Things sound reasonably positive for baseball in the Bahamas. I didn't catch any mention however of any of the handful of players who made it to the bigs or even minors, coming back to the Bahamas after their careers were over to promote the sport or assist with player development. I would think this would go a long way in furthering the growth and increasing the popularity of baseball.
By 1920, it is apparent based on several pieces published by the tourism development board, that Cricket and Football(Soccer) was in decline, while Baseball and Rugby were clearly more prominent. Local players had already attained a preference for Baseball for competition over Cricket. Since that time, it has continued to grow to this present day. Baseball has a 145 year history in The Bahamas.
Either before or by 1894. There were games played between teams formed from Grants Town. Which is a Black community. The teams that played in 1894, were Victoria vs Wild Eagles. This is probably the first local vs local game of Baseball in The Bahamas.

The first baseball game was played in the 1800s in The Bahamas. If memory serves me right it was in the 1870s.
