Jennifer Aniston actually didn't know the last scene was happening. She actually thought David fell down the stairs like that. In the original audio you can hear her scream David but they put the laughs over it. You can just tell by her reaction 😂😂😂
13:52 The fact that Jennifer Aniston is laughing and trying to hide it, this being the scene that worked the most and they laughed the least hahahaha, if you see the recording errors in this scene you will die laughing together because they all laugh together and Chandler still make more fun
Phoebe singing along with the bagpipes is one of the funniest scenes in the entire show to me. It’ll randomly pop into my head every so often and start cracking up.
He’s a character with a lot of experience, he’s got the knowledge (the guy is like an encyclopedia with his love of science and history), dabbled in music, decent football player but had a rough go with rugby, managing to get married and forced 3 times, etc.
The bagpipe scene is one of the funniest moments in the show. I love that Jennifer Aniston couldn’t hold it together. The blooper is even funnier. Phoebe and Ross are top notch in that scene.
Susan Sarandon is an actual LEGEND of cinema. She was nominated for an Oscar 5 times, won once. Matt LeBlanc was very star-struck to meet her and to work with her on this episode. Her husband at that time, Tim Robbins (another legend, you saw him playing Andy Dufresne in 'The Shawshank Redemption') was in the audience while Susan and Matt were filming their scenes.
That prank never gets old! The way you jumped absolutely killed me because that’s exactly how I reacted the first time I saw it 🤣 Btw I strongly recommend Full House. It’s hands down my favorite sitcom, and I think you’d love it since you like Friends 💚
The bagpipes is one of my favorite moments 😭 it’s so funny when phoebe starts singing and then when Rachel gets pranked loll, which btw was a real reaction because Jennifer Aniston didn’t know they were doing that
I love it when Friends delves into the soap opera storylines with Joey. I used to watch General Hospital and they had a storyline that a Jason Morgan's memory was downloaded into the brain of his twin lol..... I always wished Matt LeBlanc/Joey did a cross over on Days of our Lives for real, playing Drake Remore for maybe a week and showing some bits and pieces and behind the scenes stuff on Friends. Would have been a blast.
omg you finally got here lmao, that bagpipe scene is by far one of the funniest scene in all sitcoms. First time watching it when Pheobe started squeaking had me DEAD.
The fact that Jennifer Aniston didn't know about the prank at the end of the episode and that was her real reaction just makes it that more amazing. And let's not forget the episode we're Ross plays the Bagpipes and Phoebe starts screeching is one of my favorite episodes. And the bloober is even better with everyone breaking character 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@Joshy.Want.Wingyy what does this have to do with these scenes Ross has really funny moments I cannot say that he doesn't but him as a person/character hell no.
From Season 7, these episodes were some of my favourite ones. Loved the improvised prank at the end of episode 16. Jennifer's scream was truly authentic because she wasn't told at all that there would be a mannequin falling down the stairs. Talking about David Schwimmer, he directed episode 16 and I recommend you a movie in which he appears. It is called Six Days, Seven Nights. It's an excellent movie. You'll love it. Merry Christmas, Oscar 🎄 Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
theres a slightly extended version of the bagpipes scene where it's just a longer version of Phoebe singing and Jennifer Aniston breaking character is even more noticeable, hiding her face behind her hand. If you look closely, you can even notice the camera trembling like the cameraman was also losing control from laughter 😂😂😂 can't blame them, I cracked up so hard when I first watched that scene
I discovered your channel recently and I have just binge watched all of your friends reactions. I’ve finally made it to the present uploads so now I have to wait for each reaction! Love your reactions, you’re so warm hearted and funny, it really is a cozy channel ☕️
You can get something called a practice chanter, which is basically the same volume as a recorder. It'll teach you the fingerings and emboucher for bagpipes without the nose... which is a good deal of the battle.
Fun fact, Jeniffer Aniston was never told about that last scene prank, and how it would go. So that she would react in a genuine way. THAT WAS HER HONEST reaction for thinking actual Ross had fallen down the stairs. It was amazing that she was able to keep on character!
When the manikin falls down the stairs for the prank on Rachel at the end of episode 16. Jennifer Anistons reaction to it was genuine. She actually thought for a split second it was David Schwimmer for a sec. XD
The daughter on the soap opera really is Susan Sarandon's daughter. Great continuity. Side note: This reaction makes me want you to see Get Out. Don't worry, it'll make sense after you watch it.
Now that you've seen the famous "bagpipe" ending scene, you need to watch the blooper reel, where Courtney, Matthew, Lisa and Jennifer all couldn't hide their laughter. In fact, it was Jennifer that said to keep her reaction to Phoebe joining in with Ross.
This is one of my favorite episodes ! I enjoyed your reactions and comments A Lot. The actress that was opposite of Matt Le Blanc ( Joey ) is Susan Sarandon... she is Very Famous and one of my favorite actresses her husband is Tim Robins from the movie Shawshank Redemption and they have a son that is in a Netflix movie Let It Snow. Susan Sarandon is in The Rocky Horror Picture Show as Janet . Although my favorite scene in this was when Rachel broke character and was laughing at Phoebe imitating Ross on the bagpipes . I Love that scene so much. Thank you for your channel and the laughs . Have A Merry Christmas !
Jessica Lockhart's character is based on Susan Lucci, who I think still remains the longest running soap opera actor in history, she was on All My Children for I don't even know how many years, at least 20 if not more. Also there are a couple characters on Days of Our Lives who are that long-lasting as well; but having Susan Sarandon and her daughter on there is pretty incredible.
How do people practice the bagpipes? On the University of Iowa campus, near Hancher Auditorium, (decades ago during my university years), people practiced the bagpipes on the green near the Iowa River and it reverberated across the park-like area. Of course, they were already talented players, unlike Ross.
Everybody in the Co-Co comments can't be wrong: you need to UA-cam 'Friends bloopers Ross bagpipes' Stat. It's one of the show's self-contained bloopers people have posted by itself so other outtakes from episodes yet to come won't be ruined for you. The fun takeaway after you watch the bloopers and then rewatch the final edited scene, only then do you realize, just how much of Aniston breaking character was actually left in for the final version of the scene. Because they did get a reshoot clean take of her playing it deadpan, but the show runners said her barely keeping her sh*t together during the 'concert' was just too good to pass up.
That story line pisses me off because if Chandler had gone looking for Phoebe, and wound up with Monica, no one would say she's overreacting and she definitely wouldn't have gotten over it so fast. She absolutely wouldn't have said, "Chandler made me realize I was overreacting." lol
For what it's worth, I'm actually on Ross' side of the whole "stop teaching my kid to prank people" thing. I was an only child until I was 17. I didn't grow up pranking people. Joking around, sure, teasing absolutely, even scaring sometimes, of course, it's what guys do. But pranking them? Marking lines on their face? Making them piss all over their own bathroom floor? That's disgusting. Completely inappropriate behavior at any age. If you're going to prank somebody, they shouldn't have a mess to clean up after it's done. Otherwise you're not being funny, you're being a dick. If your actions make your friends lives more difficult instead of less difficult, you're not a friend, you're an enemy.
I actually like bagpipes and had it in my wedding Amazing Grace, I have Irish and Scottish in my family. That was a real reaction from Jennifer Aniston at the end I do believe.
Just so you know. At the end where they threw a dummy that looked like Ross to freak Rachel out. She didn't know about it. So, her reaction was her genuine Reaction
Janine always felt a bit shallow and then turned out to be horrible, but I love Joey's deeper relationships with actresses. We had it with Kate in Season 3, and Cecilia here. It brings out sides of Joey we don't usually see. You can tell Joey is really into these people, and there's a mutual respect. I wish the show did more with that.
I've seen it happen too many times now, with different reactors, to be angry anymore, but I must say it: every time Susan Sarandon appears and doesn't get IMMEDIATELY recognized, my heart cries a little. 😞
The ending with the dummy was Jennifer Aniston’s real reaction. That wasn’t acting. She didn’t know that was going to happen because they never rehearsed it that way.
the dummy down the stairs was Rachel's (Jennifer's) genuine reaction, she didn't know it was going to happen
Facts! She actually got pranked.
and they muted her voice in the last second cause she was actually yelling david schwimmers (ross’ actor) name
It was David’s idea. He directed that episode!!!!
I can't believe I didn't know this! That's hilarious and so mean
I came here to say this!
5:13 “why is your family Scottish?” “why is your family ross?”
I love this line!
Possibly my favorite comeback in the series.
One of my biggest laughs of this season ^^
sam! one of my fave lines of the series & the delivery
Yep I’m Scottish and I always love chandlers reply “why is ur family ROSS” 😂
Jennifer Aniston actually didn't know the last scene was happening. She actually thought David fell down the stairs like that. In the original audio you can hear her scream David but they put the laughs over it. You can just tell by her reaction 😂😂😂

The bagpipe blooper (I kid you not) is one of the FUNNIEST bloopers in tv history! 🤣

That one and the Pivot outtakes lol

Phoebe singing along with the bagpipes is one of the funniest scenes in the entire show to me. It’ll randomly pop into my head every so often and start cracking up.
27:14 Again this scene was without Jennifer's knowledge, she was really scared and her scream and reaction were 100% real about "David" falling.
She also screamed Davids name so they had to mute it
One of my favorite lines of this show, “Why is your family Ross!” 🤣🤣🤣
Oh God! the way Oscar jumped while Ross and Ben were pranking Rachel 😁
27:10 that moment was actually left out of Jennifer's script
she screamed David's name, so they had to dub over it
Bagpipes, keyboard and dance-karate. Ross can do it all

“You can’t use your dead mom to get the cute guy and the last blueberry muffin”
“Did I already use that today? Oh okay, I’m sorry” 😂😂 I love Phoebe sm
The actress being slapped by Susan Sarandon in the early scene is actually Sarandon’s daughter.
thank you! That's right. I recognized her from playing Saradon's daughter, I believe, in the film The Banger Sisters with Goldie Hawn.
Also, Jen breaking character during the bag pipes bc Phoebe wasn't scripted to sing like that lol
