I bought one of these at SynthFest UK today; Really impressed at what you managed to cram into such a small form factor. It sounds freaking awesome too. Well done team Modal 👍
So difficult not to become a supporter! Even though I am not completely into the overdriven quality the Modal synths sound (I recognize it is sharp, penetrating, powerful... just not my usual material), this checks a lot of boxes: battery powered, midi and sync connectivity, great range of sound manipulation, sequencer/arpeggiator, very affordable. Just lovely.
Just traded my Volca Keys for this little beast ans have to say - just amazing. Great job on oscillators, they are mindblowing ! Just a pity that env > osc pitch modulation is rather subtle, would be cool in case it will be possible to make it more radical for sharp kicks with significant transient... Anyway, amazing synth, unbelievable, for that price it's steal.
Berry Zwart, don’t forget about that shirt also! I’m going to wear mine with pride while I jam on this amazing lil synth. ONLY 3 AA batteries and such a huge wide range of sound! Stoked!
Is it weird that I like it more than the Skulpt? I love the Skulpt but it is a "will get one day" synth for me. The CRAFTsynth 2.0 just struck me as wow....for the sound and for the price. Proud early bird supporter! I haven't read up on the stretch goals or anything but a black edition stretch goal like you had for the Skulpt would be awesome. (or any extra color choice) I personally think a black and electric/neon green combo would look cool. Either have the white part green and keep the top black but make the knobs green, or have the top green and the white part black and keep the knobs black. I am going to go read up on the campaign now. P.S. Not anytime soon, but one day I think you should make a medium end synth. You have these new lovely affordable options as a counter to your very exquisite high end 001,002, and 008. I think one day you should do a middle of the road option. Offer a 6 voice of your 008 with a smaller footprint say 3-4 octaves and have a rack/desktop as well. As an alternative, expand your Skulpt...or even CRAFT, into a 6 voice digital wavetable synth and add in user tables as well. Do the same with this and offer the 3-4 octave keyboard version and do a rack/module version. Also, if you want to you can make a synth higher than the Skulpt but lower than the above mentioned. Make a Korg Microkorg competitor. Cut costs as best as you can but still make it fluid. Take the Skulpt and put it into a minikey board and throw in an analog filter that can be used as an alternative filter. These are just some rambling suggestions, dont mind me. Keep up the awesome work though!
We can only get fast charger power banks in New Zealand now are they safe to use on the synthesizers with the increased wattage any help would be really appreciated thanks mate
Ok, any chance Skulpt eventually will have some features like wavetables and/or osc modifiers? If I knew that Craftsynth was in a pipeline, I'd support this instead of Skulpt. Feeling bummed a bit.
SKULPTsynthesiser and CRAFTsynth 2.0 are completely different instruments. CRAFTsynth 2.0 is a monophonic instrument and SKULPTsynthesiser is a four voice instrument - hence there being a significant difference in price between them. CRAFTsynth 2.0 is NOT a monophonic version of SKULPTsynthesiser.....
All this is great if you wanted to use it to create some effects for a horror film, but for someone who is not all that smart, I am struggling with finding a step-by-step how-to video that one can use to learn how to create or load and save sequences and arpeggios and demo with a real and proper 88 key m-audio controller rather than demonstrate how cool that dime-a-dozen 8-key capacitive touch keyboard is. Also, some music oriented demos on a real keyboard would be nice: rather than Atom Heart Mother style animations, some fundamental Rick Wright "Dark Side or Walls" or Ray Manzarek (light my fire) piano rhythms demonstration would be greatly appreciated.
After using this synth for awhile I can say, that it fits sonically into 2 categories: Either washed out , evolving ambience-drone (bieng mono is a huge minus) Or harsh digital sounds. It might be cool as a bass - really hard punching ala dx bass, but lacks subtle nuance (env>flt is almost always too much) . Filter is voiced to enhance mid-hi mid, it sounds cool but can be used once in a track. This synth is an exotic spice, not bread and butter
It's awesome! I love that the focus is on making the oscillator interesting. That's a refreshing change of pace. Oh, and a proper DIN! Big thumbs up!
Seriously impressive. This makes me excited about what the future holds for synthesizers. Go Modal!

Don't underistimate sculpt the modulation is more powerful can go easily into buchla sounds
I'm excited to give mine a try! Perfect for mobile jams
Oh hurry up already...the suspense is driving me insane. LOL
Awesome
Nasty I’ll get one tomorrow 😊
Cool! 👍
I really like this one. iOS yes too! Peace Christo 👽🐕🎶
This can be linked up with skulpt as this is a sound generator
Does it have a hold key function?
Going to make a version with black keys like you ended up doing with Skulpt? That would be awesome!
@Rhizosphere Not really an issue for me as it will be being sequenced anyway.
nope sorry
@@jonfromtheuk467 Lets hope so.

does it make any sense to buy this if i already have a korg volca keys? Do they make different noises? haha will they work great together?
Do the lfos have a random mode?
