    This was so lovely. And I agree 100%, creativity is like a muscle, whenever I have periods of low creativity it's always harder to come back but thankfully it all restores again :)

      Agreeeed. It's good to know that no matter how distant it feels, as soon as you get started the creativity will come back!

    As soon as the bells happened, all I pictured was Luke Danes yelling about the new bells in Stars Hollow. 😂

    Something that inspires me the most is coming into contact with people's stories. I also feel moved by certain animations and movies, but most of all, its talking to people. When they share either tiny stories or reveal past experiences that affected them to this day, that interests me the most. Engaging in conversations with topics alike the ones you mentioned in your video gets me inspired. As someone who loves drawing people, I feel that it is their stories that make me feel the most alive.

    For me, listening to my favorite music, like classical or from a tv show soundtrack, inspire me so much and light up those creative thoughts that have been stuck in my mind. Whenever I'm working on writing my book, I always have music playing in the background; it helps me channel my thoughts into the characters and the story, like if this were a movie or a tv show, this is what would be playing in the background.

      That made perfect sense! and I do the same thing! Sometimes those notes and random thoughts that we write when not thinking too hard turn out to be the BEST content to start with.

    Thank you so much for talking about how hard it is being a perfectionist and trying something new. I started my channel recently and it's hard knowing it's not up to where other Booktubers are, but I'll only get there by working on it and improving.

      I still have the same kind of thoughts, and I'm not even brand new to Booktube! All you can do is work on your own creative journey, and you'll figure it out! Best wishes with your channel :)

    I like to paint and write stories. So whenever I see beautiful artwork or reading a really good book, I try to make my own masterpiece. It's much harder than I think, but it takes practice and experimenting new techniques to get better. I love your videos.

    I completely understand what you are talking about. I have been a very busy person myself and it has been hard keeping my creativity alive. Your video was in a way a breath of fresh air as you have given me many ideas on how to keep my creativity and I appreciate that and you so much . I always enjoy watching your videos, I find them so calming and fun. Keep up the creativity !!!

    For me if I'm not reading novels and watching UA-cam videos like art, miniatures, or book videos my creativity drops off. I have to be intacking creative content to produce creative content.

    Whenever I need to feel inspired I usually explore other people's creative work, usually people whose work I have never experienced before, so it's sort of refreshing. I am also a hardcore introvert so when I feel this emptiness I try (*highlight "try"*) to interact with the world around me, or people I dont know so well. I also read about ancient civilisations and their myths and traditions and architecture. I personally think history is the second best raw material for ideas, right after personal & empathic experiences. Also I looooove this video! Please make one about your creative process when you write your poems. I love reading them, they are so inspiring and lovely and just so full of light. I write poems myself, so I would really like to know how you get into that creative process🙈

    ahhhh this video helped me so much with creativityyyy. but right now, my mental sTuFf isn't the best so I haven't been enjoying reading or writing as much, which is sad ): but I love being in nature. it gives me a sense of peace and calm and I can write poems better out there. movies also rEaLlY inspire me ? like, not really inspire me to create things, but they inspire me to have a great life lol. for example, I loved The Greatest Showman and it gave me such a happy outlook on life (sorry for the long comment)

    What you said about creativity and perfectionism is so true. I've wanted to start a UA-cam channel for years but I knew it wouldn't be great to start with so I didn't. I finally started a booktube channel this year and it has been a really good creative output in a year where I have been really stressed.

    I love your chatty videos. I would love to listen to you talking about the differences between living in a huge city (like NY) and a small town. And I mean emotionally and personally. Like, I think it's interesting the different kind of loneliness that people may feel in a small town and the city. I, for example, often need to go to a nice coffee place with lots of strangers around to be able to create. Some people in my life find it weird. Or that I like going to the movies alone (I just think being alone is so empowering sometimes). But people around me doing stuff on their computers, talking, walking their dogs,... it gives me so much energy. So I'm alone but not really. Less often I will stay at home and work for hours without stopping, but that is rare. I guess we change like the seasons, as you said. P.S.: your videos and pics and poems have been inspiring me as well ( a while back I drew a picture of you with a poem and I have been wanting to come back to it and improve it, now I feel more inspired to do so ;) )

    • @emmagreen1682
      @emmagreen1682  6 років тому

      I definitely relate to what you said about being alone feeling powerful! It's one reason I love being in NYC so much. I'll keep this topic for future chatty vids :)) Aww did you send me the picture you did?? I'd love to see it if you wanna tag me on social media

    • @saraj9754
      @saraj9754 6 років тому

      missemmareadsalot I'd love to hear about that :) and I'm glad more people feel the same way about it! And yes, I did send you a DM with a picture of the drawing on Instagram (I only follow people on Instagram, I don't actually publish stuff). And you told me you'd like more color on it (because I asked you, not out of the blue hahaha) and I've had a few ideas about how to redraw it, but I've been through a creativity drought. Now I am starting to feel inspired again and will redraw it soon enough :)

    Recently I've been getting my inspiration from tumbrl! There are so man cool stuff there I didn't know existed before!
    I know you are currently reading Lord of Shadows, so I was wondering how are you liking it so far? It was my favorite book from last year, so naturally I ask everyone who is reading it or has read it for their thoughts! Would *love* it if you made a review after you finish it!
    Great video as always!

    Do you have any recommendations for poetry books that aren't contemporary? And I love your videos, so relaxing!

      Oh, and the question you asked at the end of your video: I love painting my nails and creating designs on them. For example I painted a design for the movie Finding Dory when it came out and I also create designs based off book covers. My recent design was based off of A Court Of Frost And Starlight.

    What inspired you to start writing your own poetry?
    And I love going for walks, reading and journaling to boost my creativity x

    • @emmagreen1682
      @emmagreen1682  6 років тому

      I'm not sure how I started writing poetry to be honest! I think it evolved naturally because I too am a creative journaler.
