Aussie - Some rain for dry SA, WA, VIC, colder NSW

A wintry southerly will drive down temperatures along the southern side of Aussie this week bringing welcome rain into dry parts of WA, SA and VIC in particular. In fact for SA this may be a much better chance to get rain than previous weeks.
As usual, not everyone will get the relief they need - but some will get a good boost.
While a high pressure zone does follow this southerly it’s short lived - so another cold front will move along the southern coastline this weekend too.
Meanwhile over the Tasman Sea a large low remains in place driving in more colder southerlies for eastern TAS, VIC, the ACT and NSW.
To the north QLD and NT look mostly settled and dry - a few isolated coastal showers are possible FNQ.

I think I enjoyed your weather updates in February!! Now they are just too cold for enjoyment, especially as it doesn't seem to matter how many clothes I put on, I am still cold!! It wouldn't be so bad if our utility bills costs were lower but this year it is just too expensive to turn on a heater of any description for any length of time. Staying in bed with a hot water bottle seems the best option!! 🥶

So Merry Wetness for Adelaide (at last) and after 'stuck Highs' for a few months in the Bight, we have this week almost a 'stuck Low' in the Tasman - driving winter southerlies up the east coast to Seedknee before maybe visiting New Zealand. At least WA and SA have unstuck rain coming, so cheers to the weather gods and cheers to Phil, chief soothsayer.

Sydney has failed to reach the BOM forecast Maximum temp for the last four days. They have been wrong by a total of 7.2 degrees C in just four days.
Why are they always overestimating the maximum temps ?
Many people could see from the strong low and southerly winds that it was going to be very cold.
It seems that they just don't want to forecast cold temperatures for some reason.
