- So yeah, I bought a new boat, and yes I'm still keeping the Outlaw...
For the last 18 months I've been saving hard for a Haines V19R and I finally feel like I found the right boat!
In this episode we head out off Mackay for a test run to see what she's capable of, and I couldn't be happier with the ride!! We stopped for a fish along the way and pulled in a few tasty treats and a few absolute beasts!

How do you find the stability on the new boat out on the reefs?
She was awesome out there, didn’t roll too much at all for the deep V but I did sell it on the weekend just gone to make way for a bigger boat to get out further for longer
nice boat, Not sure why but all the fishing videos I watch from aus, the fisherman don't use a deepwater release device?
I pulled up a GT of compatible size Darwin harbour, the charter captan cut it off and said no way bringing that menace aboard, too dangerous he said. Come to think about it my back still remembers it as bigger than yours 😅
Hahaha yeah they’re a pest when you’re not targeting them! But they do behave when their in the boat…
They’re a great old hull
I really miss this boat sometimes, but then I remember what I replaced it with ❤️

Nobody ever regrets buying a classic hull that's in good shape - famous for a reason. I presume much of the interior was retrofitted over time - e.g. those ali seat boxes? It'll be awesome to get to know the boat, then make the changes you want. And the big banga already shows this boat's got the juju with it...well done, mate. And weird question, but how tall are you?

yo i like the video, but for the cod u coul'd have keep it, instead of letting it for the shark 👎👎👎
I was reversing back to pick it up when the shark took it, turns out the shark was his friend and took him back down cos he could see his mate had barotrauma and wanted to help 😅👌🏻
Awesome boat and setup, Mick. That is a neat, tidy and nearly perfect setup. Just the best base platform only a few changes and you have it exactly the way you want it. Congrats, mate! When you do the floor, you could do a pod extension with dive platform and a straight transom…sorry just dreaming, what an awesome find and buy! congrats ;)

Nice boat mate 👍that hull is a classic! Beautiful design right from the first one. I’ve had a Suzi on my tinny similar size to yours for over 10 years, just impossible to fault. Only damage I’ve done is sucking heaps of sand in trying to get back across the hinchinbrook channel at low tide. Super motor
That boat is in excellent condition and looks well looked after obviously the previous owner put some love into it.. oh not a cod😂

I watched it for a few weeks, then my shares went good and it suddenly became “in my price range”, I cashed out and then they dropped… Seems it was meant to be 👌🏻

Chuck a big motorguide on the front, you can network it to the simrad on the nmea network 👍

I got one onboard but didn’t use it this trip as our drifts were very short due to the structure we were fishing

Haha they were all good, I’ve trained my muscles up with all the cod… The hammerhead just wanted to help the cod with his barotrauma, god bless him 😅 haha thanks man!!
