This show was so ahead of it's times. Seriously amazing story and production quality, especially having being written and produced decades ago on a weekly schedule.
Arguably one of the best episodes in the entire series. Also idk if anyone told you this yet or not but since Naruto was a weekly show airing every single week nonstop for years, the staff prioritised certain episodes and those select few episodes looked absolutely phenomenal. The main animators and directors worked on those episodes and that's why the animation went super crazy in those selected episodes. Ep 19 is one of them. In fact it's the first priorized episode in the entire series that went through this process. If you notice it, this ep had amazing 2D animation which was not always this smooth in previous episodes. In future you'll experience these kinds of episodes once in a while. I won't give you numbers but whenever you feel like the animation increased or budget increased, it usually means that you are watching a special prioritised episode.
Fun fact: The Naruto Great Bridge (Naruto Ōhashi) actually exists in Japan. This bridge is famous for the whirlpools that can frequently be seen from it. People call them the Whirlpools of Naruto (Naruto no Uzumaki). So the main character, Naruto Uzumaki, was named after this.
What they realized is Haku inflicted non mortal wounds on Sasuke. Just leaving him almost-dead. The same way she did with Zabuza when she saved him while pretending to kill him
One of my favorite arcs of the entire series and I don’t think it’s in my top 5! Just shows how epic this show is! This is only the beginning my friend
Honestly naruto as a one shot is perfectly shown all the way to this episode, it basically opens and hns and closes the only real ninja mission they ever showed in the show, like the whole haku arc feels more like an actual manga than a shonen jump show, with the next arc being when it becomes a proper shounen, a bit of me wishes the show would've kept the maturity of this arc all the way through
That line is in the English dub, I don't like to watch animes in English since they are bad for the most part, but in Naruto, episodes 17, 18, and 19 are actually better in the English dub.
@@d-hunter9801 I disagree. One difference I hate is how after Zabuza cries and shows emotion, he goes sum like "what, cat got your tongue? Are you so surprised to see ninjas are human too?" Which makes no sense, but in JP he gives Naruto the cred and admits Naruto was right and that maybe it's impossible to become a tool after all. That difference is honestly huge to me. But to each their own ofc.
THIS was the episode that convinced methis was going to be my new favourite show! Back then I had to buy season per season. But the feeling YOU probably have right now.... Man I'm so jealous of it :D When you realise the quality of what you've just started and you know there's still a SHIT TON for you to watch! You can't stop smirking :D Enjoy!
What an episode. Gets me every time. The arc is definitely too slow, but the pay-off is great. Even if it's bittersweet, it's great, and it's iconic within the series
Episode 19 was my very first one. After that i was hooked. If you have time you should watch the dub version of ep19. I feel like the dialogue is FAR better in english.
Yeah I agree, Naruto has a crappy English dub, however, I have to praise the English dub in episodes 17, 18, and 19, those episodes are fantastic and are even better in the English dub and that says a lot since I usually hate English dubs.
The English dub is so cringe here and carried by nostalgia. Seriously “your words cut deeper than any blade” is incredibly bad and much worse than Zabuza simply telling Naruto to stop talking. That line is so unnatural and forced, and not something Zabuza would say in that situation. It’s much more natural for him to tell Naruto to stop talking as his whole character was him trying to be ruthless and having a killer mentality. Naruto’s dub is great, this scene is the worst example of it tho
Would love to watch all the uncensored / manga being animated even kakashi hand was through and stuck on haku’s chest when I last watched the anime few years ago now it’s just soft generation fr

he
Haku is male so it's a "he".
The first arc is completed. Heading straight into the next one with no pause. It's good stuff.

I’m so glad you’re watching one of my all time favorites!
Ten years ago I didn't I cry in this episode, but now I do it every time I see Zabuza dying besides Haku😢
ive been binging this today but that sad music always defeats me and here i am crying in bed at 3 am on a work day 😭
You are the coldest person ever😅... how no 1 tear in this episode ... feels like I am so sensitive to be full in tears while watching this.
"Your words cut deeper than any blade" yo where that line at

Zabuza when he layed next to dead Haku: "Damn ... should have tapped dat earlier ..."
I think this episode in particular is way better in ENG DUB, would love to see your reaction on that one.
Zabuza is on akatsuki level too bad he ended the series early

Shippuden opening when
In manga Zabuza decapitated Gato.
Now, that's warmup is over, we can get to the actual story.
