Before starting the oil change, I disconnect the fuel pump then run the engine until it stops. After the oil change (with the fuel pump still disconnected), I crank over the engine (it obviously won't start) until I get oil pressure showing on the dash. Then I re-connect the fuel pump and start the engine. This method prevents the engine running without oil pressure for those first ~5 seconds while the filter is dry.
