today we talk about an update that just hit pet simulator 99, that being something called the forever pack. It's been highly criticized on social media and is being compared to being a slot machine and the game as a whole a casino. I tried pet sim 64 and some how it was just a copy and paste of a real Casino
All I have to say, Pet Simulator 1 and 2 aren't really as "Casino"y as 99 is. Pet Sim 1 is just old, so it has had some of its fair share of microtransactions, and Pet Sim 2 kind of died not even a year after launch

pet simulator 24 was its peak. it let you use your pets to battle and the story was engaging. after that though, it kinda just all went downhill. sad to see this series go down 😔

4:09 This has actually happened before. Minitoon, the developer of Piggy, tried making toys that would give you a code you can redeem for in game items, but Roblox denied him from doing so. PRESTON MEANWHILE GETS TO DO THE SAME THING BUT THE TOYS ARE LIKE 30x MORE EXPENSIVE

Even the pet sim 99 subtitle thing is like those cash grab games like "lvl1" and then shows a TRASH egg but then in the right there is "lvl 99" or "lvl 100" and shows an op egg

i see the forever pack and i am instantly reminded of mobile "games" marketing scheme
For a comparison, imagine you bought a battle pass type thing in a game, and when you think you got it all you just get the first page.
as a pet sim 99 player, this is how i would fix the "forever pack"
not being an "infinite" pack, making it have 50-100 (or maybe 99 because of the game name being Pet Simulator 99) item slots
letting you see everything, so you can see what you are getting
maybe doing it slightly more expensive (not a high difference tho, maybe 10% - 25% more expensive) so it won't be very OP for very rich players
the pack refreshes every few hours, maybe you can be lucky and play when there is a pack that includes a titanic pet
getting a guaranteed titanic pet if you buy the entire pack (don't think it might cause any problems because its pretty expensive)
or also the next thing: making it just a singular pack where you get a good bunch of items, a decent amount of huges and a titanic for an actual decent price, not very overpriced tho

I think that youd get like 4 items for free, then you’d need to do a quest for the next tier, so on so on and you can get the huge for a 0.001% per quest, or at the final tier you get one guaranteed

8:00 yeah, but really unfair that roblox highered the price just for some slot machines when there were amazing games that did amazing events, I think the main reason they made the cost per copy higher is because of the recent 100k items last month
The forever pack has been added an update before that, now in the latest update they made the backrooms pack as a forever pack copy, they're both in there.

speed simulattor: you just had to walk a few steps and you got the flippin hunt badge
weight lifting simulator: you could just redeem a code and get the badge that way
there's probably more, but these are the most lazy badges in the hunt.

It isn’t technically breaking tos rules because when you buy the forever pack you see what you get so that’s why there isn’t the written chance to get the huge or titanic

Funny you mention that because Big Games tried to do that with Pet Sim X and they cost outrageous amounts of money. What’s worse is that people actually bought them because they came with a code that gave you an exclusive pet. It actually got so much criticism that it caused Roblox to change their TOS.
dont think that because roblox doesnt care wont mean that the eu wont,the eu has been pushing a lot of laws to restrict such practices(which is why the very rule was even added)

i mean its kinda normal in brawl stars whenever they release a new skin or a new brawler early access, they would have a menu when u click on the offer, first costs usually around 20 - 30 USD and then after that everything is "free" until another offer where u buy it for gems(u can get like 40 a month and this offer is around 40 or above idk i forgot) and then the rest would be "free" although they dont try to make the 50 gems offer invisible from the first glance so idk man
You can always scroll through these "mini battlepasses" to see what costs gems and what is free

2. the forever pack is NOT deceptive, (though, it is wrong to hide it) but I believe that the dev blog literally says that you get some free items and then you will have to buy just a bit more.
