Did you know about material-level displacement? You can have the material *itself* be literally 3D (Cycles only, experimental). A subdivision is still required, in adaptive mode
Hello Max! May I ask at 3:04 ur asset browser material shader ball how did it get so big and clear? How to change the default shader ball like yours? My blender 4.1 default shaderball looks so tiny and not great
I believe the plans are just based on the number of generations you can create per month so if you just want a few then pick the cheapest. If you want to really play with it you'll want the unlimited prompts option. However, there are free alternatives to Midjourney. You can use image generation in bing chat if you make an account and there are free ways to use stable diffusion on your own computer if you have a graphics card or I think there are still some ways to make generations with it free online.
The modifier shows the displacement in solid view while the node only shows it in rendered view. Either works but just is easier to see what’s happening with the modifier
In the DeepBump node, I can't click 'generate normal map'. Like the button is disable. Am I missing something? My blender is 4.2.1. Update: You have to click on the 'Base Color/albedo' node in Shader then select 'generate normal map' under DeepBump.
Maybe double check that the addon is setup correctly inside the addon preferences (edit > preferences > addons > deepbump). I remember there was some extra step to get this one working properly
Ai is tricky for artists because it can be quite threatening especially to 3D artists. But honestly these tools are going to allow us to create more on a faster level. There was once a time when digital cameras were a threat to "real filmmakers" and with time it's shown that one doesn't have to die to make room for another, or even that they are mutually exclusive. Hype to see more videos from you and you helped inspire me starting my own 3D channel. Thanks for the great tutorials!
@@neuvatn That's true, I didn't even think of that, just in my experience I have already seen people using things like AI to override the need for 3D specialists, like texture artists and concept artists who use primarily 3D workflows.
We should all be concerned about it. Until we as creators have the rights to not have our data be trained to compete against us, every artist no matter whether they work in 2d or 3D, should stand together. Artist are already disrespected enough, it's best if we watch out for one another.
@@gegi4577 Well it can do 3d-esque type "animations" (Pixar like videos) now so yeah we should also be worried about it, no let us ALL worry be about it.
It has to be cycles. As soon as you start using displacement maps and/or the displacement modifier, you have to use cycles. Eevee doesn't support displacement textures.
i still dont understand how you make money from enviromental art, like what is your niche? cuz im pretty sure it would be extremely hard to find people looking for just enviromnetal renders
You mean when he shares amazing tutorials to help other artists grow? Or gives away huge asset libraries? Or designs in depth courses for intermediate artists looking to level up their 3D work?
You are using internet which of course runs on coal. YOU are harming the environment to tell someone else they are harming the environment. Write your congressman instead. Actually, paper is made from trees and so are pencils. They are both transported using diesel trucks AND deforestation. The only answer is to walk to your congressman's office and tell him yourself. But don't wear Nike or Adidas. They hay both been convicted of multiple environmental crimes. Don't wear shoes at all. Fashion yourself some sandals from sustainable bamboo. No don't do that either, bamboo is an invasive species (it harms the environment) Barefoot. That's the ticket. Throw away your cell phone first and walk nakedly to your congressman's office and tell him that Max Hay is using harmful AI and something needs to be done about it. I'm assuming you have a congressman and I'm very sorry for that. That's just my privilege showing. Walk to where ever you need to, naked with no resources whatsoever, and tell the receptionist about Max. He's out of control and needs to be stopped
You are soo extremely generous... you provide most of your assets and packs for free so that even others can make art like you... huge respect ❤
Great clear and concise tute with fantastic end results, as always. Nice work Max.
This is what I am waiting for 🔥🔥❤️✌️
You*re awesome, dude! Thanks for sharing your warehouse of knowledge with the world!
i've been waiting for this tutorial for so long time ,man really thank you its really helpful ❤❤❤❤
Super handy, mate. Thank you a lot for sharing!
Stellar! Information streams, stimulating dreams! (x-dream)
Can I do a simple request, recommendation? Have you considered adding a keystroke visualizer?
Generous as always~appreciate,Max🥰
Great work, as always, Max.

You don't need to save generated textures, just activate 'fake user' and it will not disappear.
he never fails to read my mind
Thanks for the textures, very useful.
7:26 I don't know how it does that, it just does!
Plaze always open screenscast to it will be easy for us
What subscription plan are you using with Midjourney and why?
It won't let me do the tutorial in Discord without a subscription.

What is the advantage of using the displacement modifier over doing displacement in the shader?
The shader Option is only working with certain raytracing based renderengines
Really cool explanation. Thanks😃
Can you share your blender UI interface?
what is the difference between using the displacement map in the shader editor and as a modifier? What is the best solution for you?
The modifier shows the displacement in solid view while the node only shows it in rendered view. Either works but just is easier to see what’s happening with the modifier
Good question, I wondered that.
Great. Thx for the assets
Which graphics card do u use? Viewport is so fast. I think it's something rtx4000 series or 3090
Yeah RTX 4090

Oh sorry you got it already 👍
@@maxhayart thank you for responding anyway 🤗
Can we a tutorial on how to make books plz
I'm sure I am doing something wrong, but there are several parts that I can't get to work.
Do you have a blend file available?
0:26 curious if there's a way to hide these pesky parent-line dashes?
max this is cool
What is subscription plan your are using in mid journey.
What is the best free one to get started something so I can make videos for our band
u so goated bro

I think you meant especially 2D artists... It already happened to them. Can't be especially 3D... That makes no sense.

"especially to 3d"? i doubt it. i believe 2d artists should be more concerned about it

Nice
Yea mate
Should on complex ring structure uv wrap
Great use of ai added to a workflow
have you tried materialize? its way better than deep bump, super easy to use and free
Link?
cool
thnk yewww
ur greatt
Eagerly opened your video after seeing mid journey i got disappointed
Did you use evee or cycles
Towards the end you can see he's using Cycles.
It has to be cycles. As soon as you start using displacement maps and/or the displacement modifier, you have to use cycles. Eevee doesn't support displacement textures.
Can you please make one video for Eevee?
Deepbump is paid or free ?

Free
I don’t really see a difference from googling an actual picture of ancient stone Mayan art and using it in your work… you’re “stealing” then too.

Eh, AI? Why tho?
... Unfollow, im no supporting art thief

sad that you're using genAI. Art Theft and harming the environment is a big L
It's a tool. Might as well use it if it is not banned.
Womp womp
@@kratossand-fd5br yeah. a tool that steals art. great tool indeed.
Bro knows nothing except tapping, Gen ai learns from the arts not steal it lol, you can learn it too
