Congrats! Very easy to set up and take down. If it’s windy and you are by yourself, anchor the wind side of your shack during setup. It makes it much easier. Thanks for watching!
Nice!! Just picked up today a good used 949i for $265 cad , plenty of room for my son and I with the chairs and heater set up exactly like you had mocked up..... Have a good hardwater season!! 🎣🧊🐠 #tightlines
Hello fellow Manitoban ! Merry Christmas ! Good video ! I tried today to call The Fishin Hole as they have the 949i on sale . They wouldn't even answer the phone. Busy with boxing day sales , I guess. I will try going there tomorrow. Hopefully they have one left when I get there. It looks like a nice tent.
Merry Christmas! The 949 is awesome and I actually upgraded to the 949i. It’s on sale at the Fishin Hole and I think insulated is the way to go. Worth every penny. Good luck tomorrow!
That’s great feedback! I just upgraded to 949i, I was so impressed with the non insulated that I went and got the 949i. I think it is worth every penny. Thank you for your comments!
@@footprintoutdoors6144 did you notice big heat difference between the 2. About to buy a used one off craiglist but don't want to spend the money if the non insulated dosent stay warm
@@joshuahansen636 honestly the upgrade to an insulated version is worth every penny! It shelters you better from strong winds, it seems to warn up faster and keeps the heat in. Definitely a big difference in warmth. I use less propane this way too.... I would highly recommend insulated over non insulated.
Nice man, just got this check myself in him sitting inside of it right now for the 1st time and I sure do love it video was good now let's catch some fish
Ha! They are full wool Woolrich pants! I have the full outfit and hat. If you are ever out on the ice with me you’ll see me wearing them. Waaaaay to thick and warm to be pjs. Thanks for your comment!
Thanks for posting this. I just picked one up today and a few of the poles are maybe too long, they "S" towards the inside of the tent instead of bowing outwards. They also don't stay when pushed or when the hub is rotated into the right position. Have you noticed anything similar, this is my first ice tent so not sure if that's normal! Just doesn't seem right...
Congratulations on your tent! I haven’t had that issue, some have said you need to manually rotate the hub (which you also stated) and that you can manually adjust the poles and should be at 90 degrees. If you bought new, I would suggest you contact Eskimo. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the reply & appreciate your input. After years of suffering on the cold Alberta lakes, looking forward to some shelter - the tent definitely has some nice features. Good luck this season!
Yo have you taking it out on a windy day ?? I'm in the need to upgrade because my sides will close on me I feel like there to weak, maybe I need a sled shanty instead
I have had it out on windy days, I now use the insulated version and have been out every weekend with it. To prevent the sides from buckling in I use the straps attached to the hubs on the windy side. Hopefully you found this helpful. Thanks for watching!
Awesome vid! Great content on your channel!
Just picked one up yesterday so good to know you didn't struggle with it too much.
Congrats!
