Hi Shannon, when my children were two and three, we made cinnamon applesauce ornaments. I stored them in an old margarine tub with wax paper in between them when the holidays were over. My children are now 32 and 33, and I still put the ornaments out every year. Believe it or not, they have maintained a cinnamony smell to this day. I can’t wait to get them out again this Christmas, and enjoy that wonderful smell for another year!
I made the cinnamon ornaments with my kids and grandkids. We had so much fun making them and they smell so amazing all season. They lose their scent after a year but I found mixing a little cinnamon in warm water and lightly brushing them for the next year and they smell great again.
I love anything Gingerbread! These are so cute! I did the applesauce/cinnamon ornaments with my grandchildren a few years back. My house smelled so nice!
I tell the Truth. You are 😊 So glad I found your channel.Went to Hobby, touted you loudly,, 3 trips & got my teeny tiny cookie cutters , from other video. It was a God thing 😇 Thanks so much .
Adorable!!! I am making a gingerbread train and truck for my kitchen. The gingerbread dough is something I will try. Thank you!!!! They were all so cute!!!
Really great ideas. I want to make some of the cinnamon ornaments. I love cinnamon everything. Thank you for sharing and have a blessed evening. 😘❤️🤗🙏🏻❄️⛸👼🏻☃️🛷 Lisa Palmer
As always Shannon, all of your diys are so cute!😊Your jars are adorable! Your card is so cute! My favorite is your candle silhouette, so pretty! As always Shannon, thank you for sharing all of your hard work, creativity, talent and inspiration! Stay safe, healthy and positive! God bless you and your family!🙏❤️🇺🇸😊🌲
All these ideas are so so cute. I bought the ingredients last year to make the gingerbread and never did. Will have to this year. Loved all your ideas. That will be a fun crafting day with my granddaughter 😍😍
We have done gingerbread houses with graham crackers many times and usually use a serrated knife and saw crackers and that works great. We also have spritzed them with water to soften them some but that is slower because you almost have to let them dry before using the pieces in your house.
When my kids were younger we would save the leftover various candies from their Halloween hauls to use to decorate the graham' cracker gingerbread houses
Shannon thank you so much. These are all so fun and within my skill set. Thx for sharing and for taking the guess work out of ‘what will I make next’? God Bless❤
love this! The cinnamon applesauce ornaments, I've made before and the rule of thumb was always same amount of apple sauce to cinnamon. Makes your house smell wonderful! Shannon, you are so talented. Love love love all of these and so cheap!!!! The granddaughters and I are going to be making a lot of these!!
For the cinnamon ornaments you can also let them air dry just flip them over every once and while. Also if you have a bulk section at your grocery store that’s probably the cheapest cinnamon. That’s where I get mine. 😉😉 If you cut your cinnamon dough into the house shapes you can glue them together and make a fake gingerbread house that will keep until next year.
Hi Shannon! Don't know where to start...Ummm, you had me @ Gingerbread! Too many cute things and ALL very practical. I've made faux G'bread before but never used hot glue to hold them together. Ingenious! Tfs... Blessings from Iowa, L
I absolutely love these gingerbread DIYs. I'm going have to create a few of these with my oldest grandson. He's 9 and I want him to love crafting like his MeMe. I remember making gingerbread cookies and crafting with my late grandmother around the holidays. PS did you find my comment with the video suggestions?! If not, I can resend it or send it to your email address.
Hi Shannon 👋. To cut the graham crackers use a fine mist spray bottle to dampen them on your desired cut line. Make your cut with a thin knife or craft blade then leave to dry. You can also put them in the oven on low to dry before assembling your creation. I like to cut mine on the cookie sheet so they don't fall apart when transferring them to one (cookie sheet) and into the oven
Looks like you were using a 1/2 cup measuring cup instead of a 1 cup for the applesauce. Thanks for sharing the recipe - I've been wanting to try making these.
Thanks so much Kathleen! I enjoyed decorating with gingerbread last Christmas in our kitchen... hoping our kitchen Reno is done in time for me to decorate again this year... we will see 🤞🏻
Love the Gingerbread ideas! For the graham crackers, I've seen it where you can stick those to the cardboard milk cartons to use as a base to keep them from falling over. I might experiment with using a sharp knife an maybe misting the cookie to get it to cut clean for the triangle shapes.
Such cute ideas Shannon. I remember my son making the gingerbread ornaments in school. I still have one of them. They are so nice to make as gifts too. Love all of these projects.
These were absolutely adorable & inspiring!! Great job Shannon! I loved them all - each one was better & better! I even like the simple one at the end! Thank you ❤
I made a batch of the cinnamon applesauce ornaments over 5 years ago. Hardly any have broken, I store them in a gallon ice cream bucket, & they still smell awesome!

Yes my daughter made them also my girl scout troop. My daughter is 44 and they are still in great shape. ♥️
Leave your graham crackers out uncovered for a couple days so they get a little moist, then they cut in triangles more easily.
Thanks for reminding me of the cut out ornaments. My daughter made them 44 years ago. Smelling good yet ♥️ Going to help the grandkids make some.
Very cute! I remember making these in Girl Scouts. One note: cloves are not good for dogs so keep them away from puppy 😉
Hi pretty lady. How are you doing today? And how is the weather over there with you??
