this video is exactly what I'm looking for! I'd been trying to find khmer learning videos but have no clues how and where to find! you explain everything so clearly, thank you so much for continuing uploading!
I enjoy learning Khmer, I have been to Cambodia on a missions trip and plan on returning. I work with a missionary from Cambodia, his name is Paul Nuth. I would like to learn enough by Jan 2017 to pray in Khmer during a church service.
Hello, I was talking with my friend from Cambodia and not all people on youtube are really teaching Khmer, he did like your teaching, so I decided that I will learn Khmer while living in Cambodia. I plan on staying for 2 to 5 years and teaching English for income so that I am not a burden on anyone while doing missionary work.
wow I have been asleep for a long time. The videos are working. I can see again. Thank you. I'm really impressed I had no idea I was that far away from him. I have some work to do. Thank you again
thank you so much. I have been learning how to read and write Khmer to become an interpreter. I am already fluent in it, but I am American born, so I don't know how to read or write. I didn't pay attention in Khmer class at the temple when I was young ^^
In Thaidifferent consonants take different Tones with different vowels. It seems in Khmer, combining different Khmer Consonants with different Vowels, the Khmer vowels CHANGE.
I have been in Cambodia for a month now but I have yet to really acquire Khmer language. Can you help in making a video on the top 100 basic and commonly used everyday words in Khmer? I think it would really help. It's easy to find the words in dictionaries but I am never sure how to pronounce it. that's the trouble. and it would also be great to have these words being used in sentence examples
I thought I was the only one. lol I'm learning Khmer too. I also have a love from Cambodia who lives here. Your videos are really good and easy to learn from. I'm more amazed that you are still doing videos. I have a question for you. How did you learn English so well? You sound as if you where born here. Also why not write a web page as a tool to help more. Might as well make money at what you are doing for free. At least have open donations to put back into your mission.
Hello ! I'm a french cambodian girl who teaches khmer in youtube and i wanted to ask you why ស្រះិះ in the vowels ? Because i am learning khmer, i know consonants, vowels... but in khmer books, i have never seen this vowel According to my mom, this vowel is used for few words like " think" in cambodian
Hi. I really appreciate that you explain when to use each vowel. I would like to hear all the vowel variations, but I think you skipped more than half of the vowels, or did I miss something?
Hello Cv:) Please - what is the last sign in the word "two" ? I can see a "powh" sign and a little vowel on the top but there is something else after which looks like another consonant... and thank you for your videos! :) I am moving to Cambodia and looking forward to learn Khmer.
Yes, you are right. There is a consonant after "Powh" and that's consonant is called "rowh" it's an equivalent to "R" in English. In the word "Pbi"(Two) the "rowh"(R) is silent.
Just to add to CV's answer, in modern Khmer the "R" consonant "rowh" រ is virtually always silent when in the final position of a syllable and a word. That's why in words like "Pbi", the consonant រ is not pronounced.
I'm falling in love with a girl from Cambodia and honestly Khmer looks really really hard to learn. I need a person who can help me please.! I need to translate some phrases. I'm using Google Translate but it does not work very well. I need help!!! Please!
This is so helpful. I can finally understand why some vows have different sounds. Thank you for making this video.
Thank you, CV. You are a talented teacher of Khmer! Please keep making your wonderful instructional videos! Thank you!

You're right! we have this ិះ in writting in some of the spelling word to make it sound right but not in the vowel that teach in class.

Hi, those are all the Khmer vowels. I don't believe I skipped any.
I want to thank you very much but I did not understand anything in Hindi.
You still teach Khmer?
Do you have this color chart somewhere online that I can download and reference? It's a great chart and can't find anything like it online.

Go to Kim Lay channel search Learn Khmer/English Part 1 good luck.
Khmer in Google Translate is still being developed and is still not fully accurate.
