I switched from Ford after nearly 40 years of ownership since they gave up (cowards) building affordable products and cars. I own a 2016 Hyundai that has given me 77k trouble free miles and I don't regret the purchase. Best car I've ever owned and so roomy, quiet, and fuel efficient.
Korean vehicles are definitely better than domestic's.

Exactly. Not sure if there is a standard for the different size classes of vehicles.
It's also crazy how expensive the cheapest offerings are getting.
not mad at it... i like it. I do think it takes styling queues from the Polestar/Volvo cars
The only thing I do not like about K4 and K5 that they should have made the boot opening like hatch back, if Skoda Octavia and Superb can do than why not Kia. Com'on guys that's the more practical and your rear looks more like a fastback!

I wish this was a hatchback. They’d save money by having one design and capture market share by offering the most space in the class.

I just bought a 2024 GT-Line 2 months ago (Feburary 2024). And it's an awesome car. Especially coming from a Ford Fusion. So I have the last model year for the "Forte". The 2025 K4 is a big design change and it looks really cool. I'll definitely will want to check the new K4 GT-Line when it comes out.
Kinda glad I went t ahead and got a forte gt then. 190hp is a bit disappointing
When it comes to the dealer lots how much higher will the wheel well be above the tires? Seems as though they always lower the cars for the auto shows.
I like it! Only thing it needs are twin tip pipes.
The front lights are better than the K5 for my taste.
Better than the 2025 model for sure. I think the 2021-2024 headlights on the K5 are more iconic and streamlined. The new ones just look messier. I'm massively excited for the K4 since it ticks every box I need for a new car.
Looks like there is no headroom for the passengers in the back. It looks nice, but has too much drawbacks for customers in the west (eu, usa).

for being a compact sedan it looks as big as the k5? i have a 2023 forte and it seems smaller than this for sure. the back of it is pretty blah and i don’t love the back seat door handle designs

Hyundai Kia should stop placing headlight/taillight so far down in the corner of bumpers!
These are terrible positions to place parts that can cost several hundreds. Even a light bumper scrap can result in stupid high repair bill.
Hatchback with a manual would be the ticket for me. But that transmission is obsolete unfortunately
They can't even keep cars on lots now! Our local kia lot is always empty

@@davidjymno, no it’s not. I sale the damn cars, we had sold 350 of the damn things one month and on average we sale 290. Our lot stays empty.

@@HD_KerinoThe lots stay empty because of low volume production whether that’s because of supply chain issues with parts suppliers or production capacity or a conscious choice to limit production, the end result is the same.
It’s not as if any Kia model is a top seller in volume compared the the highest volume vehicles in their classes.
Telluride has been popular and in short supply from the first year they released it, yet they don’t significantly increase production. Sounds like a choice.
Most other Kia models are not that popular.
There was also a scandal in Canada last year about Kia purposely holding back vehicles from being delivered to dealers.
Kia K4 is beautiful! K4 blows the corolla and civic out of the water. There is no comparison and anyone would be making a mistake not going for the K4. Kia made history with this car. They saved the compact sedan. Compacts are the best bang for you buck. The standard is now set for compacts and all cars. Well done Kia!

GDI engine in k4 will die before the honda or corolla go in for their last free service

K designation is what they've used in Korea for years. Now they are normalizing this across the world.

Mention the trunk compare to the forte is 0.7 less from 15.3 to 14.6 cargo space, because Kia increases the rear leg up to 38 inches.
The rear looks ungainly. Front and rear look complex. Prefer the current K3 with a clean design.
I like it, hope they make a high performance version.

I think the car is stunning and impressive, nothing like the old Forte..its a completely new car, all around.
KIA really needs to "Double Down" on making their powertrains more reliable...

@miaminights86 I did. Brand new exact. Exhaust was hanging down after 5k miles. The front end was rattling when idling. As for the engine? Mazda skyactive Is more reliable

we've entered an era where an economy car has the same interior as a luxury car. since everyone is just doing the dual screens for gauges and infotainment.

Please never add it back. Viewers hate that effect because, even though more is visible at once, that level of distortion makes it very difficult to appreciate how objects truly look like.
I really do not like concealed rear door handles. It is such a long car with an obvious rear shut line for the rear door! With such a 'chunky' front door handle it looks so obvious that something is missing!!! It does not look symmetrical or cohesive IMO.

I like some elements of it, but together as a whole, its just meh for a design (especially exterior). It feels like they're trying to use parts from the Hyundai side, but also want to be different and I don't think its working, lol.
They went from taking inspiration from Cadillac wjth the telluride, to straight up stealing their design language with this front end.

Yeah. That's kia for you. Even the 2021 kia forte I had I noticed the daytime running lights was taken from Porsche.
i see a very unique design language here. copy is just a lazy assessment. really. it ain't 2004. it's 2024. if you know design, hyundai/kia/genesis have been the global design leader. you would know, if you know the design. and it's the other way around. other brands have been copying koreans. update yourself.
@joec.5009 Apparently you don't know what you're talking about. Cadillac has been using their vertical headlight design since the cts in 2002/2003, long before Hyundai/Kia.
Their chief designer came from BMW so their interiors are heavily inspired by them(not unique) the exterior design of kia is heavily inspired by Cadillac. The most unique design they have at the moment is the headlights fading into the grille.
So its a hyundai elantra underneath
i didn't like the old forte because it looked like a 2017 civic but without the tried and true reliability factor of one. This new look actually might convince be to give Kia a chance with their new engines and look past that whole law suit fiasco.
current Forte GT looks way more original with the red grill/splitter and headlight design... K4 looks like every other generic EV being made today, no thanks...
Please let it be available with a manual transmission option!

Looks pretty great. Wish it was electric too, I would love something small, efficient, and cheap to drive with lots of real buttons, a real shifter, and IMO good looks too.

I'm sorry but this car is so ugly. Not that the Forte was anything to look at either.
Also I'm all for the infotainment screen, but when you make it one large screen, if it breaks, there go any controls and visibility. At least separate them.

@@edaddyx2hansonjr436 so I own a 2023 forte GT that costs $26,000 and you think i should relax and pay $32,000 for a K5 GT get real now the K5 GT line doesn’t have a turbo motor, which buy the way I owned a 2021 K5 now you get the 2.5 SUV motor that my wife has in her 2023 Hyundai Tucson and believe me it’s got no torque so take it easy that’s not happening when the car maker that I loved is making the Biggest mistake by going electrified, it’s going to be a complete failure.
@@edaddyx2hansonjr436 actually I own a K5 and a 2023 Kia forte GT now let’s go down this rabbit hole if you are going to just add a 190 hp turbo to a k4 with out DCT, with out sport suspension, without bigger brakes , no dual exhaust outlets, at probably over $30,000 you are witnessing the death of a great car, so no, I’m not gonna take it easy and watch Kia rip off its customers.

Still cant get over the KIA's obsession with weird shaped headlights and taillights. I still prefer conventional shape face.

This is repulsive. The Forte GT was better in every way. I'm not entirely sure why this is said to be a Forte replacement anyways; the Forte was the K3 overseas. This abomination is larger.
Because they downgraded the K3 to the Rio now in other countries.

I had an Optima prior to K5GT Line.....love the cars , warranty, and service network. Plan to trade my sons Elantra for the K4.....Hyundai service sucks.
