If I accidentally burn it, will it become brittle or will it still be strong? I want to make handles for my mom's crochet hooks.

I might have liked it if I had seen earth tone instead of burned.. :) Of course once I've put time into a piece, I don't want to get rid of it so find a way to change it up. What glue did you use to keep the crystals on? I liked both versions myself.
