    That was too short😁. Beautiful progress, especially on the train station. Wow, you did a lot and it’s gorgeous. Like a painting! Enjoy your book reviews also. I’ve got to get an audio book again for when I stitch. Although I like to watch flosstubes then too. Have a great start to February!

      Thank you. I also have to balance Flosstube with audiobooks. I like the audiobooks when I’m at my sewing machine because I don’t have to actually watch a screen. It’s nice to have options.

    Loved seeing your Christmas in the Valley quilt, I think it might be exclusive to SG Country Sampler, that is where I bought my pattern. I always appreciate the book recommendations too.

    I just finished the Midwife book. It was my first one by Bohjalian and I loved it. Thanks for his other book recommendations. Great Christmas quilt and of course your stitching is always spot on.

    Ten wips!! Oh, how I would love that! I probably will never know how that feels. I also have the wooden chair holder and I just love it. It always looked good but has surpassed my expectations.

      Even to me, 10 seems like too few! I’d like to get some of these older ones done, though. Kingdom of Books comes to mind. I’d agree….the wooden chair shelf thing surpasses my expectations, too. Pam

    Hi Pam! Great finish on the Pinwheel Parade - so cute! Thanks for the info on the armrest table - I’m looking for something like that. Thanks also for the book recommendations. I think I’ve read the Flight Attendant. It was very good. I’m looking forward to seeing your progress on your February WIPGO projects.

      I am never idle. I don’t get lost in cyberspace….except Flosstube, of course. I never just watch tv…I stitch or read. I go to bed early to read. In general, I hate wasting time. I’m also in a phase of my life where I have lots of free time. It is also winter in upstate NY. It’s good to have indoor hobbies in the dead of winter.

    It was nice visiting with you today while baking chocolate chip cookies! Hubby had to run to the grocery store for chocolate chips for me as I had used all but 1/4 cup of chocolate chips during Christmas baking. Haven’t baked a thing in the last month. Took me all afternoon to watch your video! I like Artful Offerings too and have a couple of their charts kitted up. I love your Christmas quilt! So charming! I have the Christmas charts by Hobby House and would love to stitch them. Just the other day I was wondering if I could stitch the larger one with some red Vikki Clayton silk I bought this winter. I’m still intent on stitching Christmas and winter WIPs and wrapping some of them up. Happy Stitching! 🧵🪡✂️

      I bought a couple different Vikki Clayton silk packs for a couple patterns. I haven’t started them but I think about it. Someone else said they prefer to remove the silk from the spools but I didn’t want to do that. What do you do? I like the spools but now I wonder if the thread unwinds too easily when you don’t want it to.

    Pam, I always look forward to your videos as I love what you stitch. Your rural post office will be spectacular, and I love your Madame La Fee piece. ( What fabric are you using, please?). I, too,have a number of her patterns,but have yet to start one. I do have an autumn piece kitted up, but I am a seasonal stitcher so it will have to wait. Thanks for always including your book reviews. You just give your viewers rich content that is such fun to watch. Thank you.

      I totally forgot to mention the fabric! It is Driftwood, 28 count Lugana from Fabrics by Steph. It was a fabric of the month in 2021. I am not familiar enough with her fabrics to know if it’s something she regularly carries. Thank you for stopping by and for the kind words. Pam

    What an interesting look at your work! If you don't mind me saying it was a little bit difficult camera angle as I seemed to be looking up your nose rather than at you! Also what is the Wipco you keep referring to? 🤔

      Yikes! My iPad wants to lean back and show the ceiling. There seems to be a different challenge every time based on where the lighting works and where I can find enough room for all the things I hope to show. Anyhow….Wipgo is the creation of Jessie Marie Does Stuff…a flosstuber who created a fun way to figure out what to work on next. It’s a bingo board with 25 spots to fill in with WIPs. Every month she calls 2 numbers. She created a Facebook group where people post their projects. It’s been going on for several years but this is the first time I’ve participated.

    I have had issues with sulky thread with the ends that have the wording on them popping off and then I don’t know what color # it is. So I had to start putting my sulky thread in floss-away bags so I could put the number on the bag. Sulky and weeks do not have good systems for the spool thread.

    The Lioness has been on my list since it came out. The first Chris Bohjalian book I read was The Double Bind. I remember gasping out loud at the reveal. I picked up Spare from the library Sunday. I’m going to have to set aside time everyday in order to get it back to the library on time. I have no opinion on it as of yet. The pinwheel parade is too cute!

    • @StitchingBetweenTheLines
      @StitchingBetweenTheLines  Рік тому +1

      YES….The Double Bind was worthy of a gasp. I was afraid to suggest that one because it isn’t for everyone! It was so good, though. Secrets of Eden and The Sleepwalker have stayed with me, too. Before You Know Kindness is another good one. I hope I sparked enough interest that people will give him a try. You sound like me when reading extra to get a book back to the library when it’s due. It’s like I’m mentally incapable of keeping a book past its due date. I will renew a book but then there are those times when you can’t. A librarian even suggested I just keep it and pay the fine. Gasp…that’s an actual strategy?! I had no idea.

    Pam, where do you find the authors you read. I get notifications from BookBub on a daily basis, but nothing seems to appeal to me.

    • @StitchingBetweenTheLines
      @StitchingBetweenTheLines  Рік тому +1

      My first stop at the library is always the ‘New’ shelf. I also used to always read the best seller list to know what was catching people’s attention. These days newspapers don’t seem to publish a list and if they do it’s lame without any details about the books. Sometimes at the library I pick up the little newspaper called Book Page. Otherwise I just keep an eye out for new books by favorite authors or if I read a book I really like I look to see what else the author has written. The Goodreads app sends a monthly email with new releases by authors I’ve read. It’s also a great way to keep a list of books that I want to read. I used to get the Bookbub emails but they never seemed to have anything I wanted to read. Without a list handy I also struggle finding something to read in the spur of the moment. I tend to avoid the authors who crank out a book every couple months. I’ve also tried a couple different podcasts about books and Booktube but just haven’t found anyone I want to stick with. I hope this helps you find a few books worth reading.
