Just finished binge watching all your videos!! I enjoyed all of them, made me feel like I was there with you sharing your amazing adventure. I often found myself feeling anxious and then cheering you on whenever you come across an obstacle or a challenge. And I was always blown away by you calmness and team work. Great landscape shots, great documentation. Thank you for showing us these amazing places and people. So happy to have stumbled on your Shimanami kaido video. Stay safe always. No waaay! My heart broke seing you wash yourselves under a tap, what a sin in the land of onsen 😀 We just came back home from our year long cycling honeymoon across Japan so it’s lovely to watch the sceneries again, thanks. But next time you go, do make use of the amazing public baths, they’re really cheap in the countryside and they were one of the daily highlights of our tour ;)

I love Japan. I visit every year on my way through south east asia. I just left right before the coronavirus started shutting everything down. I was amazed that the bike rim held up but that’s why they make them double walled. Great video thank you
We are also taken by that amazing group of Islands 😀 It was incredible to see that crack and not have the whole wheel collapse. Thumbs up for good good rims!! Thanks and All the Best!!

Cool. I saw you cooked on the road . I like to take a small section on TYVEK house wrap. Thin inexpensive and water proof for a cooking mat, or sitting, or use as door mat at the tent entrance helps keep out sand and mud until you get inside tent.

Wheels to Wander thank you so much guys, i have sent you an email. I hope I haven’t rambled on for too long 😂 i have so many questions 🤔🤦♂️. Anyway i look forward to hearing from you, thanks again!!
Hello. Beautiful video! Thank you. I was asking myself, how did you find the campsite for sleeping. Did you spot them before your trip or were you finding them day-to-day? Because I heard that japanese legislation is quiet strict about camp zone. Also many time you need to make reservation in advance. But maybe I'm wrong. Can you give me some info about it?
Thank you Khan! We were finding them day to day. We don't know the exact rules but heard that camping is generally allowed in a lot of places. We never had problems and, of course, always were respectful of the people, property, surroundings and practice 'leave no trace'.
@@WheelstoWander thank you for taking time to answer me! I'm planning to make a 2-3months bike travel in Japan soon and you're experience helps me to prepare for it.
Another amazing journey through Japan. The kindness generosity of the locals such a Blessing. Thank you for sharing your wonderful journey. Be safe ✌😄✌
One of the reasons i never went pannier setup was because everyone has problems with rear wheel for me bikepacking on a carbon fatbike with bikepacking setup is less problems. When i comes to washing clothes i use scubba bag 3 mins my washing is done and it free good video as always
The V-brake pads on the rims wore through the side walls and compromised the integrity. That would not have been a problem with disc brakes. A recommendation would be Ryde Andra or Sputnik rims which are plenty strong enough for carrying extra weight, combined with disc brakes would make a very durable, long lasting combination. Thanks for the Scrubba bag tip, we will look into that!! But how are you going to quick dry 😉 Thanks!

At this very time of 2020, I was supposed to be en route for my 1-year slow exploration of Japan, Korea and Taiwan. The China coronavirus makes advanced planning irrelevant. One step at a time, one day after the other. Are you going to hold a live Q&A?
I (Eric) love penne, just the right bite 😉 We don't get to many questions about live Q&A but might do that if more people would want that. The corona made it hard for everybody, we hope you will be en route sooner than later 🙏🏼 Thanks & All the best!
@@WheelstoWander Hello Eric, I've got enough questions for a 60-minute Q&A 😁. I've been bike packing across Asia for 15 years, between 3 to 5 weeks with only 1 or 2 border crossings. Easy. The logistical challenges of intercontinental bike touring is a major part of planning. Add to that the filming, editing, cooking, I admire your dedication to sharing your experience with yiur audience. Also I am really impressed by the loads you carry on your Koga. The bike itself is quite heavy. You guys are tough cookies.

Hello guys! Thank you so much for your amazing and full of inspiration videos! I have a question for you because me and my wife will cross Italy by this summer. Do you use click pedals or just regular ones? If you have any recommendation for a particular ones i would like to know. Thanks 😊
Hi David! Thanks 😊 We use flat pedals (MTB). We can't really comment on click pedals because we never used them.
