And I'm not concerned that I can only add a few dollars each paycheck. I'm saving and it feels great to be going in a positive direction. Maybe put a little disclaimer at the beginning of your videos to say “you are not prego and that you are 21 and your retirement is YOUR retirement so thank you for the concern but you have it under control”. Not sure if that would help but that way people can’t say you didn’t let them know. I enjoy watching your videos. How much will the boxes be?

I'm impatient and only like to put money to pay down debts and save in big chunks but this is just so inspiring. I don't get paid in cash but I am tempted to grab some sinking fund envelopes and start doing it like you. I always thought the envelope system was impractical but I love how you do it. I'm sure I'm not the only one inspired and those haters are just jealous that you have such amazing self control and organized budgets. A lot of us live on low incomes and this helps. Repeating what everybody is saying: Ignore the haters. Don’t give them any airtime and keep doing what you’re doing because it is helping out so many folks. There was a time I didn’t have $5 in my account, my credit card was maxed out, and I was on empty at a gas station wondering how was going to put gas in my truck and get to work with payday being 3 days away. I swore I would never put myself in that situation ever again and started working on my finances.

$2 a week is $8 a month. I have learned something about saving. A slow trickle on one item is great while your main focus is something else. One day, you can put more into retirement and something else will get less.
I do £2 a week into a lifetime ISA and £2 a week into a pension. Do not underestimate how quickly it builds up, plus I like watching all the content. People will be surprised how far that amount goes. A lottery ticket costs £2.50 a week, could be going towards something more useful xx

Your videos inspire me a lot. I always see people stuffing $2000 per week and that’s not my reality - YET!!!!!!!!! This is just the start of a money routine.
I'm going to make a long story short. When I was 25 I took my last $25 and opened a traditional IRA money market account. I'm 59 now. You know how much money is in that account now? About $50 to $80 I don't watch it. It's not $100. But it was the start to my saving for retirement when I had money trouble because I had man trouble. I saved every year after that to save the entire amount for the Traditional IRA and when Roth IRAs came out I started to get them. I'm not sure if I'm financial secure but I do have a pretty good amount set aside for retirement. I put that first years money into the account on April 15 the last possible day and that was all I had to give. Good luck with saving. You do the best that you can. You could always use challenge money for Retirement if you wanted. But always remember, YOU DO YOU! ~Audrey

I think it is smart you are saving for a baby. I wish I had planned that at a young age. I am 36 now and that money would have been useful for fertility treatments which are so expensive

Even if you save a $1 that is $1 more than what you had yesterday. Honey a budget is extremely personal and based soley on a persons life. No two will be the same. Never let anyone tell you how you should run your bidget. I think you are doing amazing and i wish i had my finances together when i was your age. I wouldnt be in the financial situation i am in now and having to work so hard to get out of debt.

Tara you are doing absolutely amazing! I started a retirement fund and I only have $25 most weeks I don’t put anything into it. And having $135 for a baby is awesome! Babies are super expensive but the sooner you start saving the better and that’s exactly what you’re doing! Don’t let the haters get to you!! Like you said it is your money and it’s your budget!! 🙌🏼

Please keep it up you are doing great I just started my channel and I have a two year old and I’m no where near getting pregnant soon but I have an envelope for baby #2 and I stuff when I can with always less than $5 and that’s what I can do I know that’s nothing for the cost of a baby but I’m just saving for our future family when ever that may be 🙏🏼☺️

Girl ignore those haters. Like you said it is your budget. You use it how you want. You shouldn’t have to explain it every time or at all. You’re still young. You enjoy your money now. Plus you pay your bills and budget how it works best for you. People will always have a say. And it’s always the ones who shouldn’t even have a say that like to be pointing irrelevant things out.

Well done for even thinking about retirement! ( not being rude but you sound like quite a young person). Those saying add more are probably those, who, like me, didn't start saving soon enough. At some point, when life changes, because it will, you can then choose when to add more to that pot. I admire you and think you are doing brilliantly!

I think it is smart you are saving for a baby. I wish I had planned that at a young age. I am 36 now and that money would have been useful for fertility treatments which are so expensive
