YG says 'quality over quantity' but other groups from other companies have good number of songs and they don't compromise on quality. It feels like they are just giving excuses at this point, we're not asking for a lot- a comeback more often, some variety shows maybe. Blackpink is this popular without much content, imagine how popular they would be with more content

Blackpink wouldn't be as popular as now if had more content. The reason why they have less content is all YG's strategy to gain attention for the group.

i’m a blink too, and i believe that Blackpink should try to release more music, and i get that their hiatus is their strategy but blackpink has millions of sales from just a few albums so if they had more albums they would dominate the charts for real. if they can get this far with just a few songs then if they used their full potential they could rule the kpop world. blackpink is my favourite gg so no hate to them :)

I only got into aespa a few weeks before next level was released and I honestly don't understand why they got as much hate as they did before their debut.. like seriously how close minded are people to not give a new concept a shot before it's even executed? I don’t hate them or their music. Their concept is new and it’s pretty cool. Their music doesn’t really hit me lyrically or emotionally. The members are all talented though.

Like if you have 4 member group and one of the member have much MUCH more lines than the others it's kinda obvious. It then makes me feel like some members are more of backup dancers..

SM hasn't debuted a GG since 6 years ago, and coming from the biggest kpop company their increasing popularity is natural. At the same time the amount of hate the girls get is insane... I don't think they'll dissappear as quickly as the others coz SM is putting a lot of money into them so far. Also, Aespa's young age + concept is meant to be a long term investment.
Aespa got PAK in their 11 months debut, Twice 7months debut, but Blackpink got PAK only in 6 days debut😫 thats why BLACKPINK IS THE BIGGES GG IN THE WORLD bcz Blackpink is the Revolution

I'm a blink and there hasn't been any group activities except for concert and some smaller things, the members are kinda on their own now. It's like they've disbanded, there is pretty much nothing indicating they are a group. I'm not saying solo activities are wrong but they all have completely gone solo with no group activities.
blackpink also shade yg about their only one album (in 5 year anniversary v live jisoo made a joke about that) they cant write their lyrics,compose music or anything.its such a shame. they all are ambassadors and always do photo shoots but not comebacks. yg should stop this garbage promotion of one comeback for a year. i became a blink and an army at the same time. i got about 10 BTS songs and only one blackpink song since that time. (im not comparing im just saying if yg cant do their job properly just let the girls do it )

I'm a blink and I honestly agree about the blackpink opinion. They're musicians, for crying out loud, not models. I mean, JYP has a habit of over working his idols, and YG underworks them. They're literally four balls of talent, but they have so less activity that it's almost like an unofficial disbandment . Only one complete album in 5 years? Really YG? I mean, they should get enough rest, but they don't need this much rest as well. It's almost the end of the year, and if Blackpink doesn't get a comeback, I swear I'm going to go bonkers. The line distribution one, I agree. Don't hate on the idols, because they have nothing to do with it. It's the company to blame. But, unfair line distributions are not something we can always deal with. If you want to protest, protest to the company. Don't hate on the idols. Yes, I agree, Aespa is incredible. And I don't really think that Itzy's losing their concept, I just think that they're experimenting, but that love yourself concept is going away. Think about Dalla Dalla and think about Loco. Stayc deserves better. Though I'm not a stan, I have heard a few of their songs and they're really good so yes, they deserve more.

1)I have mixed opinions for this. Sometimes I fell that it's okay. But most of the time I think they need a comeback. I don't blame the girls at all. They are talented and I love them. I WANT YG TO GIVE THEM MORE COMEBACKS. IT HAS LITERALLY BEEN ONE YEAR SINCE LOVESICK GIRLS RELEASE.

okay this is only my opinion. Aespa has insane potential to be a high ranked group, their vocals, rap and visuals. I understand what SM is doing with their concept and style of comebacks but the songs lack the potential. Aespa is a great group and have a lot of enthusiasm when performing such and such, but the songs..

1: I've always found BP underwhelming. I don't hate them but I just don't vibe with them and lack of content doesn't have me looking to them at all.
2: 100% agree. There's a reason why there's a main/lead vocalist.
3: There's no 4th gen group more popular then aespa. People may hate on them and their concept until so and so company copy SM just like in the past then they love it and act like said company came up with it.
4: Agreed. Itzy seems to have lost their "it" factor. To me Mafia was terrible and Loco is barely tolerable.
5" StayC isn't the bigest thing but I eventually see them being as successful a Gfriend in the future. Small company but they will make the company grow and vice versa. I agree with the line distribution thing. There is no point in attacking any of the member. You don't even know how they distribute the line between them. They probably consider their capabilities or suitability of their voices for better output.
Honestly, if Itzy would just make the same kind of songs each comeback, it would be so boring. Also, this new album seems to be pulling great numbers, so I am sure they are fine.

I can alr tell aespa is gonna be the biggest gg in 4th gen. Not only is SM respected greatly in Korea, but Aespa’s concept is garnering international fan. Also I’m sorry to yg and JYP, but their creative spirit and resources cannot be compared to SM, especially lee soo man and his team. Their marketing tactic is the best after having successes as well as failure in their group management. And big hit is going to rot after BTS disbands.

I actually think line distributions DO matter. Not so much about the member with most lines but with the member with least lines. In hi high, loona’s Haseul got one single word and got 0.6 seconds. NOT EVEN ONE WHOLE SECOND? If line distributions didn’t matter then people wouldn’t care much about Haseul because they wouldn’t even get to hear her voice but with line distributions you can see how unfair the company is to some members.
I think YG handling Blackpink has been damn near perfect. Kpop groups are so overworked as it is its crazy and scary and most fans think this is normal it's not. Twice for example is overworked my goodness I feel bad for them sometimes. Blackpink gets to refresh recharge do some side projects and make money. People want content content content and never really think about the person creating and that's how burnouts occur. Like I told my daughter more isn't always better let these girls work a bit get some leisure time and comeback and everybody will be healthy and happy.😇

honestly I think that groups need a fair line distributions, not equal but FAIR. it's ok to have the vocalists sing more than the others but every member needs their time to shine, sometimes it's obvious that the companies make the most popular members sing more when some lines could easily go to the others that are treated as backup dancers... all members deserve if not many lines, at least catchy lines, I want to hear EVERYONE when I listen to a song, not just the vocalists

Never blame idols for what lines the company gave them. But no, UNFAIR line distribution isn’t okay, UNEQUAL line distribution is. A song can have unequal line distribution but still be fair. No member should have like 40 seconds of lines while another only has like 3 seconds. Same goes for screen time.
Examples are when a lead vocalist get more lines than main vocalist, just bc they’re more popular. Stuff like this happens with Loona, Everglow, blackpink, and probably many more. They’re my ult but in skz lee know literally has barely any lines in gods menu and back door. and if you watch the mvs he barely has screen time even though he’s basically main dancer (no official positions anymore) he should be center at least more than once, and you should be able to clearly see it’s him.
Aespa is growing in a great speed and their music is so enjoying but SM should make them apologise for laughing on racist joke otherwise it'll affect them badly when they'll become more famous!

Kim Woojin needs to be recognized. That man's talent should be seen and heard by the majority. I hope he'll not be negatively recognized due to an issue (which was proven to be fallacious) before. Give him a listen. His songs are mainly inspiring (listen to Still Dream and Ready Now) and emotional (listen to My growing pains, In my space, and Purple Sky). His song covers are outstanding as well.
My own opinions:
1) Stayc and Aespa are gonna dominate the kpop landscape in the coming years.
2) Girl group concepts and discography are more diverse and interesting than boy groups.
3) Itzy teen crush >>>itzy girl crush
4) Unfair line distributions are ok but when a member both dont get lines AND CAMERA TIME??? Thats when we draw the line.
5) Songs (bg/gg) being released in the current era are just way too high.
5a) Thus, companies should really put extra work on putting trainees together, making sure they all fit their concept and their sound.
5b) Producers should respect the idols' singing range and make songs that can showcase everyones vocals. Its sad to see idols not being able to sing their own songs or not having lines despite knowing how talented they are.
6) More producers and idol groups should experiment with their music. We need more hyperpop tracks, city pop, bossa nova inspired bops, house antidrops,, yknow non conventional trap pop edm kpop that has been the trend the past 5-6 years.
7) K indie/rnb/ballads/other genres are still good. So many new talents debuting each year.

HONESTLY, the 3rd gen groups dont even release insanely banger songs ALL THE TIME. Sometimes, the hype on their songs just passes by, as if its only an instagram trend that doesn't last long. Many of the 3rd gen famous groups have hit or miss songs, (take itzy for example) thats why only a few of their songs actually make it to the international market with overwhelming recognition and hype. As for blackpink ALL of their main songs are very succesful. Just a single glimpse of their song and everyone will immediately recognize and vibe with the hype. I'm not saying this in defend of YG strategy, but im saying this as a business student. Yg's strategy is actually really smart and effective. Every single time Blackpink have a comeback, the result multiplies up to 10x more profit and hype compared to other groups who have 2-3 comebacks a year. Boredom happens to you know. Look at twice, they are OVERWORKED, constantly having a comeback, the result? even tho they are still really famous, the hype and profits doesn't stay stable. I personally think that Blackpink having a side job of modelling is also really smart too. Because even without group releases to indulge in, the girls gather MORE solo fanbases every time they appear on their solo projects and individual brand deals. And like it or not, the solo fanbases also give a big contribution on the profits and fame of Blackpink. I mean, all the girls are also really model worthy tho, to be honest. They embody their respective brands perfectly. And you know, many blinks are actually rich lol. So even if the group will be on hiatus. YG still constantly stacks in cash thro the investments and purchases rich blinks make on their biases endorsed products. At the same time, I kind of understand why many fans get frustrated, after all, even real fans get impatient too. But really, companies cant just make decisions right there and then. They have their reasons that probably only business minded people can truly understand. or Maybe they dont want to overwork the girls. Maybe they need a lot more time to prepare as BP have always released top-tier music videos and outfits. We never really know what goes behind the company. I mean if you were really a true fan, then you would appreciate whatever your idols will give you, instead of demanding things from them and act like the entertainment industry is such an easy thing to be in, because no, its actually a lot more competitve and complicated than it looks.
I love all the blackpink songs but i do agree they should release more music often. Although i never get bored of the same song😅. But it would be nice if they had more songs. But i dont blame them since their life is very restricted sadly(Evil yg) they didnt even let lisa visit her grandfathers funeral.😢. But they would be amazing if they released more songs
I agree with the line distribution one but I feel like it shouldn’t ALWAYS be this one person in the group that has the most lines or the lowest or is in the top in the line and always near the bottom distribution I feel like if one of the lower ones in the line distribution can have the spotlight (unless they don’t want to)
Tbh its not that the pinks dont want to make more music they said that they would love to have more comebacks and songs to connect in an interview but yg would not allow them to have more songs and puts them on hiatus
i think stayc and aespa could be the next nation's ggs (like twice and blackpink). and, i love itzy but i kinda feel they are staying way behind bc of jype's poor managment.

Wish people understood that there’s a reason that some members get way less lines than others, whether it be there skill level is not on par or they shine like through dancing or something. We need to understand that is quite normal for artists to go on a year hiatus. Most popular singers like Beyoncé or Selena Gomez release an album almost every two years. They need time of to find more inspiration so they can create more songs. If the US can do it then why are we having such expectations for Kpop idols?

2. 30% agree. You shouldn’t hate on idols because they get the most lines, that’s just wrong, however most of the time it really can be fairer.
3. 50% agree. They are very talented and produce bops but most other groups are still way bigger than them. For example Itzy. And if you compare non ad views than they are still not the next big thing. And their music isn’t that unique either.

Yeah i heard about bp being models more than being a singer although they are known for being a kpop gg. I did became a fan before but when they went on hiatus for so long i kinda lost my interest? I guess... now i'm just a casual listener not really follow bp that much.

i actually have my eyes on stayc and everglow. its been a long time since i really stan girl groups ( the last was all 2nd gen girl group 😭 like t-ara, 2ne1, 4minute, snsd) i relly like stayc and everglow's music, live performance (i can hear their voice live) and their stage presence

this is my opinion as someone who's only an observer and casual listener of bp:
yg really needs to give bp more songs to sing and/or perform. They debuted as an idol group but I feel like they're going to disband as models and brand ambassadors. yg doesn't have to release eps or full albums every month. They could just do what bighit does with their groups (BTS and TXT), 2-3 albums per year. Heck BTS released mostly singles this year but it's fine coz we had BE. If yg is really invested into bp and wants to show the group's real potential, they should also focus on the musicality, not only on the visuals and advertisements.
so far, 3/4 members have promoted their solo longs. That's great, but how about the group? Are blinks going to treat the members' solo debuts as some kind of a comeback for the whole group?

ig blackpink coming back rare unlike other grps is y their comebacks are hyped. it's a business strategy by yg. usually gg's have more general public, so yg's making use of it well. & their modelling is grabbing more western fans so yg keep on making endorsement deals with brands. If we all know 2ne1 cl and bigbang gd made a good business relationship with fashion brands & yg. So yg is good at promoting them with that field, same for Coachella, only yg grps got chance to perform there. So yg is not evil as other's think. Many other fandoms need a promo for their favs like yg, so blinks & bp are lucky in that way but in terms of music works it' would be frustrating for blinks, I feel sry for both girls & their fans. also yg's hunger for western fan made them to focus less on domestic which is more imp for KPOP idols like them.

I don't believe in YG's strategy. I feel that YG very well knows how strong the grps position is and they hv nothing to lose. They can take as much liberty as they want. The members individually doing great so they can can easily do bare minimum and still will get huge success.
This is actually an idol's job. YGE just shows they can do the same without releasing new music (a strategy other groups use to draw attention, releasing 2-3 MV simultaneously). If you notice, since this worked for BP, they're doing the same for Treasure. Even SM is kinda going the same route with AESPA.

I think StayC 's concept is not very popular for the majority of global fans but it quite fits the korean fans ' favoritism . That's why they get more attention in Korea than the other countries.
For Blackpink I just wish if YGE could not give many CB like other groups then at least give them a album when they appear once in a year ..plzz.........and I think they should keep at least one song which has teddy formula bcoz although people seems to hate it many other people seems to like BP for those type of songs with flashy mvs ....abd the diverse songs as b sides
I completely agree with your opinions and I also think that solo Stan's needs to understand that LD is not biased and it is based on how a member sounds good in the song.

It makes me barely tolerate it and I get so angry at YG most of the time. Cuz even after they do release music after a year they themselves barely have a contribution in the creation which again isn't their fault but its something that doesn't help them grow at all.
Not to mention the world tours and movies and shows consisting of barely any new songs. It is borderline embarrassing.
I know these new kids have 'potential'. But nothing beats Blackpink....if only they'd do something more.

YG is very inefficient, other groups from other companies have both group and solo activities in the same year
Why do people not understand that a member with the least lines will always exist. People consider every line distribution unfair like how can a 4 member group have unfair lien distributions. Unfair line distributions are only okay if the member with the least lines gets at Keats one proper verse, or if that member gets more lines in another song. However line distributions for songs like latata and no lie are not okay
I was a blink for a year but not anymore because I lost my interested, they are busy modeling instead of putting music( I know it's yg's fault not theirs)

For the Blackpink, I think it’s because their producers don’t make music while the members are busy in other things.
Like some artists by music from other producers and then arranged them, but Blackpink (teddy) produces the song from 0 and the members are present.
Plus they had world tours in 2018 and then other in 2019 and lasted till the start of 2020.
In 2020 bc of the pandemic they didn’t have shows to attend with their brands, and had more time to make music.
But this year it would be the fans, I understand why they released rose solo, and she even said she was working on it for a long time. But they also wanted Lisa’s solo, so YG also said they would released it, when instead they could’ve release a group comeback, and avoid competing against each other in end of year awards.
And when blinks realise, they would blame YG

Actually I am glad blackpink is taking long hiatuses. They are interesting, and with every comeback I get excited. I never get bored of them. And honestly keeping music aside for a while, there is something new everyday, even though they are not promoting, I still stay connected with them some how. And I don’t mind them being literal fashion icons. I Stan them for their music fosure, but honestly if you remove the kpop context, many artists like Ed sheer an take longer hiatuses. These girls are literally taking only a year. There is not even a single song that I don’t enjoy from their dicscography thanks to the hiatus.

i will never understand the hype surrounding aespa .dont get me wrong people say they have talent yess i agree but its not like they out of he world talent that no other idol in the industry have.Then a lot of people say they are all beautiful ,unfortunately i dont stan people for looks .Then their actual job singing,they are good vocalists and i kind of like their debut song black mamba .unfortunately i dont like any of their other songs that they have released so far.they had about 1m subscribers after 1 month of their debut if they debued from a different company that was not part of big 3 or hybe their debut song would still be good but they wouldnt have this big of a following so overall they are talented and good idols but i dont see anything in them to call them the next big thingO AND ONE MORE THING THEY REALLY DONT DESERVE THE HATE THEY GET IF DONT LIKE THEIR CONCEPT THEN SIMPLY DONT LISTEN LIKE ME AND WHEN THEY RELEASE A SONG THAT FITS YOUR STYLE LISTEN TO IT.
