I have a large jar for pennies and another for the rest. #smallyoutubearmy
That's a great idea too!
Nice to see someelse that does the same thing. Yes it does confuse cashiers if you don't give thrm the pennies upfront.
The penny method she just said was the smartest method ever for get coins.
I put my pennies, nickels, and dimes in a small jar, but I keep my quarters separate as I use them. I live in NYC and quarters are always handy for making small purchases (chips, water, gum, or cup of coffee from the corner store), public transit (subway, bus), and laundromat.
I usually save my pennies, nickels, and dimes for a calendar year (Jan-Dec) and last year's count was a little over $25.00
Those are all great uses for quarters so I can see how it's beneficial for you to keep them separate. Good job on saving the rest!
Good Point! I used to use a coffee cup on my shelf. I always try to avoid coinstar 10% for a machine to count it is a rip off!
Definitely try to avoid using Coinstar so you don't pay the fee! See if any of your bank branches have a machine that will count it for you, for free. :) Thanks for watching!
Many of those machines have a gift card redemption option that doesnt take any % of your money. Our local machines at Wal-Mart and Kroger have collectively at least 20-30 different gift card options (food, travel, entertainment, goods, etc categories). Love that idea.
Not alot of folks use or know about it though its listed on the screen. (Gift card, donate, or cash are the first three options and u go from there).
That's great to know, thanks for sharing this information! The last time I used one of these machines I didn't see this. That's useful if you are going to do some shopping at one of these stores. :)
I love this idea!!!
I always check the ground for coins when I am out. One day I managed to scrounge up 35 cents on the floor in a Walgreens. My payment came to 24.31 and the clerk was so glad I payed in exact change. Didn’t want to tell her I found it in the store. LOL
SCORE! I love when that happens! We all need exact change these days.
I have an old plastic UTZ Pretzel container. It looks like a big fish bowl. 56oz. I save my change all year and cash it in once a year. It usually gets 1/2 full and even then it's pretty heavy. I always get around $400 when I cash it in. I really should just wait until I fill up the whole container. I also save every $1.00 bill I get back in change and see how much I save at the end of the year. Last year I saved $1,200 in $1.00 bills.
I put all of my Nickels, dimes, and Quarters in a Ziploc bag and then i have a seperate bag for the pennies. Then each week when I have the house to myself i'll count the coins and then wrap them up.
Thanks good video
Great Video
Oh My Goodness! I dislike when my husband does that🤣🤣🤣I understand the concept now. Thanks for sharing
Ha ha, that's great! I'm glad you understand now. 😀
I am a saver as well as a coin collector, so I save kind of like you do, but I also sort through the coins and have an eye for certain more valuable ones. It's a fun hobby/investment but definitely more time consuming. Anyway, I loved the video and I think you are very photogenic!
That's great to have that knowledge! The only thing I know is when there is a real silver coin in the batch. I keep those, but it doesn't happen as much as it used to.
Thanks for the kind words. ;)
TGS of course! You're clever, charming, AND good with money? I guess I'll have to keep coming back for more... 🙄😉
Lots of fun!
I try to do this with the cashiers... it easily confuses them and they always just key in the paper amount and give back my supplied change. Kids....lol
It does confuse them! :)
Oh my gosh! your hands are more beautiful than ever! thanks for the video.
Thank you 😊
Thanks
Why
Love this idea 😍
Thank you! Give it a try!
Im doing the same with euros saved €82.07 in 3 weeks (we dont use pennies in my country but i found some in my drawer thats why)
Canada got rid of pennies I save my small change nickles, dimes and quarters and keep my loonies and toonies in my wallet
That's great, keep at it! I've heard of loonies and toonies. :) Love it!
I bet I'll get rich from those Canadian pennies. I have about 15 of them that are from the 1980's. I bet it will be worth more in the future.
Good idea
Best way to save I do it and cash in once a year or so..last year my change brought me a brand new deep freezer. I was raised to save my change.what people don’t remember is we were taught this as children because most kids had a piggy bank..It’s no different now because as adults we should all have one..I have done it for 32 years.. And you will not miss the coins
Hi Donna, that's wonderful that your loose change was enough to buy a new deep freezer with just one year of saving! Bravo!
I couldn't agree more, we won't miss the coins and it's a great way to save a little.
Thanks for sharing your story!
We use the giant baby bottle bank from my baby shower with my youngest son
Great tip$
Thank$!
Ok
I like to lick up change as well.
I'd rather just mix the pennies. I don't need something else to think about while checking out. It all ends up the same dollar wise.
My suggestion is to also take the time to count your Change yourself because those change counting machines take a percentage as well so you’re loosing right there.
I agree, Coinstar is the one I know of that charges a fee, I think 8%. When I take coins to my bank, they don't charge me anything.
Hey there! Just came over from Joanne Plans and thought I'd show some support! #SmallUA-camrArmy woohoo!!!! Have a wonderful weekend :)
How sweet, thank you! I now know what fatwood is! Fun channel :)
Hi! New subbie from Joanne's arm. I try to save change, but my husband always ask for it for vending machines. 😠
Hi!
Oh no, the money pit! You need to be creative in hiding it. ;) Subbed back!
My wife be on that same shit so I hide my jar now and oleny fill it when she's sleep🤣🤣🤣
I’m put my change in a shoe box
Perfect! Do whatever works for you!
This is a great way to get rid of your pennies! This also helps you to be more intentional with you saving and spendings. Yeah pennies trick you into thinking you have more money in the jar than you really do!
Hey Deedra!! Yes, those pennies are little tricksters! Thanks for stopping by! :)
This woman’s cute and smart :)
Keep the pennies. The one minted 1981 prior are made of copper. They are worth double the face value.
I've heard that before, but what do you do with them?
The people that save them are hoping the laws change so the can be sold or melted for scrap value.
Boyd's Coins Damn dude they worth 2 cents? I’m retired.

Saving change is pointless I know people who let change sit in jars for a decade. I just cashed in $100 worth of change and now it's in a account with 2.45 interest
I don't feel that it's pointless, and if you don't want that $100 of change you saved, you can send it my way! :)
I agree that it shouldn't sit for decades, but saving for a while then cashing it in is better than never saving it to begin with.
Pennies are such a nuisance. They make it seem like u could actually have a good amount of money but u really only got like 4 dollars.
Exactly how I feel, but I never turn them away! :)
yawn
🤣🤣🤣
