Hope that's flood insurance she speaks of (despite saying it never happened). Homeowners insurance does NOT cover flooding.

You can see these are older homes. These areas are built up and have been for decades. Newer homes would be built further from the water.
No, dams should be maintained! The big trillion dollar infrastructure bill was supposed to do this. They didn't do a thing but shaft us.
One of those flood bladder barriers would have prevented most of the home damage. They are good for more than 1 use too.

I was in Statesboro for this. I never saw this. I didn’t go near the rivers, but I was by the college and I saw no flooding.

In both Obama and Biden administrations they passed bills designating a colossal amount of money to “repair infrastructure.” NOT ONE PENNY OF IT WAS SPENT ON INFRASTRUCTURE. Who stole it? Remember Solyndra? Labor unions were GIFTED millions of it. No roads or bridges were repaired. University profs who donated to Democrats got big grants to do pointless stuff.

How many trillions was that infrastructure bill? WHAT DID THEY FIX? US!
A trillion is a drop in the bucket to catch up to the decades of lack of improvements on our infrastructure. Pay more attention to your local politicians and whether they support budgeting for your states infrastructure or not. You can't build a dam or a highway or anything else, for that matter, and expect it to last forever with no maintenance or improvements. If you don't like the federal government telling states what to do, then take matters into your own hands and get your state to allocate funds for this very thing. Destructive weather will only get worse in the future.

Flood plains are not based on 33 years, do your homework
Yes, based on 100 years. In FL I lived NEAR a 100 year flood plain. It was not allowed to build in it. Old houses already there could not add on, nor could they rebuild if damaged.
Flood insurance doesn't include Hurricane damage.....they will get out of paying because you didn't have a policy for Hurricane.
Otherwise, tell them you have water damage. Don`t tell them your house flooded or they`ll drop you.
Every time a hurricane was coming my parents would put the upholstered furniture on top of wood and other more water resistant material to get it higher up
I got tired of that and moved further inland when I got to adulthood It was just understood that water could rise. If we had two story I’m certain I would have been carrying it all upstairs

I hope they bought FEDERAL FLOOD INSURANCE. Traditional homeowners insurance excludes payment for floods.

most of the new built homes are on slabs. I understand it's cost effective to build with homes on slabs but I have to wonder how many of those homes will be destroyed in these storms

Also it can happen that storms are moving slowly than before and pour much more water down than when they just move over. In Germany we had Situations like these and it's was very unusual to have this much water in short time

I tend to see a lot of Bible related comments on these disaster videos.
Billions of dollars have been spent analyzing weather data to understand climate change. We don’t have a lot of time left to install mass quantities of wind and solar power equipment around the country and the world.
We’re still adding greenhouse gases every day to our atmosphere and we’re not heading in the right direction.
One thing that could help us greatly is “marine cloud brightening“. Please look that up. All the best to you,
Solar is extremely toxic. I should know. I have 45 panels. Wind is worse. What we do get better batteries is horrible, yet the greenies would rather pretend it doesn't happen. That said, better ways need to be found, and the more we push awful solutions onto people, the more rightful resistance there will be.
Wind & solar will NEVER power this world. People need to wake up to reality & facts, that stuff costs too much, doesn't work well & it creates more pollution than anything else! Educate yourself about the real source of them, all the way back to it's creation, how they're made, what materials are used, where they come from, who does the work, what they're paid, how long they last, what they do to the environment around them. Where they're disposed of when they're no good anymore. Like the wind farms killing whales & ruining land. Ever seen one of the dumps filled with EV's or the wind/ solar farm trash? What a field of solar panels does to farm land, & all the chemicals draining into groundwater? The cost? One hailstorms damage?
You have a rude awakening coming if you learn all that. Research it honestly, for yourself. Don't ignore & keep pushing wind & solar. People have good intentions but ignorance is costly.

The first part is true but the second part is nonsense. Renewable energy is a must have, energy saving is very important especially the USA is using a lot of energy. Repairing the natural is also a good tool to fight against climate change. Nobody needs geoengineering or other rubbish
@@imtheeastgermanguy5431 the fossil fuel industry has been Geo engineering the atmosphere for hundreds of years by burning fossil fuels and putting ghg’s into it.
If we don’t reflect more of the suns energy back to space, with whiter clouds over those dark oceans, billions, and I do mean billions of people are going to die. And it’s not going to be pretty.
Look up Dr. Salter and marine cloud brightening And learn about it. It really does make sense.
