      @@ProjectsPat for what its worth. I have watched a couple other videos where they installed the hole for the counter balance shaft 180 out from what u did. Just a heads up, I may have seen it wrong or maybe they did it wrong. Just wanted to let u know.

      thandrewiy may have been how the half was oriented. Inhope I didn't install it backwards. That would suck. I do remember checking many times that the hole was pointed up

      @@ProjectsPat I know I almost didn't want to say anything. But he said in his video install it up. Which when the case was sealed and flipped would have it down with kinda makes sense unless the oil in the bottom covers it completely.

      @ProjectsPat  4 роки тому

      @@1clnsdime1 I read some more on it and it seems that the orientation is not.that important as long as the oil level is good. fingers crossed.

    Solid work and great videos series! I rebuilt a 720 (wish I had quality videos like this during that process) and am picking up a 97 and 99 XP. The 99 has a 951 thats having issues (not turning over). After watching your videos, I'm opting to just rebuild if its not a simple fix (i.e. bad starter).

      Thanks! Sounds good man. I still haven't taken it on the its about finished but I need the carb and rave valves tuned. I'm going to take it to someone for the tuning.

    They sell specific shims to align the pump and are very very thin - way thinner than the washers you used in order to fine tune. You’re right to align the pump to hull and then pump to engine

    Wow I have older sea doos none of those plastic spacers , glad I did not have to doo all that .I just had to put tool on and adjust motor mounts with shims . great job I know it's a pain but I got mine done too , keep it going

    How did you get to the nut which is on the bottom stud of the manifold (above the carbs) ? I need to clean the gummed up carbs. Thanks for any help.

      I bent an open end wrench. They also make a thin walled wrench to fit there

    good day, i have installed a recon 951 DI 2004 and am having some issue with the motor reving up and down. I have had the 4 injectors clean but no change. do you have any other ideas to what might be cauring the issue. I am running with 50 to 1 oil gas mixture as per the manufactures recommendation for running in.

    That shaft is so long because some sea doo have the engine at the front of the haul as mine does 99 xp 951

    Did you ever figure out what that hole in the hull inside near the rear with the silicon over it was? I think it was under those hoses

    • @ProjectsPat

      It appeared to be a reseal job. I pulled the boot out, cleaned all the old sealer and revealed it

    Can I just remove the couple Allen bolts on the back of the motor to disconnect it from the drive shaft or does the drive shaft have to be pulled out by removing the pump

    • @ProjectsPat
      @ProjectsPat  4 роки тому +1

      You can disconnect drive shaft and leave it in

    Did you torque the motor mounts to the hull and engine? Or just snug them?

    • @ProjectsPat
      @ProjectsPat  2 роки тому

      I didn't use a torque wrench. Just felt it out.

    Nice series. I have two 2000 Seadoo GTX 951. One has a broken ring and not sure about the other yet. I have the one with the broken ring out with top end removed. The walls look good but piston and bottom side of head is chewed up pretty good. Could I just order another standard size piston so I don't have to re-bore or re-sleeve? Was there any indication that you needed to do the bottom end also? You have an email address. I have some questions that I would like to ask on this build before I get started.

    • @ProjectsPat
      @ProjectsPat  4 роки тому

      My. Bottom appeared good but i replaced the crankshaft anyway. If the walls aren't scratched up you could just measure to see if its within spec and such. This was my first time building a 2stroke
