I’ve bought a few pairs on AliExpress, because there are a lot of them that just don’t get sold in Disneyland Paris! I don’t mind that they’re perhaps counterfeit, since I won’t be selling them. I’d rather buy a cute pair of ears before my trip than pay double at the parks!
Same, I usually don't buy official Disney ears because their quality doesn't justify the price lol but if I see a pair online I like I think I'll be able to use what I learned from this to see if they're counterfeit! Thank you for another great video, Emily!
Came here because I saw some Shanghai tag ones at a local store and read the winnie the pooh thing on them and thought, huh that’s weird! They were asking $25, I’m glad my intuition was right and didn’t pay so much for them!
Do you mind sharing the seller on AliExpress please? There are many and want to know who you purchased from? I’m ok with fakes but want good quality ones like the one you found. Thanks!!
I’ve been waiting for some newer content! I love that you are even updating some info 😍 found you by chance and now binging all your videos while at work ❤️😂
I really appreciate all the research you put into this video! I have bought the Tokyo heart ears on eBay from China and they were labeled from Shanghai but I didn’t look close enough to see if they had Winnie the Pooh on the tag 😂 Ive bought a few pairs on ali also and always cut off all my tags even the fabric ones on the ears right away so I forgot what they said but this was really fascinating! I most recently got the orange bird ears from f&g 2020 and they seem maybe a little off center but I wish I had looked at the tags more! Good luck with your PHD defense! 🤞🏻💜
Thanks for making a video like this! I noticed the MMA Ears on Ali express and was so curious what they would look like. I have bought one pair on that site for a halloween costume, it was regular black ear red polka dot bow ears. I don't mind if they are "fake" or real Disney Park ears, since they just hang on my wall. Since Disney keeps raising the prices but not quality (Loki ears...), I will probably buy them from Ali Express.
So interesting ! Thank you for making this video :) I wouldn’t mind a fake pair for a cheap price , I sure would mind if I paid authentic pricing for a fake though !
Thank you for this. I purchased my first pair of ears on eBay and seller was from Texas so thought nothing of it. It shipped and tag had Yen and the Shanghai Winnie the Pooh 😢 they do look 100% like the original so it threw me off.
I have Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas ears & the gingerbread Mickey & Minnie ears from China from eBay. For such cheap prices, I don't mind. Disney quality is so bad anyway. The quality on them is great, the only downside was the slow shipping!
I actually just bought a pair of the Space Mountain ones today for $15 😂 I’ll try to remember to report back on what they are like. I wanted the ears but not at the $400 price tag for legit ones
I’ve bought a few ears from eBay that were the second best ones, paying a lot less for them 🥰 I did splurge and bought the space mountain ears that were not cheap and I do believe they’re authentic from a US seller 🤷♀️ on a side note I also bought the cheap Buzz wishable for $12 just because I wanted him though knowing he’s fake 😢.....he’s just for our collection and I’ll probably never own the real Buzz lol -Julie
I may be wrong but I ordered a lucky bag from a Shanghai seller (based in Shanghai) and I am pretty sure my tag had the silver holographic sheen to it too but did say something about Pooh on it. I thought that was odd but figured maybe it was something their merch has to say because of a difference in licensing overseas...or maybe it was a Hong Kong merch item but definitely something I procured from overseas did have the Pooh disclaimer. Felt like that was worth mentioning.
Actually nm. I think it was a Hong Kong product I saw that Winnie the Pooh disclaimer on. I just checked my Shanghai ears and there is an actual silver sticker on the tag with the castle, and no mention of Pooh. Under the logo it just says copyright Disney and then has the price in yuan on the back, phew. I love that your video led me to double check!
@@iridescencewithin6657 yeah they don't. I posted an update to my original comment after I checked. My authentic Shanghai ears did not mention Pooh. It was actually a Hong Kong product I was thinking about that had a Pooh disclaimer on it but it was a licensed HK product, not from the Parks.
*Some things to look for when purchasing mouse ears online!*
So is it shdrstore that sells reliable merch from Shanghai Disney? You mentioned it and I wanted to check! Thanks and you are awesome!

Go for Crystal near to Christmas time
This is very interesting information. I think I would be ok with a factory second for $10-$12. - mari
Yea all mine i got from the parks buy honestly id rather pay 10 bucks for fake space mountain ears on ali express than $400 from a reseller lol.

I have bought quite a few with the crazy Shanghai tag. But they look amazing and I love them!! 😂

Does it really matter if they're not "original"? my daughter would be happy with them even if they're not super expensive.

I'd rather make my own I'm tired of paying disney prices for ears that the quality is terrible

I was reading that the authentic Shanghai tags have the holo sticker and no Winnie the Pooh on it

Thank you for this video. How do the inauthentic ones fit? Tight, loose, etc....
Are Minnie ear hairbands more common these days than the old-school Mickey ear hats/beanies? I don’t see as many of the latter anymore.
Minnie ear headbands are definitely the big thing, they seem to come out with far fewer classic Mickey ear hats
Fun video and I know I'm a few days late but congratulations on your defense!!!
Could you do the Celestial ears from disney?
Hmm. Now I wonder if the pin I got from eBay is an extra from the factory. Has that been known to happen?
In terms of pins, it’s more likely to be s total fake. True ‘scrapper’ pins have become rare
