It would be more historically accurate if you were mowed down as soon as you spawned because a lot of people were killed as soon as the bay door dropped
I'm personally looking forward to larping like this being a viable option for fun gameplay, unlike how it is at the current time when you usually need the best stuff to have a chance at winning :L
Thompsons were not standard loudout for infantry squads. The official TO&E would have squads with 11 Garands and 1 BAR. Six submachineguns (M1s or M3s) were issued to each company to be distributed at the company commanders discretion- aka usually before planned assaults which would include urban, wooded or other terrain where close quarter fighting was expected. Of course, in practice, there was a lot of variance. By late 1944 two BARs were basically standard. One platoon is documented as having pooled all its BARs in just one of its three squads (etc. etc.).
I'm always down for historical accuracy, so I really liked this video. As for the loadout ideas, I have a fun one - Volkssturm. Play Berlin Axis with just Volkssturm squads (including the premium one), equipped with a random mix of bolt action rifles, but mostly the Kar98k Kriegsmodell and the VG 2 as well as the MP 3008, EMP 44 and VG 1-5 for assaulters. No binoculars, no flasks, no TNT charges and a random mix of grenades - frag, smoke, molotov, TNT pack or none. And optionally, dressed in the civilian uniforms (IIRC there is one or two appearance options that aren't uniforms but rather period correct civilian clothes).
@@matthewjones39 Did they not…? I was genuinely asking as I thought being smaller than most other equipment binos and canteens would require less materials to make and thus be easier to obtain.
I have a historical accurate squad for my Germans, it’s just the first rifle squad with an mg34, and engineer and a radio guy, the rest are rifles and they all use mannlichers lol the squad shreds, plus there’s like 10 of them
@@jasperoliger if they're equipped with mannlichers then they're not accurate. Frontline troops didn't use the m1895, only the volksturm and some police units had them.
@joaogomes9405 that's what I'm saying. The first rifle squad you get from the Germans are in volksturm gear by default, except on the Africa maps.... Also the Frontline troops absolutely used the m1895, during the Battle of the bulge and the defense of Germany (they were running out of kar 98's by then) 👍
Small correction, the tank crew should have been equipped with M3A1s, as they were supplied to tank crews over the Thompson due to being cheaper, more compact and lighter.
@matthewjones39 yes, each tank was supplied with two grease guns, one for the hull crew, so driver and machinegunner, and one for the turret crew, so commander, gunner and loader.
Some late small correction: the radio operator would use a m2 carabine, not a M1 grand, the grand is very heavy, + the radio equipement would be hard to carry.
@HeyQuadro I have a question about binoculars, do you think it would be balanced if you could mark soldiers with them as you can mark tanks? Or maybe planes?
I some things to ask and say about the M10 GMC after watching this video. First: Why create and use the M18 Hellcat when the M10 GMC has better armor than it? Second: Even if the M18 Hellcat was faster, the M10 GMC already had great mobility being based on the M4 Sherman. Third: The M10 GMC could have been equipped with electric turret drives instead of simple hand cranks like its successor the M36 Jackson, but why wasn’t that the case? I hope you guys could give some answers.
1st: Disclaimer; This one is pure hindsight. Even if the M10 did have better armor than M18... For the most part, it's not significant. The German didn't put Heavy machine gun on everything like the US did. So basically, when you're facing any vehicles it would be 7.92 that both M18 and M10 could withstand or anything bigger that would instantly blow them both up anyway. 2nd: While the M10 is not slow, the hellcat is not just faster, it's a lot faster, with way better acceleration. Basically the Hellcat could get into the position way faster than one would expect a 'tank' could do, and an unexpected strike is always a powerful strike. And the acceleration of the M18 could make it maneuver a lot better for repositioning the position, baically you can't hit what's not there anymore. But this would also depend on the user. Some units prefered the M18's mobility while the others prefered 'extra' armor of the M10. 3rd: In late 1943 there was an M10 tested with an Oilgear hydraulic traversing motor but at that point just use 76 M4 tbh. And before the 76 M4 was put into the production, TD for the American is pretty much the cheapest and the fastest way to put firepower on a mobile platform down the range. Anything that would add complexity or were deemed 'unnecesssary' were pretty much removed.
Normandy is pretty much the answer to all questions regarding "best campaign". Its simply the only one players are always active in. Berlin Axis can be good too, but Berlin is typically dominated by high level players with weapons that will absolutely stomp everyone else
Of course the most historical part of the video ,the victory!
As the founding fathers intended

skill issue
absolutely agree. You can win with anything, but it does feel really bad when you run into strong teams and youre just playing with like K98's.
15:35, "Quadro!" lmao

I thought NCO's were allowed to choose between Thompsons and Garands? Maybe thats a video game myth im subscribing to
Honestly, the flame troopers are so op. So much fun making jerry crisps. And the sound of them coming closer to you is terrifying

ive actually done several Volkssturm videos already
Why no binos or flasks?
@@chewcacachewpipi8879Are you saying the Volkssturm had those?

@@chewcacachewpipi8879 I think you misunderstand the concept of the Volkssturm. No equipment was really being produced for them.
We have a winner! PING! PING! PING!
This should be brought back btw engineers and anti tankers irl normally carried smaller rifles like M1 carbines
Great game. Its so much more fun to use stuff outside the meta.

Only two would actually be equipped to my knowledge.

"We got so many bodies on this point now"
As a Germany main... jealous.
Cant wait for a historical accurate soviet video
14:49
Bro got 11 kills using just a grenade.
historical loadouts are always a ton of fun, I do it just cause I can most of the time.
my favorite part of this video was when it was historically inaccurate
2:48
Oh my god, you're war face is terrifying...
Should have used the M1 Bazooka. I could be wrong but I don’t think they used the M9 in Normandy
from by (limited) research, it looks like it was
bro needed a excuse to not suffer, let the man cook!!
Some late small correction: the radio operator would use a m2 carabine, not a M1 grand, the grand is very heavy, + the radio equipement would be hard to carry.
Correction: the m1 carbine as the m2 wasn’t deployed till the final battle on the island of Okinawa
4:50 don’t mind if I squeeze through
That series of grenades was awesome.
shouldn't the radiomen and at-gunners have M1 carbines?
artillerymen had m1 carbines. I dunno about AT-gunners, maybe.
super fun video idea really intertaning
Glad you think so!
Do the same thing with historical accurate guns but also real life movments
@HeyQuadro I have a question about binoculars, do you think it would be balanced if you could mark soldiers with them as you can mark tanks? Or maybe planes?
yeah it'd be fine IMO
Do the same with other nations please 🙏
Good stuff

Quadro what do you think is best campaign to play as the Axis?
Tunisia obviously
Normandy is pretty much the answer to all questions regarding "best campaign". Its simply the only one players are always active in.
Berlin Axis can be good too, but Berlin is typically dominated by high level players with weapons that will absolutely stomp everyone else
Next you should do the japanese or the british.
why is there so meny bots? the game lacks players or what?
@@DarkIsToNight i know this. But alot of The “players” in a game is in fact bots playing
Because there are too many theaters to play and few players are playing them thats why bots are present.I hope it gets patched by the merge.
In Normandy, there arent. This game was full at the start (players tend to leave, though).
Other campaigns its because lack of players
The merge was a mistake “BaLaNcED”
