Here comes the comments of 'SnowTrax is on the Polaris payroll' again. Great video, Motorhead Mark.
😆
Put me 'On the Payroll' if I can rail this bad boy everyday.
LOL yup
Where there’s smoke……
It’s so refreshing to see awesome new tech and innovation enter the trail segment in the last couple of years, and the Matryx is the new gold standard in trail class performance.
Sounds like Polaris is going to hammer the competition with this sled. Nice review and certainly inspiring for those looking in the 600 class.
My 850 XCR 136 is sitting in the trailer waiting on snow... cant wait to put some miles on
My 2020 XCR w/ 300mi is doing the same. Cold af but no snow. Getting irritating.
Bob Loblaw's Law Blog!!
Would love to find out if only my snowchecked xcr would ever show up
Think june.
With a working engine?
No comments on that issue will be tolerated in these comments. That is not the company line.
WOW!!! That red and black looks amazing. Top notch presentation, filming and editing as well.
Thank you so much!!
I agree. I wish they would've maintained that color scheme.
I’m a ski doo guy with 2 600s in the stable but this is next level and I want one really bad
I love riding snowmobiles
All around beautiful sled
"There's nothing like the 7S gauge in the snowmo biz now." My NS1 gauge would like a word.
Great review, just staked the lake here and trails gonna be groomed tmr. Wife wants the 650 this looks like a nice ride for her.
I am excited to put some XCR owners down on the XRS Comp if Polaris ever gets them there sleds. All broke and dialed in, see you boys on the big whoops, wear some tear offs, you will need them!
Odd, I know someone still waiting on a XRS Comp. The only difference is Ski Doo doesn’t even communicate with him on when to expect the sled.
@@bedlambikes I hear you. Call BRP customer service and they know nothing at all. Tell you a line of BS to get you off the phone.
Cool sled. It's a shame these reviews feel more like infomercials than actual reviews.
👌
In this video.... On the trail cornering looks a little "nervous".... Looked like you were fighting inside ski lift. 3:40
I’m looking forward to getting my 2023 Indy xcr 850 with a 136 tack 1.35 log cobra track
Went to snowcheck a 650, my local dealer only had the 850 left, so I got that one coming instead
Nice.
Man Polaris done it again wipes out the competition
I’m gonna stick to my res as it’s more peppy and I’m used to the rock hard suspension but if I were gonna run a consumer sled I would absolutely take this in a heartbeat great video
Wow, what a review. Looking to snow check 2023. XRS vs XCR? 🧐
wish i had this guys job
Do all the xcr's come with PERC? Just snatched one up with low mileage and was unsure. Dont care if it doesnt but it if does that's good.
Nice job Mark the only thing I don’t like about this sled is the price tag. Have you rode an XCR 136 and if so how does it compare to the 128? Thanks and keep up the good work!
Ypu, we had the 136 with the 850 in it at the same time. I think Luke is covering that test ride and will make some comparisons. Stay tuned.
"those who snowchecked an XCR" . . . . . are still waiting for them.
Polaris's mid to later 2000's IQ600R race sleds we're and still are some pretty bad ass sleds & I've always been a Skidoo guy.
I read in snowtech that the later pro x were test mules for iqr.
Sled looks badass if you can get your hands on one
Amazing sled, as long as those Walker Evans shocks don't blow out, they really need to go to Fox Shocks because those Walker Evans are junk as far as handling abuse.
That’s what I was thinking
Just buy a Cat 😉
Or a Yamaha.
How about doing a riding between the Polaris XCR 650 and Skidoo 600 thanks for your content 😎🇨🇦👍👏
I like it!
I wish the factories would bring the 700 back. Many rental customers would like that.
This 650 makes more HP than 700s of past. No market for a 700, as what's the point to have a whole new motor, to make 5-6% more power than 650.
Here is my thoughts why would you want to set hand warmers at a set temp I find myself switching through my settings quite a bit depending on how hard I'm riding when my hand get cold I crank them up, there has never been one set temp that I stay on definitely not hating on polaris I rode them for years but I sure enjoy my Renegade XRS. I think you guys should do a head to head with multiple non bias riders XCR vs Renegade XRS.
The hand warmers STILL have low, medium and high settings, but you can customize each setting to the exact temperature that you want. For instance, you can have low at 95 degrees, medium at 120 degrees and set your high temp at 145 degrees. Whatever you like, and it’s electronically controlled to hold that exact temp at all times.
@@bedlambikes right I understand that I guess my greater point was does a touch screen really need to be on a snowmobile, won't be long and they will be 30,000 lol. Now I know other manufacturers will follow polaris and it does have the cool factor but I would wonder how that screen holds up over the next 5 years.
@@Jonny-wn1fl The touchscreen really has nothing to do with the hand warmers whatsoever, as that's a whole other piece of technology. (which is an option on this sled and not standard equipment.)
The same can be said for Ski Doo's new gauge with its joystick mounted controls on the left side of the dash. Or Ski Doo's Smartshocks.
How will those hold up after 5 years? Hopefully better than their tunnel mounted torsion spring adjusters and their ski mounted carbide adjusters which are both known to freeze resulting in broken dials.
As far as ALL of this stuff is concerned, thankfully both manufacturers offer models where you can avoid this technology if you are looking to save money or perhaps keep the sled more simplistic with less potential problems if you decide to keep your sled for many years. Personally, I even prefer to purchase my sleds without electric start as I am a big advocate of "less is more" when it comes to snowmobiles, weight savings and reliability. I'll take the nice gauge every time though!
Beautiful sled!
Having owned a 700 Firecat,is it possible that the 650 would be the better sled (reliability, resale value, lighter feeling because of less engine inertia) than the 850?
Hey Mark is R motion still a little better than the XCR rear suspension?
Mark's working on an editorial about this. Stay tuned to our website...
@@snowtrax We need a proper 3 way comparison XCR VS XRS VS Rave. How does the KYB powered PPS3 stack up against the XCR?
I would like to see GoPro footage of the riding in slowmotion to see the whoop section or the cornering understeer ou skilift.
Thank Snowtrax for your videos !
Thanks for the idea!
Check out LaValle's channel. He did just that. Matryx (VR1) had much less inside lift than the Axys. Axys is still better looking imo....
That is the Baddest of the Bad!!!
@ 0:49 he said it is new from ski tips to snowflap now it is the best, it was all new last year it was the best then too and all the years before.
So, what's the difference between the new xcr and the cross country? I thought xcr was the official xc race sled? So, is this just another trim package? Sorry, a fella has alot of questions.
Lots of differences, but almost none you can see. If you watch their 22 release video it will explain it but basically the cross country is actual race build with stronger internal drive components. The XCR is sort of the "almost a race sled" build
So if the rear skid responds to rider input like an Axys, is it an un-coupled suspension? Is it a progressive rate? Is the Skidoo better in the rear?
No, Yes, Yes
Ski doo has better rear suspension but more complex than the polaris but polaris sleds handle the best overall
So it’s a coupled rear, rising rate, not as good. Thank you.
Would sure be cool if I could get mine. Already missed 3 trips with the boys.
Ouch.
@@snowtrax Yep definitely not ideal. Note to self… never sell sled until new one arrives!
Im planning on checking one this spring, my pro-r will be staying in my garage until the new one arrives. My buddy is still waiting on his Tcat after selling his old sled...no good at all.
Update.... my buddy got pissed and bought a vr1. Told cat to stuff the tcat. I put a deposite the homeless tcat hopefully it ships soon!!
Where the heck are you guys riding because I sure know it’s not southern Ontario
Lynx took its spot
Lynx is a beast.
Is one of your test riders a Polaris dealership owner ?
He's not a test rider on the show, but rides for me in West Yellowstone while I take photos for SUPERTRAX magazine.
My jackshaft bearing blew around 2500km on my 2020 xc850.
Ugh, that sucks.
Seriously, Polaris needs to stop. I don't have enough money... 😭😄
Thanks for the awesome highlights though guys. 👍
Thank you!!
almost looks like you got it to bottom at 2:14 segment
Agree the RWB is one of the best looking xcr's
2:58 was a fully bottomed rough and jarring landing! Who knows where setup was at that point though.
Did look like that didn't it! That section was insane last year. Took both XCR's and the RAVE through there for testing. Great course for pushing suspension to its limits.
If doo doesn’t remodel in 2023 I’ll take mine all black with the 850 please.
Jesus the G4 just came out lol couple years old
@@codybrackett812 yeah it's junk though
Ide say a back country 1.75 be a good track for that sled!
had a 2020 xc850 so won t deny trail handling but was not impressed with having det warnings and jackshaft bearing blowing up under 2500km.
Yeah, that's not good. Polaris has some quality issues that need to be addressed.
@@snowtrax on a diff note i don t get ur byers guide anymore. i m still bying my trail pass in ontario. not sure.
There’s a reason they call early 2000s cats ditch pickles. Js😉
Still waiting for my Snow Check 22
How long is the track on this beast?
128
Do your ears work?
@@derriklee287 no, I was born without ears
I’m surprised you guys haven’t looked at the Cat RXC…
Just haven't been able to get many Cats to evaluate. That is all we've had this season.
Walker evans Door pumps lol
Be nice to see a head to head with the new Lynx 3500 RAVE RE.
See Luke's comparo of the XCR vs Rave
It’s better then the Lynx ? And most don’t even ride that hard they buy it because it’s says XCR cool guy factor and stay on your side of the trail people
We've got a Lynx vs XCR segment coming up in episode 3. Stay tuned...
Im sure Zach Herfindahl will have something to say about this sled lol
Sorry, but I still find it amusing that they almost always show the trail sled with no windshield. Anyone who's riden trails as below zero temps 7all day, regardless of jacket tech, knows how freaking cold that is. Call me soft, but that's just is Brrrrrr.
Agreed. Usually we get our sleds with these low windshields, but quickly swap out to the mid-height ones. In this case, these were very early 2022 models that we only had access to for about a week. Turnaround time was tight.
Yep I run mid shields all the time.
Yeah ..for like $16000. How in the fudge are people going to pay that much money for something that's worth half that next year?
Snowmobilers are buying these sleds. Remember, not every sled costs the same, same way not every car costs the same. Buy something with a smaller engine or something used or vintage. Work within your budget, just get out there and enjoy riding.
Where are 1 year old sleds worth half what they were the year before? I'd love to know so I can bring them back to my location and make a killing!
Sleds 1-3 years old are selling what they were new, or more right now. Typically pre COVID, you lost about 25-30% in first 2 seasons. To guys to ride alot, and buy new, they have no issue loosing that.
You can buy a base entry model sled for under 10k. This is a class leading performance sled. Are you upset that auto manufacturers make high end performance cars?
@@catkillerppx Where ??? Guys around here are selling 1 or 2 year old sleds for half cost.... The Lynx has everyone in their clutch...
Remember guys, the addition of stickers and spending almost $20 grand will never make you a real cross-country racer with those twin cylinders... (🤭waits for old timer to mention first XCR was a 440)
True but it will make me feel like one so its money well spent...
@@2strokeme64 ride on, all that matters!
2022....errrr...ahhhh...or are they gunna be 2023's?
I here a lot of people complaining about the handlebars being inside your chest or belly? More than one review has said this about the matryx platform....
Don't feel this way. Might be subjective.
Guess it depends on how big a person's belly is and how much they thump their chest
This whole rider centric seems like really new!!!! In 04
Well, skidoo fan boy… it was rider forward when it was introduced. Doo is still rider forward.
@@ChaseLandMgmt no i dont own a sled right now.. but mr patrick us talking like its a new concept. Supertrax/snowtrax are clearly polaris fanboys. Ive been reading and watching them since the 80s. When polaris had been sitting on its laurels for 10 years, 95 - 05ish, these guys still told you polaris was the best. Its like a car reviewer freaking out because a car has an adjustable steering wheel and seat.
@@dad2817 I can certainly agree Polaris had some large pitfalls during those years. Haven’t watched anything that dated back that far honestly. I think Polaris has caught up quickly to skidoo in many facets. I’m a Yamaha guy at heart but man, those new switchback assaults with a 7S display are hard to beat.
@@dad2817 pretty confident polaris pays people to hype up there sleds.....i can remember watching snocross over the last decade with tucker hibbert dominating the competition and all you heard from the announcers was how polaris was going to take him down. Never happened until snocross implemented the tucker hibbert rule!
@@KTMsoldier1988 you bet i remember that too !! Remember the "iq" chassis ? Didnt take much iq to build it 😁
Polaris people saying polaris is best. This is proof of it..
If it's such a good ditch banger why didn't you take it into any ditches during testing?
Where we ride there aren't a ton of open ditches for running, but the footage at around 00:50 going through that whooped out section is an excellent representation of its capabilities in the ditches.
@@snowtrax well it does certainly look like it handles the bumps better than my current ditchbanger.
Where's the ditch banging ????? Them Groomed trails are smooth as glass !!!!
We didn't shoot in ditches but that whoop section at around 00:50 is a solid representation of its abilities in huge, rutted out sections you'd find in the ditches.
What the heck is on the old guys chin ?? 😀
What did Polaris pay you guys for this commercial?
Here we go...
The 600 cat will run with the 650
That I have to see.
Get a sno pro 500 for less than quarter the cost.
Big difference.
Keep riding faster trees don’t move / sleds have been going over 100 mph since the late 90s nothing new here folks !!
Lesters are the CNN or CBC {whichever you choose} of the snowmobile business news.
😂
luke very similar to brian stelter
@@bennyb6071 I don't know Brian Stelter.
I don't think it's fair to race a 650 againstnst a 600cc
It’s in the 600 class so it is fair.
I think 90%of people are faster on trail with less horsepower, definitely easier to keep in the meat of the power band...
Totally agree unless you’re a lake runner I love my 600 perfect for the trails I would think the new 650 would be even better for me the 850 is unnecessary but I ride tight twisty trails
Slow down to Speed up
I have 2020 850 xc 137 and I definitely don't need to that hit in tighter trails! When messing with my buddies I have to think I hope this thing doesn't hook up right now! Give me a little slide😂😂
@@youareright5431 So are you saying the 137 pushes in the corners? I always stud my tracks and I’m worried the 137 might push in the corners. Do you wish you had the 129?
@@justinfranks2103 Sometimes, depends on where I'm riding,It handles fine I have the ice ripper and run 9 " shapers, The Patriot goes from like a 100 horsepower to 170 in a 2000 rpm power band, You have to get through the corner and point that sucker in a direction and hold on😂Ive never ridden the 129 so I don't want to give bad advice but I can tell you Bruce gaspardi SR from the Levi Lavelle videos, and Jesse James videos is getting a 650 128 xcr, And he owns a a Polaris dealership!don't know of that helps? sure it's awesome when its new...will it hold up 20-25 years from now like the old sleds do? Probably not when the screen quits. Nice polaris commercial guys.
Love the hate and love that you went back and edited your comment to make it bite just the right amount👌
Ditch banger? I seen noting but trail riding. Fact is. Today's snowmobiles can't handle the ditch. They are over priced money pits if you try to ditch bang them.. I rode my 90 indy 500 for season after season in the harshest ditch's with only wear problems never broke a thing.. a new xc 650 cost a 200 a-arm after two rides in the ditch, Hit a decorative rock.. my 15' r xc, 3 a- arms and a front shock in one season.. They makem so you can breakum and pay pay pay them for parts...
I'm sorry but I can't accept any snowtrax recommendations as they are nothing more then paid fan boys of Polaris

@@snowtrax and next year when you find something better from another manufacturer,Polaris fans will be accusing you of being on another payroll!
I'll stick with my pro x...
Same here
Same here turned my pro s 800 into a X last summer just waiting on deeper snow to fully enjoy ditch banging
I run an 02 XCSP that has been in the family since new, it gets refreshed shocks around 2500-3000 miles, rebuilt the engine at 14,000miles (out of fear lmao) when my father moved south and that thing is a rocket even by today's standards and seems to go everywhere the new sleds do. Only "customized" peices are a riser, shocks, and track and at the end of the day I am no more beat up than when I ride the 2017 Skidoo or my brothers 2011 Polaris Rush w/ the spongy pro-ride setup.
Keep the old girls alive boys, they don't make'em like they used to...easy access to almost everything under the hood, no tools to change a belt, and on those long cold nights these new beasts don't quite offer the same wind protection.
Only for youtubers
These "reviews" are just infomercials at this point.
K, bud.
@@snowtrax there's no constructive criticism, just listing off features. New sleds are amazing, but not perfect. It's like you guys are afraid to highlight anything you don't like about the sleds for fear the manufacturers will blackball you. I understand why, but it just shows in the videos.
