Epic review of an epic film. Loved every minute of this video. The way you described the original RoboCop versus the shitty remake was brilliant. Man vs. Robot. Classic. And I was laughing my ass off at the "I got magic legs now..Lt Dan!" in reference to Robo's goofy ass running in the remake. I can't say this enough, great job with the review and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the sequels.
Robocop is in Mortal Kombat 11 happy to play as him. ROBOCOP Police officers Turned against him they are Jealous he was helping y'all the Leader didn't listen to the other officers Murphy like I'm not going to let them get away with this if Bob found out they would have been fired Behind Bar's. Dude swat leader piss me off I'm glad part 2 was made they didn't Turn against him.
Out of the thousands of films I've viewed, this film,is my definitive #1 :-) I'll never forget the feeling I had as a child(8 yrs old) watching this extravaganza!!!! I've only been that excited to the extreme with 2 other films,The Crow& Tim Burton's BATMAN!!! I remember a older gentleman sold recorded tapes from the factory& he had this one,OH BOY,OH BOY,was I going bonkers!!
Another 80s classic like back to the future , Ghostbusters , The Thing (1982) , The Fly (1986) , Gremlins (1984) , E.T. , Escape from New York etc. but good review
Mines To I'm 25 I Didn't know who he was until I was about 6 or 7 Parents Rented the Tape got use to it part one my favorite he Threw Clarence in the station and I was like police is Hating Robocop Helped them He wanted his Revenge Dick Jones would have got away Louis she was only one By him remember him I was like Robocop stabbed Clarence Killed Dick Jones for Murdering Bob police was not even helping He got his memory Back doctor's didn't know
I remember having a hard time Removing the sticker In the upper Corner why they didn't just put it in the plastic instead of the the White strip on top of the DVD.
One of the best films ever! Can you fly Bobby. I always laugh at when ED209 has it's first kill in the office because if you look closer when it kills, the guy is dead but the last few rounds his body almost got resurrected. I'm more than happy if there were no sequels, but don't hate the sequels as much I as used to.
The media only wants us to remember names. We're supposed to look at the new RebootCop and be interested in seeing it because it sounds like something we liked, pay them money, and keep them in business. We are not supposed to revisit the classics and skip lining their pockets altogether.
One of the greatest sci-fi action movies ever made...im happy the remake flopped...old school gory action practical sqibs, practical effects, stop motion, no cgi...the film still holds up after all these years
"An All Time Classic" is best line to describe this movie. In my opinion, Paul Verhoeven's best work. His direction in this is excellent. Just like some other fans, i also love the way scenes with Murphy remembering his past were done. There isn't single actor that did bad job in this movie which is from some reason very fucking rare, specially nowdays. Action scenes are great, considering that, like you said, you can actually see and understand what is happening onscreen. Btw, great joke with "magic legs" line. I laughed my ass off when you said it. Lol :) I know that many people think that it's nothing special, but i absolutely love unrated version. (Fuck MPAA) I always say this, but i wish that more older cult classics like Nighthawks, Cobra, Total Recall and both of the Conan movies could get same kind of uncut release. Both this and Robocop 2 are amongst many REAL action movies with which i grew up with and i will always be 100% fan of both movies. My only problem with them is how Robocop got special edition and stuff, but unfortunatly Robocop 2 is still so sadly underrated that it didn't got one aswell, which is too bad cause (you may know this) it also got cut down before theatrical release losing many great and interesting scenes and just like first movie, more graphic violence.
Good review as always man. To me robocop one and 2 are the only ones that happen to me. 3 was bad and the remake was even worse. I hate when they remake classics and the remakes be crap.
I only have one complaint about this movie: it's the scene where Robocop and Lewis are at the steel plant. Of all the abandoned places in Old Detroit they could've been hiding out in, why the place where Murphy got killed? What is she trying to traumatize him?
Yup They Messed up Target System if it wasn't fixed They Would have not been able to win the War. Swat leader fault for not listening to the other officers.
Great review Matt. I was just thinking maybe it should have been a new Robocop. Like "Robocop: solo unit, or Robocop: next gen" lol whatever the name but it wouldn't be Murphy. Like the Robocop project was successful so big cities get these units. So it's the continuation of this symbiotic relationship between man, machine, tragedy, and salvation. Probably would have been better, don't try to change the origins, but build on it. Lol still say Robocop was too slow. New one is silly fast, but still say at least be as fast as a man. His armor wasn't that strong, at least, very very least jogging speed. Anyway what do you think, new robo, not Murphy but a continuation of this universe? Think that would be better? (Hope my comments aren't too long.)
Good review I love robocop 1987 too good classic and I think it's better then the remake I never saw the remake yet but I do want to see it anyway and I hope you have a good day and take care man
Good review of a classic! The remake was pointless and a cash grab, the actors sucked(except for Gary Oldman), no blood or gore, lame, did anyone go see that crap? Which version do you prefer of the 1987 original, the R rated cut or unrated? I kinda' like the R cut more but the unrated is Paul's true vision!
Great Review!!! you are dead on Not sure why they even remade it A great example how lost Hollywood is digging out so many Films to re-make The Horror Genera was only the start of all the Crazy remakes I agree Robocop 2 is very under-rated for what it is (IMO it's on the same Level as the Original) Keep up the great reviews Big Fan!
Michael Jordan played baseball which he stunk at its the same with Paul Verhoven directing Showgirls finding out that's a genre he's not good at directing. It doesn't remove that he's still a amazing movie director.
Last Friday I did a sci-fi marathon where I watched The Avengers (2012), Robocop ( the unrated directors cut), the terminator ( the first one), and ended it with the theatrical cut of Blade runner. I love robocop it is a masterpiece of a sci-fi film.Fuck modern audiences I am saying this as an 18 year old. I really want a return to the old days of film. The only things I disagree with you on is the Sam Rami Spiderman Trilogy, the dark knight rises, and man of steel. Other then that I really do agree that they don't make awesome bad ass movies like Robocop and the worst part about is that a lot of the old great directors are getting old and won't be around forever. I want Hollywood to go back to it's roots and make great action movies and movies in general. I feel so angry that in my life time there have only been mediocrity and only a few gems here and there. TO SUM UP I FEEL YOUR PAIN :'( But great review for a classic movie of badassness
Good review as always ...superior movie in every way, shape and form ... I will never ever watch the remake of this The only gripe i have with that Robocop 1987 DVD is that they didnt use the Original Iconic VHS artwork ...with Robocop stepping outta the car with a cool red tint on his armour same with Terminator and the Infra-red Beam cover ...that also got shafted for a generic lame ass cover.
i thought the remake worked (Americas growing influence in the middle east) until we see carismaless Joel kinnerman & then it falls flat with no justifiction for robocops existence
Love the original film I agree with you about the remake though it was terrible should have kept the original design and kept the film like the original but add on to it🤖
To me, Robocop is Paul Verhoeven's best film. Incidentally, I bought this blu-ray disk today. By the way, there was a "rip-off" film of Robocop called "R.O.T.O.R." It is about a robotic policeman going berserk and a scientist who created stops him. Have you seen it? That film was a piece of crap big time. I must say it was literally a Z-grade film.

good job on the review of an epic film and a really cool sci fi action movie
Awesome review Matt. I really loved Robocop such a great classic. Just don't get practical effects anymore...

Love the original Robocop emotion & action at its finest
Amazing movie gets better every time i watch it. Not seen the remake and dont intend to.
Yup They Messed up Target
System if it wasn't fixed They Would have not been able to win the War. Swat leader fault for not listening to the other officers.

Your comments are fine, not too long at all. It would depend on the casting/script but I'd give that plot a chance and a look. Reminds me of I-Robot.
To be honest with you, Matt, you would definitely make a great TGWTG critic.
What about ocpcommunications?
Good review I love robocop 1987 too good classic and I think it's better then the remake I never saw the remake yet but I do want to see it anyway and I hope you have a good day and take care man

Today's movies have no emotional value for the audience. Great review.
Great review Matt!! Definitely a classic, the 80s were a FANTASTIC time for film. Great jon on the vidro mate!!
Great Review!!! you are dead on

in the uncut version his arm is blown off when emil shoots him then he screams and is shot to pieces
Can you fly, Matt?
Need to watch this old classic, it has been to long. The new one is - shit!

Correct he was in the last star fighter!
