- On 30th June 1890 the family of James O'Connor were tragically poisoned and died from eating tainted mussels they had harvested from a pond in their back garden at Seapoint Avenue. His daughter Mary (Moya) would be the only survivor; she would later tell a story that she was naughty and was sent to bed without any supper and that's what had saved her life (this was untrue).

Heartbreaking, You can love someone so much, but you can never love people as much as you can miss them.
Such a tragic story, 4 innocent children and their mother taken at such a young age.
What a heartbreaking story. Glasnevin cemetery is beautiful, I will do the tour some day. It's definitely on my bucket list. No pun intended..
Hi Steve & Lyndsey @reactingtomyroots I thought you might be interested in this one since you did Glasnevin Cemetery, it's the story of the O'Connor family (mother and 4 children) who died from eating poisonous mussels. Their headstone depicts an angel as the mother and 4 cherubs as the children, a very sad story.
Very sad indeed.
