The BioLite FirePit Carry Bag is NEW in 2021 and designed to fit the BioLite FirePit and all its accessories. Here's some background on design details and decisions that went into making this product:
✔️ Bag design covers ENTIRE FirePit: keeps car interiors and storage areas clean and free from any leftover ash or dirt (based on great feedback from customers).
✔️ Made with durable coated canvas that makes it SUPER easy to clean with a just a sponge and some soap & water.
✔️ Can fit the ENTIRE FirePit lineup (yes, including the Lid): the G-Hook and Loop design can scale up or down for a secure fit no matter what's in the bag.
✔️ Doubles as a firewood sling and can easily haul bundles of fuel to your campfire.

I like that this bag can carry everything...will BioLite in the future combine the solar carry bag with this one?

Hey Jessalyn! Great question -- we are not planning on combining the solar carry bag with this design. A little background on why:
In the few years since the solar carry cover has been out on the market, we received a lot of feedback from customers (through reviews, writing in, chats on social media) that ultimately what people wanted from their bag was a sturdier ability to store and transport the FirePit + Accessories and that many folks were charging up their FirePit by detaching and powering up in between burns at home.
We got feedback that the open-bottom design of the solar carry cover made it difficult to pack up and put FirePit in the back of a car/truck without worry of getting ash in your interior or on the shelf when you got home. And, as the FirePit line continued to expand with new cookware, utensils, etc, we wanted to offer a solution that could fit the entire lineup, which the solar carry bag could not.
So, the decision was made to pursue a more durable carry bag design that could fully enclose the FirePit (and all add-ons) and focus more on hauling the unit and firewood than trying to integrate a solar-panel. For anyone still interested in a solar solution, we offer [2] Solar Panels (www.bioliteenergy.com/products/solarpanel-5-plus) that could easily be used to re-charge the airflow plack (in addition to being able to charge lots of other devices at your campsite!). A benefit of using those panels is their sundial + kickstand design and Maximum Power Point Tracking help you get the most power possible instead of just catching what you can with the flat solar panel on the carry bag. Additionally, we got feedback that FirePits weren't always in sunny locations, so detaching the airflow pack and pairing it with a solar panel in a sunny spot was easier than trying to move the entire unit to grab some sun. Hope that helps provide some context! Thanks for writing in.

any plans on making the fire pit use the same electric generating that the biolite camper stove does?

Hey! Thanks for writing in. No plans at this time. The FirePit's design is to radiate heat outward, offering the rolling flames of a typical campfire (fire & airflow going horizontal). BaseCamp and CampStove - the models you're referring to - are designed to concentrate flames and heat, making it ideal for thermoelectric conversion (fire & airflow going vertical). If we put thermoelectrics in the FirePit, you'd get very little electricity relative to the size of the fire and it would cost upwards of $400-$600 - we didn't want to just do tech for tech's sake. The FirePit+ airflow pack detaches easily and with runtimes of up to 30 hours per charge, you can recharge easily at home or from a BioLite SolarPanel or powerbank in between use. If you've got any additional feedback or details on desire for thermoelectrics in FirePit, happy to share it with the team!
