I SO appreciate you for doing these lessons, Carol. It augments the lesson I do everyday for the past 40 years and I love hearing it in your voice. I also read a few paragraphs of the text each day. I change the words 'you' to 'me' or 'mine' and 'he' to 'she' to make it more personal to me. Don't have any problem (anymore) with the masculine language because it doesn't mean anything. What I do is like pulling a bunch of beautiful, fragrant flowers to my nostrils to inhale an intoxicatingly delightful fragrance. I AM a Child of God.

Watching this video post meltdown pyschologist appt. Sit with your feelings she says, I have ADHD ASD level 2 impulscivity and anxiety are not something i can controll and the overcompensation mechanisums due to PTSD 25yrs of therapy havent done shit. This lesson is helping me more than medication xxxx i am determined to see differently and something else is there for me to see. I am not upset with my feelings of anger feustration negativity snd crappiness about myself is not for the reason i expect and my thoughts are meaningless... i am determined to see what i want is mine. Need peace. I am determined to see peace calm and joy. I want to see what else is going on besides my egoic mind of adhd and autisum. I beg to change my state to a better one.

0:04 Lesson 20: I am determined to see
0:40 Reverse everything you think and believe
1:40 We want you to be happy, peaceful, and have a sense of being beloved
2:17 You make artificial distinctions (when you call something pain, pleasure, joy, sorrow)
2:55 Always what you want is yours
3:00 Vision is what you get when the blocks are away
3:37 Be determined to be happy, peaceful, and beloved
3:40 Remind yourself that you want to see what's beyond your egoic perspective
4:05 I want to change my current state to a better one
4:58 I'm determined to see and get past my ego blocks
5:10 What you actually want you always get. What you desire you will see

+1. It feels like I'm right in the room with her. And you can feel that her understanding goes deep. If there's something I don't understand, it helps that I trust her--helps me to see it in a different light!!!

This is my 3rd attempt at ACIM in a year.
The biggest factor I have found, from listening to Carol, and which is helping me tackle and stick with it, this time round, is to not think about understanding it, rather to let the words and lessons wash over me and just keep going.
Everything will absorb and permeate just as its meant to.

You got it. That's exactly right. Don't think you're doing it wrong or that it's not helping if you don't understand it mentally.

This is my 3rd try. The first time I understood nothing. I just had to keep trying. I made it up to lesson 134 and stopped. I just started over. I found Carol. I'm going along really well now

You all do understand that reading the text, chapters 1 thru 31 is a big part of ACIM right?
Just doing the lessons won't get you very deep

    • @booksnuggler2494
      @booksnuggler2494 Рік тому +2

@@peacelovejoy8786 Respectfully disagree. Not going to lie, I found the first chapters of the book frustrating to read; it takes a long time and while not hard to read, there is a lot of repetition without grounding or application; there are only so many free hours in my day, and I turned to the course to start finding peace NOW, not after reading a MASSIVE book. I am 55 and this is something I do for healing when I can get away from home and work duties. I imagine the book will mean more to me after the lessons, but at the moment the lessons, even the teacher's manual, are more compelling.
I will add that I am not a lazy reader but a student and teacher of English who also writes novels. But the main text itself, on its own, was no more interesting than reading the OT, as I was forced to do in school, and in the OT I found a violent, unloving text bereft of hope an full of "fear of God" madness. (I didn't find that in the ACIM text, but did find my eyes swimming and my mind not really absorbing it at all.) Only the NT was inspiring, only Jesus made the Bible worthwhile for me, even back when I was RC, a cult to which I will never return due to its over-emphasis on what awful sinners we supposedly are.. But I still believed in God (which I now prefer to call Source as religions tend to present Him as a grumpy, jealous, tantrum-y, childish version of Santa Claus), needed spirituality, and not from sources mainly selling pastiches of real spirituality as ways to get rich and make them rich. ACIM was obviously the key, but the book itself wasn't grabbing me; I needed action, not just the words. The SM and TM reflect the knowledge that there are many learning styles and however one wishes to study, if itheir method keeps them with the course, it works for them and is not for another to judge.
An online teacher said you can just start ACIM with the student manual and 30 lessons in, it has already helped my mental wellness in many ways. I am excited every day for the next lesson after re-reading all the ones before. TRUTH: If I hadn't done it this way, I would have chucked ACIM into the slush pile after page 1 as another vague, meaningless text. Without applying it to one's real life, it won't be anything more than that for many who have read, even suffered through. other long spiritual texts that have not resulted in enlightenment.
When applied to real life, though, ACIM is incredible and peace-bringing. A man got fed yesterday and a wandering, lost child I wouldn't normally have noticed got returned to his mom because I was in the moment and focused on love of others. I felt not only good, but like a channel for Source. I will read the book eventually, but right now I am IN LOVE with the lessons and feel this is the course for me. I did not get that from starting the text alone and was disappointed in the first few chapters of it (a close friend having recommended it) until I saw the lessons; again, the text alone would never have gotten read EVER if I hadn't started with the lessons. Now I know I will read it and be nourished by it; but for now, the lessons are enough, and are much more exciting to me because there is something one can actively DO to reprogram fear out of their minds.

This is my 2nd time through the lessons and I can tell you straight up, my EGO hates these! EGO wants conflict and disarray. If I stay alert to this tricky trickster it helps when I begin to struggle with the lessons. EGO wants nothing to do with ACIM! I'm on to his ways ...lol ♡♡

Hi Carol love your explanations. I did Acim in 2019 and loved it. Question. Is it ok to do over again? I decided to do again now in 2021 because ii don't think I did it quite right. Is that the ego kicking in?
I'm getting more out of it now and enjoying it. May I have your thoughts.
    in love and light Kathryn

    advise please:
I did these lessons once before and wasn't sure if I should set a timer for the ones that ask that we do the exercise at certain times. I decided not to use any alarms but to just try and see if I had the willpower and determination to remember on my own. Most of the time I did not. What is your advice about this?
