It amazes me, that while most dispensational preachers understand that the events foretold to occur in MT 23 and 24 center around, and come to completion, at the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem in 70ad; then have the misguided fortitude to suddenly jump 2000 years into the future when Jesus includes his coming and the gathering right there within the very same texts! And it expressed as being IMMEDIATELY after the events in the previous verses!
One problem with your position on the first question David.....You have to consider that the Disciples were asking Jesus a question. Jesus was answering them. They UNDERSTOOD his answer. There is absolutely no way they would have understood that answer as a future generation. "Even so, when YOU see all these things, YOU know that it is near, right at the door. Truly I tell YOU, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened." How else would they take it? If you were there, how would you take that? Be honest.
Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of [g]Christ depart from iniquity.” 2 Tim 2:19
Thank you for this question and answer session! I really appreciate the part discussing John the Baptist writing a letter to Jesus when John had some doubts. That let me know even the chosen people of the Bible were not perfect, and neither are we. It spoken to me personally. We can only be servants of His Righteousness. Bless you!
WW2 generation has "not passed away" until every last member is gone God said: 'My spirit shall not abide in man for ever, for he is flesh; his days shall be a hundred and twenty years." Gen. 6:3. The fig tree bloomed again in 1948 and120 years later that generation's time will be up. We must wear the full armor of God and fight against the spirits of evil in the heavenly realms.
The “last days” mentioned was the last days of the Old covenant age which would come to an end at the destruction of the Temple. The Herodian temple aka second temple was a physical representation on earth of the Mosaic Law. That age they lived in was coming to an end in “This Generation” and as history shows that age they were living in did end. Tacitus & Josephus recorded a Multitude of angelic beings riding chariots of Fire surrounding the cities of Judea before the temple was destroyed. Many other supernatural events were noted as well during this time. This was the second coming of Jesus Christ, coming in judgment of the Harlot city for the bloodshed of all the prophets and saints throughout the Mosaic age of the Law. So he was right when he said “Immediately after the tribulation of THOSE days, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give her light the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the land will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:29-30 That coming in the clouds is exactly what Josephus and Tacitus record just as Jesus said.
@@WilliamEllison Most of the prophecies by people of Matthew 24 , Mark 13 , and Luke 21 are not correct ; we do not read these chapters in their proper context . Matthew 24 , Mark 13 , and Luke 21 gives an account of the same conversation between Jesus and his disciples at the Mount of Olives . The disciples asked three questions based on the statement by Christ in Matthew 24:2 , Mark 13:2 , and Luke 21:6 ; about the temple been destroyed . The first question was : 1. When shall these things be ( the destruction of the temple ) , 2. What shall be the sign of thy coming ( his return to the earth to restore Israel and setup his kingdom for 1000 years ) , and 3. the end of the world ( the white throne judgment , which can be explained in Matthew 13:37-40 , " He answered and said unto them , He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man ; The field is the world ; the good seed are the children of the kingdom ; but the tares are the children of the wicked one ; The enemy that sowed them is the devil ; the harvest is the end of the world ; and the reapers are the angels . As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire ; so shall it be in the end of this world " ) . Jesus answered all three questions put to him by the disciples : The first question about wars and famines and pestilences and earthquakes and nations against nations and afflictions and being hated of all nations and many false prophets , were happening in the disciple time , as well as in our time ; most of this was addressed to the disciples of what would happen before the fall of Jerusalem in 70.A.D. ( Acts 5:34-42 ; Acts 11:27-30 ; Acts 16:23-32 ; and many events written in history ) . The end of the temple came when the gospel had been preached in all the world for a witness ; Which the apostle Paul stated in Romans 1:5,8 ; Romans 10:17-18 ; Colossians 1:5-6,23 . In Matthew 24:15-20 , Jesus warned them to flee Judaea when you see the abomination stand in the holy place , as spoken of by Daniel the prophet : Which can be found in Daniel 9:26 . The Roman armies first surrounded Judaea in approximately 67 A.D. , but withdrew because of troubles in Rome ( Nero ) , but returned in 70 A.D. to destroy the temple , city and made the covenant people desolate . All the people who listen to Christ warning left Judaea after the armies withdrew . In Matthew 24:21 , the great tribulation begin for Israel , the only nation under the covenant of the God of Israel ( Romans 2:11-15 ) ; which means that all ( Israelites and the Gentiles ) must keep his laws to be justified . The Gentiles are grafted into the covenant with the believing Israelites ( Romans 11:11-22 ) . The tribulation of Israel will continue until Matthew 24:29 ; the second coming of Christ to setup his kingdom , and to restore Israel ( Acts 1:6-11 ) . Jesus Christ answered the second question , of the sign of his coming in Matthew 24:29-31 , Mark 13:24-27 , and Luke 21:25-28 . Christ answered the third question of the end of the world in Matthew 24:32-51 , Mark 13:28-37 , and Luke 21:29-36 . The Son of man will judge the world at the white throne judgment , not the Father . The answer to the question of : " Verily I say unto you , This generation shall not pass , till all these things be fulfilled " . Jesus was talking about the generation of the sons of man , becoming the Sons of God . No flesh and blood can inherit the kingdom of the Father ( 1 Corinthians 15:50 ) ; which will come after the white throne judgment . In the statement that Christ makes about : Matthew 24:36 , " But of that day and hour knoweth no man , no , not the angels of heaven , but the Father only " ; Jesus was not talking about his return , but the answer can be found in verse 35 of Matthew 24 ( Matthew 24:35 , " Heaven and earth shall pass away , but my words shall not pass away " ) ; He was talking about the third question ; the end of the world . This earth will be burn at the white throne judgment , and a new earth created for the Father's kingdom on earth ( 2 Peter 3:12-13 ; Revelation 21:1-5 ) . Hope this help ? Shalom !
messenger Israel your right, Yahweh did promise the Jews a restored davidic kingdom of Israel. The Messiah was to rule that restored kingdom. That kingdom was to be established when the stone the builders rejected would crush the image of the four beast correct? The final part of that image was Rome and thats precisely when Jesus showed up during the Roman occupancy of Judea in the days of Augustus. In Joel God said that once the four beasts (Babylon, Persia, Greece, Roman) had subjugated the land and people that god would restore the years that the locusts have eaten. In other words he would restore sovereignty to Israel under a davidic descendant who would drive out the enemy and set up Gods kingdom on earth. Basically if Jesus was that ruler then it was him who should have defeated Rome and set up the kingdom and establish world peace in the first century when everything was being fulfilled, that’s not what happened. The parables of the wicked tenants and the other about the wedding banquet tell what did happen. The Jews rejected their own king who was to rule over them and so God poured out his wrath on Israel instead of restoring them. 41As Jesus approached Jerusalem and saw the city, He wept over it 42and said, “If only you had known on this day what would bring you peace! But now it is hidden from your eyes. 43For the days will come upon you when your enemies will barricade you and surround you and hem you in on every side. 44They will level you to the ground-you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God. If the Jews didn’t kill Jesus and received him as messiah then God would have restored the kingdom to Israel and it would have gave them peace. However since they killed the one who would be their salvation from foreign rulers they were judged and the kingdom would be taken away from them said Jesus. That kingdom on earth you spoke of was to be established in the first century, the Temple was not going to be destroyed and Jerusalem was going to receive divine intervention from Yahweh as the fourth beast laid siege to the city. That’s not what happened though. The glory of God sat on the mount of Olives during the siege and it called out to Jerusalem asking her to repent of her wickedness, asking her to return to him so that he can return to them but they would not so he returned to his place. The Jews will not get the kingdom because they did not recognize the time of their salvation and they did not work righteousness in the land but rather deception and falsehood and bloodshed even to kill their own king who was the final straw that caused Gods wrath to fall instead of his protection.
@@josemascarenas682 The word of the God of Israel is truth , so when you said that the kingdom was to be restored to Israel in the first century , this cannot be true . First , Jesus was a sin sacrifice to take away the sins of the first death that Adam put all men under , the grave ( Genesis 2:15-17 , " And the LORD God took the man , and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it . And the LORD God commanded the man , saying , Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat : But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil , thou shalt not eat of it : for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die " ; And 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 , " For since by man came death , by man came also the resurrection of the dead . For as in Adam ALL die , even so in Christ shall ALL be made alive " ) ; Which can be explained in Isaiah 53 . Second , the God of Israel stated in Jeremiah 31:31-40 , that he will make a new covenant with the house of Israel , and with the house of Judah ; and he will put his laws into their inward parts , and write it in their hearts ; and will be their God , and they shall be his people . In Jeremiah 31:35-40 , the God of Israel states that the seed of Israel will cease from being a nation before him forever , if the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night , which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar , depart from before him . Esteem YAHUAH Elohim , go outside and look for these ordinances ! If you see them by day or night , then Israel has not departed from being a nation before him . The physical seed of Israel without faith cannot inherit the kingdom of God , and Israel as a nation rejected the Messiah almost 2000 years ago ; and that is why he scattered them to the four corners of the earth ; but this will happen at his return to setup his kingdom for 1000 years on this earth ( Ezekiel 20: 30-38 , " Wherefore say unto the house of Israel , Thus saith the LORD God ; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers ? and commit ye whoredom after their abominations ? For when ye offer your gifts , when ye make your sons to pass through the fire , ye pollute yourselves with all your idols , even unto this day : and shall I be enquired of by you , O house of Israel ? As I live , saith the LORD GOD , I will not be enquired of by you . And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all , that ye say , We will be as the heathen , as the families of the countries , to serve wood and stone . As I live , saith the LORD GOD , surely with a mighty hand , and with a stretched out arm , and with fury poured out , will I rule over you : And I will bring you out from the people , and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered , with a mighty hand , and with a stretched out arm , and with fury poured out . And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people , and there will I plead with you face to face . Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt , so will I plead with you , saith the LORD GOD . And I will cause you to pass under the rod , and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant : And I will purge out from among you the rebels , and them that transgress against me : I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn , and they shall not enter into the land of Israel : and ye shall know that I am the LORD " ) . Esteem YAHUAH Elohim , please read Isaiah , Jeremiah , Ezekiel , Deuteronomy 30 , Leviticus 26 , etc ... ; they tell of the restoring of Israel as a nation . In Acts 1: 6-7 , " When they therefore were come together , they asked of him , saying , LORD , wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel ? And he said unto them , It is not for you to know the times or the seasons , which the Father hath put in his own power " . In Matthew 21:42-46 , Jesus was talking to the chief priests and pharisees , who did not believe , not the believing Israelites ( Romans 11:1-36 ) ; please read it . Shalom !
Mat 24:33 "Even so, when YOU see all these things, YOU know that it is near, right at the door". If Jesus was talking about a FUTURE generation He would have said, "Even so, when THEY see all these things, THEY know that it is near, right at the door.
You're right. Also in 1Thessalonians 4:17. After that we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. The key word here is STILL ALIVE.
The mention of the abomination of desolation occurs in Matthew 24:15. Matthew 24:16 instructs people to flee to the mountains. If it’s the last people of all humanity, what good would it do to flee to the mountains. Furthermore, Jesus was speaking to his disciples, “when ye see”, not when “they see…” He wasn’t speaking to some far off generation 2,000 years hence. Third, the verse has to be rephrased to read, “The generation that sees this….” The abomination of desolation happened in the first century.
to me, the most natural way to understand what Jesus meant by "This generation" in Matthew 24 is the generation that He was speaking to. The Great Tribulation followed by the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple which ends (= "The End") all sacrifices and basically the Old Covenant age ( = The End of Age; = the Second Coming of Christ; = the Judgement) happened historically in AD70. AD70 is within one generation (ie 40 years to the Jews) from the time Jesus gave the Olivet Discourse around AD30. Some of his hearers were still alive in AD 70 as Jesus said in Matthew 16:28 that they would live to see the Son of Man coming.

Good luck for those Dispen for pushing their luck by throwing “this generation” into the future and they suffer the consequences of a panic attack expecting the eminent return of Christ with signs and some cataclysmic events. How many times they failed in end time predicted prophecy. They should’ve been give up their misguided interpretation. ✅
Thank you, David, for your diligence and love to God's word. I am using your Bible commentary on your website which is proving invaluable in getting a deeper meaning to the scriptures. God bless you.
@@DavidGuzikEnduringWord just read chapter 23 when Jesus says the woes. He is talking about that generation in his time. Verse 36 Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation. He is talking about the same generation in chapter 24. It's all about the end of the Jerusalem system of things in 70 AD
Dave What about the idea that if it were not for the mystery period of Grace that was unknown that those present would have passed away after the events that would have followed naturally had the Lord not inserted the Church Age of Grace. If you take the age of grace out of the time line just for comparison of fulfilment of the statement, there would not be a conflict about Jesus statement saying that there will be some standing presently still alive at Jesus 2nd Coming. All the events would come to pass. The Church age of grace would have been a mystery and would not interrupt the time line. Just a possible answer to the question, Thanks for your teachings Maranatha.

October 12, 1979 - The return of "Son of Man" The worlds largest & strongest storm called "Hurricane Tip" took place. The storm started off in the east and went towards the west. The storm caused a freak event killing 13 Marines at Mount Fuji camp. These 13 Marines were corpses around which Vultures gathered. Back then, American called the Japanese "Vultures" in a famous song patriotic song before dropping an atomic bomb. The song was called "Remember Pearl Harbor" The Servant
I don't know. If you interpret it as this "age", then I would have to say that it means the age of the Old covenant. In this case it did come to an end with the judgement of Israel around 70AD. But if it means this "generation", I would have to say that it also did come to pass within that generation with the destruction of the temple and of Jerusalem. But thank you for giving us your side.
This is the real deal!!!!! It took years for me to realize that the only way to come to terms with Matt .24 was to believe that these events were indeed 1st century realities. The real kicker was Matt 26:64.!!!!!! That unlocked everything!!!!!
19:17 Yes, I see this all the time in my own congregation and elsewhere. People forget who the true audience is. I also see many of these same people violating one of Jesus' commandments re: prayer...keep it brief and do not repeat yourself.
Matthew 7:23 , " And then will I profess unto them , I never knew you : depart from me , ye that work iniquity . Question , what is iniquity ? Answer ( Psalm 51:2-3 , " Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity , and cleanse me from my sin . For I acknowledge my transgressions : and my sin is ever before me " ) ; So iniquity is sin . What is sin ? Answer ( 1John 3:4 , " Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law : for sin is the transgression of the law " ) ; So the law of God put you in sin if you do not keep them . Jesus Christ is saying , that he does not know the one's who do not keep the Father's law ; remember Jesus Christ is the mediator , the covenant is between the Father and the covenant people . Finally , please read John 15 . Shalom !
I think you're wrong about your definition of the word this generation because Jesus was talking in front of his disciples and was clearly talking about their generation. And in case you missed it kindly read 1Thessalonians 4:16,17,18. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice from the archangel and with the trumpet call of God and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that we who are still alive and are left will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
Pastor David I am an avid follower of your teachings but I respectfully disagreed with your exposition of Mat24 on "this generation" . In Mat23:36 Jesus said: (Mat 23:36) Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation and again said .(Mat 24:34) Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Jesus explicitly was answering and addressing the audience of the first century Jewish about the impending destruction (Mat24:2-3) and if not it won't make sense to the ancient Israelites at all.
No he wasnt. The generation who saw the destruction of the temple. Understand what you read said Jesus. The abomination of desolation was just prior to 70 AD
If Jesus meant a generation 2000 plus years late he would have said "that" generation and not "this" generation. Also, why not just believe was Jesus said about the AOD in Luke 20:21? It seems odd to me that we are given the exact definition of the AOD and we reject it because it does not agree with what we have been taught. Also, I would like to see how "you interpret some of you will not taste death" (Mat. 16:28) to mean something other than hat it says. There is no reason to make Jesus's words more complicated and confusing that they really are.
The challenge with prophecy is that it hasn't happened yet! :-) Until then, we study and try to interpret the scriptures the best we can. Inevitably, there will be disagreement amongst Believers, but that's OK. We just do our best and give grace to those with opposing views. Check the Enduring Word commentary for comments on Matthew 16. Blessings on you!
@@DavidGuzikEnduringWord I would disagree. The challenge you have with prophecy is that is has happened and happened in the time frame Jesus said it would happen. When you look at the world around us today and try and interpret fulfilled prophecy you will always be mistaken.
Some details don't seem to fit the ad70 event. Such as 30 "then all the tribes of the earth will mourn" Destruction of the temple did not cause ALL the tribes on earth to mourn. 22 "And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short." The persecution surrounding the AD 70 event did not endanger ALL HUMANS. 31 "And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." Don't believe that happened in AD 70. Similar to 1 Thess 4 "13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord." The Apostles may not have understood all the implications of their questions, but Jesus's answer seems to go beyond AD 70.
14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." People in China heard the gospel before AD 70?
You mentioned in about 5 minutes in your video about the Great tribulation. Matthew chapter 24 Matthew 24:21 talks about it being the Great tribulation. If you read the rest of those chapters onward you would realize that the rapture occurs after the tribulation and so does the second coming. So everything has been fulfilled and Jesus will not return because he already has done so. I don't need to explain it and fancy words just read your Bible and read it word for word
Eric, Respectfully, there is room for gracious disagreement on this. There are many anointed Bible scholars and historians that would disagree with you. As Christians, we must learn how to graciously disagree with one another. Blessings in Jesus.
I have to disagree with the answer given for question 2: I never knew you. What Jesus said as to why he never knew them was because they weren't doing the will of God, not that they didn't have a relationship with him. The will of God is not for us to do miracles, signs and wonders, but rather to give our neighbor water when they thirst, cloths when they are naked, food when hungry, to visit those that are sick or in prison. These are the ones Jesus knows.
Clifton, you make a good point. I would simply add that the reality of one's relationship with Jesus is, in many ways, demonstrated by their actions - including helping those in need.
That's not right. Jesus was referring to those who think they can work their way into Heaven. Get it? It's pretty simple. That still goes on to this very day. People think that their works will bring them salvation or favor with the Lord. Don't get it twisted.
Clifton Green i think the will of God is to have a personal relationship with God, to know God in spirit and in truth and out of that relationship to live out our lives the way God has intended for us of which reaching the lost, helping the needy etc etc are part of having a personal relationship with Him. It is just religion if we do not have a personal relationship with Jesus and merely just carrying out duties. Many Christians can end up like Martha or the religious leaders in Jesus’ days, full of works and legalism but no relationship with God nor have mercy towards others.
In the Hebrew year 5777,Mr Donald Trump was president in 2017 on the first day of inauguration he was 70yrs 7 months & 7 days he is the sign of this generation won’t pass away.
David, "this generation " did see the abomination of desolation , they did fulfill the end of the age. The old covenant was done away with like no temple, no sacrifices, no priests ,their house was left desolate. Read Hebrews also read Josephus The Jewish wars. Thank you.
I look at it this way...God is faithful in his word...if I see in the text 8 of 10 things fulfilled, then God was faithful, it happened in the first century. If you take this as 2 of the 10 signs didn't happen, so it must be future, are you believing God was faithful?...
I think God is a 10/10 kind of promise keeper. Two possibilities in my mind: we just don't know how the other two signs were fulfilled OR the tribulation hasn't happened yet.

Shalom !
John the Baptist did not struggle with doubt! Chances are he was an Essene and they were very knowledgeable about end time events and the coming of the Messiah. There were two teachings about the Messiah, that he would come as Messiah ben Joseph and/or Messiah Ben David. The Jews were divided on, if this would be one person coming as both or if there would be two different people coming. John the Baptist was wanting to know are you coming as Messiah Ben Joseph, meek and lowly, or are you coming at this time as Messiah Ben David to take Jerusalem back from Rome and begin your earthly reign?
You haven't studied the bible enough if you think it is inthe future. It was all fullfilled in Ad 70 when the last days of the old covenant came to an end. I can't believe that so called bible scholars still believe this. Study hermeneutics. Who was Matthew written to, when was it written and why it was written. A generation in every place in the bible refers to 40 years. Why would it mean something different in this situation. I feel sorry for people who believe that it is a futurist thing. They just have got it.
Howdy Pastor, I hope your Texas trip goes well! Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters-one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.-Matt 17:4 I understand why Peter wants to make miniature Temples but how did he know it was Elijah and Moses? Did they wear name tags! LOL, 😁 I been thinking about buying Umberto Cassut commentary on the book of Genesis! So far I read the free preface and I enjoy his writing style, but I have never heard of him. Have you ever read his works? If so, do you recommend him? I have asked these questions before, but I realize pastors tend to have a busy life!
What's so amazing about the word of God is that it don't reveal everything. We know it was Elijah and Moses in the mount of configuration because it says so. How did Peter know? It doesn't say, but we know that he knew it was, because he said it was. I would suggest this commentary on Genesis, by Robert Alter. While i was listen this video, i think i got an appropriate answer. Its the word THIS that confuse. I dont think he talks about the generation of Jesus time. The temple is destroyed 40 years later. A generation is around 20 years. So thats 1 or 2 generations later. When he uses "THIS", its the generation of the last days.
How...? The same 'coming' is spoken of in Matthew chapter 16:28. The answer is those standing there! How do you jump from the who Jesus is speaking with and to and land up 2000 yrs later?
Pastor Lance replies - Sorry, we disagree. In Matt 16, Jesus was clearly referring to Peter, James, and John who immediately after He said that He took to the Transfiguration. It's the very next verses.
@@DavidGuzikEnduringWord Thank you for the reply and no worries about disagreeing. Mt 16 and Mt 24 speak of the same coming, the Parousia, the 2nd coming. The transfiguration was not a coming and the language of some standing here will not taste death suggests at least some years in the future. The transfiguration was 6 days later. It definitely does not fit.
If “this generation” in MT 23, means their generation, when Jesus was foretelling the destruction of their temple to those Pharisees and Scribes; and recorded history confirms that it does; then why does “this generation” in MT 24, not mean their generation when Jesus was speaking to His disciples about the destruction of their temple, (same one), and His coming? And by the way, the "interpretive core" of MT 24 & 23 is THAT temple. For its destruction was the visible sign of the coming of the Lord.
makarov, thanks for your question. Matthew 23 speaks of the generation that was there in front of Jesus. The people that he was speaking to. In Matthew 23, Jesus is saying, "Woe to you....". He was speaking to and abut the people that were there, standing in front of him. Not a future generation, but those who were present at that moment. In Matthew 24, Jesus is speaking about the things concerning far future events, in including his return. He was asked by his disciples about end time events. The context of questioning was different. Here are the notes from the commentary. I hope that they help. enduringword.com/bible-commentary/matthew-24/ Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place: This statement of Jesus is one of the central reasons many have looked for all or most of the events of this chapter to be fulfilled in A.D. 70, approximately 40 years after Jesus spoke these words. Yet as previously argued, to assert this is to greatly stretch the most natural interpretation of the abomination of desolation, of the severity of the great tribulation, of the cosmic signs, and of the coming of the Son of Man. It is better to let those passages have their most natural meaning and to fit this promise into that framework. i. The generation Jesus meant cannot be the generation of the disciples, because they never saw Jesus return in glory as described in Matthew 24:30. It is undoubtedly the generation that sees these signs. These events and Jesus’ return won’t be on some 1,000-year timetable, but will happen in succession. ii. It has been suggested that the word generation could also be translated “race,” and is a promise that the Jewish race would not be extinguished and would survive to the end. This would be a valuable promise, but some commentators (such as France) claim this is an embarrassingly wrong translation. Yet others - such as Adam Clarke, who strongly believed the events of this chapter were almost all fulfilled in A.D. 70 - writes, “This race; i.e. the Jews shall not cease from being a distinct people, till all the counsels of God relative to them and the Gentiles be fulfilled.”
@@DavidGuzikEnduringWord No! Jesus was talking about the various events that were to occur around THAT SAME TEMPLE in MT 23. How can you not see that? Luke defines what the abomination of desolation is in his text as being when Jerusalem would be surrounded by armies. That was the Roman Armies. And Jesus said IMMEDIATELY after that tribulation his coming and gathering would occur. How is it possible to not see plain simple scripture?
@@makarov138 There are many people that are more knowledgable and intelligent than either one of us that disagree on this subject. Christians can disagree on their interpretations of scripture, and that's ok, but what is important is that we love and respect each other and allow for disagreement. @@DavidGuzikEnduringWord None of Jesus' Disciples had placards on their walls nor PHDs to brag about. Yet they understood Jesus' teachings and wrote them in their first-century letters and texts for many uneducated people to read, hear, and understand, that the Lord's coming would occur immediately after the tribulation when Jerusalem and the temple would be destroyed. That is the TRUTH of this matter. Blessings as you continue to study God's word as well!
David You are wrong. This earth will last forever so says the Bible. Psalms 104:5; 78:69 Ecclesiastes 1:4. There are many more verses. You give your opinion but not the evidence of Scriptures to say that Jesus was talking about the "last generation". He would have simply said "the last generation on earth" or whatever. Many false preachers are simply leading you astray with all of their end times nonsense. Most will often use Matthew 24 and the Daniel 9 and 12 scriptures when talking about their misguided beliefs. So let’s take a look at the Daniel scriptures here. “Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy. “Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times. “And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.” Daniel 9:24-27 NKJV Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things? ” And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand. “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. “But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”” Daniel 12:8-13 NKJV Many people are foolishly believing that the last week of Daniel’s 70th week prophesy has not occurred yet and that this week represents a 7 year tribulation period that will eventually come upon this earth. These people fail to understand that Daniel’s 70th week occurred when Jesus the Messiah came to this earth and He put an end to the daily sacrifice. So when was the daily sacrifice actually taken away? When Jesus died on the cross and He presented us with a New Covenant. It was then completely removed from existence when the second temple was destroyed around 70 AD. So what was the abomination of desolation that was spoken of in Daniel? Well let’s now take a look at the Matthew 24 scripture. “Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together. “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near-at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” Matthew 24:1-35 NKJV You really need to read the Matthew 24 scripture with an open mind since many are foolishly believing that the last days are talking about the final days of this earth. These people clearly overlook the fact that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord and a thousand years are like a day. “But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” II Peter 3:8 NKJV The abomination of desolation was when the Roman Empire destroyed the second temple on the 9th of Av in 70 AD. Just before that occur there was a Jewish rebellion against the Roman’s ruling in Judea. The Jews had forced the Romans out of Jerusalem. The Roman Emperor Titus then crushed the rebellion and this is when the second temple fell and was destroyed. An abomination means a great sin and desolation means complete emptiness or destruction, devastation and ruin. So the Roman Empire did a great sin by causing the destruction of the temple of God in Judea. So has all of these things that Jesus was talking about in the Matthew 24 been happening over the last two thousand years? Yes. Has there been earthquakes and famines and wars over these last two thousand years? Yes. Are there preachers who are claiming that Jesus sent them to preach? Yes. Are theses false preachers basically saying that you should come to my temple and worship because Christ is here? Yes. “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it.” Matthew 24:23 NKJV Are many false preachers claiming then can heal others by the laying of hands! Yes. “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. Matthew 24:24-25 NKJV Jesus was telling His disciples about all of the things that would occur over these last couple of thousand years since to God they are His final days. Jesus was also talking to his disciples and the people of that time when He stated that this generation shall not pass till all these things have taken place. And all of these things did happen in the disciples lifetime. The end of the daily sacrifices and the destruction of the second temple which was clearly the abomination that causes desolation. Most fail to realize that at the beginning of the Matthew 24 chapter is when was telling His Jesus that the temple would eventually be destroyed. These false preachers of today are trying to get you to believe that Jesus was talking about the Rapture and the final days of this earth in this Matthew 24 scripture. That is completely false and it is simply a lie. This generation shall not pass was simply referring to the disciples and the other people who would eventually see the destruction of the second temple which was the abomination of desolation. Since Jesus knew that there was going to be a revolt in Judea this is why Jesus said that those in Judea should flee to the mountains since Jesus knew that there would be over a million deaths during this revolt. Jesus also knew that it would eventually end with the complete and utter destruction of God’s second temple.
why on earth are we still here then.matt 24:14 gives a lie to what you say in that it says after the gospel will be preached to all the world , then the end shall come.the end hasnt come because we are still here.
john newman you clearly have no idea what Jesus is relating to us and you clearly cannot comprehend what Jesus meant. Jesus was telling us that this life is our great tribulation and the one who endures to the end of their life will then be saved. Why "this generation", and not that generation!; if Jesu is referring "generation" it as a time term! What if Jesus, is also referring to the term for the people , as used in Exodus 34: 7, and even later with a modification, in Ezekiel 18: 20? I f Jesus , in the verse, is using a "doble entendre " figure of speech, also referring to generation as people, then then this Biblical material could be another convincing proof (aside from the case of John The Baptist,as Elijah, "who is to come") No church scholars can no longer deny the truth of Reincarnation! With the recent studies on little children ages from 1 to 2 years old, which proves Reincarnation, the truth about reincarnation can no longer be argued nor questioned!
The word for adultery is actually translated to fornication, that part of the Bible was written to a Jewish civilization, in that civilization if people were engaged to be married and the woman had sex before the marriage they could break the marriage off. Marriage can never be broken, you cannot remarry anyone - study to see if what is said is true.
Jus4kiks Huh you cannot re-marry anyone? Why lol? Wouldnt if be great if a couple who had divorced do that, especially when children are involved? It would be much better than marrying a new person and ending up with blended families wouldnt it?
@@wem-c9f when two normal angry people get divorced, and they have children, the children are always the losers because it’s very very rare that either one of the parents bring around people that would ever be able to love or have understanding for the children the way the mom and the dad do. Children are always the victims in this and I’ve heard different child psychologists say it’s better that people stay together and just get along WITH the “help of God “who can fix everything IF we allow him to -because children have so many problems with people that do not love them and disrupt and invade their family space! I agree that remarriage is wrong if there are children involved and I have seen situations that the children seemed to be more loved by a newer step parent, (I haven’t seen that but A-few times) -but I can’t NOT believe what Jesus said about the subject of remarriage. I believe with true repentance, comes doing what is RIGHT concerning our family, not just moving forward to A new family. Every thing takes lots of work.
John the Baptist in prison needs to hear from Jesus to be comforted, John isn't doubting who Jesus is, probably I would ask the same question if i was alone in prison cell for the work of God
Sorry to be contrary, but I hope this is helpful to the discussion. It is not strictly accurate to use the term "the great tribulation." In Matthew there is no "the", it is simply great tribulation or great affliction. It is helpful to compare with Luke. Matt. 24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Luke puts it as great distress, and wrath upon this people, the reference to suckling children shows we are dealing with the same topic: Luke 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. This "great distress" is followed by "the times of the Gentiles." of which we are living in. What is for Matthew great tribulation is for Luke great distress. This shows us that the tribulation described by Matthew happened in 70AD. It is a "no nor ever shall be," not to be repeated. Sincere regards.

All the people who listen to Christ warning left Judaea after the armies withdrew . In Matthew 24:21 , the tribulation begin for Israel , the only nation under the covenant of the God of Israel ( Romans 2:11-15 ) ; which means that all ( Israelites and the Gentiles ) must keep his laws to be justified . Shalom !
I dont think when the bible says "This generation" it refers to Israel. I personally feel Jesus is talking the millennial generation. Late 90s especially
Most of the prophecies by people of Matthew 24 , Mark 13 , and Luke 21 are not correct ; we do not read these chapters in their proper context . Matthew 24 , Mark 13 , and Luke 21 gives an account of the same conversation between Jesus and his disciples at the Mount of Olives . David, i got a Question, having the believe that Jesus in not the supreme God, that he is not in the same level as the Father, that he was created , is the doctrine a serious heresy? can you go to hell for believing that?, Or this is just like a brother in Christ that doesnt believe in the gifts. :) If anyone in the comments could help me with biblical thinking of my Question that would be apreciated
He was not created, he is God, The creed puts it clearly, We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made.
@@world-incrissis8314 Jesus is the Supreme God and yes he is in same level with God the father because he is God too. Theres no hierarchy between the 3 , they are all 3 Supreme God and all in the same level of hierarchy and all in agreement and one fellowship. you have to believe Jesus is God, because he is.
But the generation that sees the tribulation IS the generation of the disciples... Jesus said YOU will be delivered up and they shall kill YOU while speaking directly to his disciples in verse 9. In verse 15 it says when "ye" shall see the abomination of desolation. The context here is that the disciples came to him privately to ask him about the signs of the end. And Jesus told them they would experience this, he told it to their face. How does "you" and "ye" mean people 2000 years in the future and not the disciples who he was talking to? I could be wrong but it doesn't make sense to me how saying this will happen to "you" while speaking to the disciples who came to him privately could refer to anyone other than them After the millennial reign, Satan is let out of the bottomless pit to deceive the nations of the whole earth for a little season (revelation 20). They knew Christ was reigning for 1000 years yet they somehow got deceived, whether actually deceived about Christ or deceived into being evil and following Satan. Could we be in this season and the history of the past 2000 years is fake?
Maybe because He knew His words would never pass away? Matthew 24:35 Why would He even say that unless He knew it could be for a while? We also know that the Gospel needed to be spread to the farthest reaches of the earth before the end would come. Matthew 24:14. Jesus was aware that His words would be preserved for future generations. Just as it says in Psalm 102:18 "These words are written for a future generation still not born." And look, a mention of His appearing in glory. Psalm 102:16 This tied to Zion being rebuilt and favor being shown to her stones and dust. Psalm 102:13-14 Who was cut off in the midst of His years? Yet He was established before there ever was an earth and before its foundations were laid? And He really lives through all generations and His years never end? Proverbs 8:23, 35
Mathew 24:34 is definitely talking about the Future but yet He says "this generation " which is His current time 1st century. This is not a good answer sir lol. But none the less I believe in God I dont think He lied we just need to find the solid answer.
Jesus related this prophecy to a few apostles who had approached him privately. The apostles would soon be anointed with Holy Spirit. When Jesus spoke of “this generation,” he had in mind his anointed followers. Jesus indicated the Kingdom will come after “this generation” has witnessed the fulfillment of the prophetic sign. There are two groups: Group 1 saw the beginning of the fulfillment of the sign in 1914. Group 2 will live to see the Great Tribulation take place.
@@sunnyjohnson992 He was referring to the generation of his time that would see the destruction of the temple. Not some futuristic generation thousands of years in the future lol. Stop coping.
Jesus also said there be many standing here who will nor die before all these things come to pass. Jesus is not a liar...I think you are the liar..he also said that many standing here will see the kingdom come with power...they are all dead now..except him..and he said when you see the abomination of desolation in Mathew, but in Luke he said when you see jerusalem surrounded by armies, run..and don't go back to the city because these are the days of vengeance written by all the prophets. ..Jesus did not lie, or try to confuse those listening to him...he said that to them..and it happened to them...
“This Generation” that Jesus was referring to was about two groups of spirit-anointed Christians. The first group was on hand in 1914 and they readily discerned the sign of Christ’s presence in that year. Those who made up that group were not merely alive in 1914, but they were spirit-anointed as sons of God in or before that year.-Romans 8:14-17 The second group included in “this generation” are anointed contemporaries of the first group. They weren’t simply alive during the lifetime of those in the first group, but they were anointed with holy spirit during the time that those of the first group were still on earth. Those in the second group are advancing in years; Jesus’ words at Matthew 24:34 gives us confidence that at least some of “this generation will by no means pass away” before seeing the start of the Great Tribulation. Very little time remains now before the King of God’s Kingdom acts to destroy the wicked and usher in a righteous new world!-2 Peter 3:13
Another possibility is the generation that sees the beginning of the end will be the final generation, and I believe the end began on May 14, 1948 when the State of Israel was reborn.
You’re very knowledgeable. Next time try to state the question or what the question should or will be answered in the first 15 seconds. Nothing else matters. Don’t introduce yourself or describe anything but the stated point… No distractions. Next,,, Answer the question within the broadest view and avoid the basic misunderstandings without first addressing the basic answer from a doubter’s point of view. This should be done within the shortest and simplest points first. Don’t be distracted by the accusers or allow the subject to veer the conversation/message off course! Lastly. Give your evidence, via the scripture and your understanding and supported biblical facts that have been tested. Never, ever say ‘I think’ or ‘I believe’ during the remaking video. After you do this your you’ll be on truck to be successful from the standpoint of our human failings. May the Holy Spirit guide you In your presentations and connections. You have the knowledge
We need pastors to stop bring glory to themselves. Because Jesus Christ is the one who die. That is why the reason God is bringing Mega Churches and Pastors down because people have made them Idols to the body of Christ. God hate that !
Not every Pastors have preach the truth of God Word because they have lies to the body of Christ with false doctrines and with a false gospel. And not Pastors have not told the people to Repent of their Sin. The True leaders must tell people to come out of Sin. And to live a life of holiness and to be set apart unto God. There will be Pastors in hell because their are False Pastor's. God want those false Pastors to repent of their Sins and stop leading the people with false doctrines. It very sad that many people want Study their Bible and To seek God face themselves a d stop depending on rheir Pastors. Some Pastors are just preaching for money they are fasle Pastors. I dont listern to those false Pastors
Truly I tell YOU, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened."
How else would they take it? If you were there, how would you take that? Be honest.
This guy is a loose cannon futurist. Do not give him the time of day!!!!

Bless you!
Praise God your voice has recovered. Thanks for this session!!!
Then all the tribes of the land will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
Matthew 24:29-30
That coming in the clouds is exactly what Josephus and Tacitus record just as Jesus said.
God bless you.

messenger Israel I can’t see your comment for some reason.
Can you explain why they are not in context?
messenger Israel your right, Yahweh did promise the Jews a restored davidic kingdom of Israel.
Third, the verse has to be rephrased to read, “The generation that sees this….”
The abomination of desolation happened in the first century.
to me, the most natural way to understand what Jesus meant by "This generation" in Matthew 24 is the generation that He was speaking to.
Aikhong,
Your answer is spot on.
The statement of Jesus is Very Clear and in No Way Confusing, Unless you are a Dispensationalist that wants Reinterpret The Word of God.
All the best and God Bless.☺

Shalom !
There is no 2nd coming in Matt.24!!!!! But there's plenty of "great tribulation" and armageddon.
Thank you, David, for your diligence and love to God's word. I am using your Bible commentary on your website which is proving invaluable in getting a deeper meaning to the scriptures. God bless you.
Very happy to hear it - I’m quite blessed when the online commentary can be helpful to anyone.

The worlds largest & strongest storm called "Hurricane Tip" took place.
The song was called "Remember Pearl Harbor"

Thank you for the answer, very helpful! Byron

Shalom !
When you see all this happening then the generation at that time will not pass then he will return
Obviously the generation was the one when Jesus was on earth and up to 70 AD
Really, when did Jesus return in the clouds?
@@ChristCenteredEschatology Eh David is just coping with failed prophecy.
@@DontDrinkthatstuff It is not failed prophecy, it is fulfilled prophecy. Just because David thinks it failed does not mean it did.
Mental gymnastics and errors are necessary to make Matthew 24 fulfilled in the future.
Some details don't seem to fit the ad70 event. Such as
30 "then all the tribes of the earth will mourn" Destruction of the temple did not cause ALL the tribes on earth to mourn.
Similar to 1 Thess 4
"13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord."
The Apostles may not have understood all the implications of their questions, but Jesus's answer seems to go beyond AD 70.
@@tommartin5667 you are right. Those passages were not referring to all humans everywhere.
They don't seem to fit, but they do.
@@timothykring4772 "no human being would be saved"

You mentioned in about 5 minutes in your video about the Great tribulation. Matthew chapter 24 Matthew 24:21 talks about it being the Great tribulation. If you read the rest of those chapters onward you would realize that the rapture occurs after the tribulation and so does the second coming. So everything has been fulfilled and Jesus will not return because he already has done so. I don't need to explain it and fancy words just read your Bible and read it word for word
Eric,
Respectfully, there is room for gracious disagreement on this. There are many anointed Bible scholars and historians that would disagree with you. As Christians, we must learn how to graciously disagree with one another. Blessings in Jesus.
Dear David can you explain Matthew 5 beteatudes blessed are those blessed are those what is the meaning of blessed???

Interesting perspective. Thanks for sharing.

If you wish, I will put up three shelters-one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.-Matt 17:4
I understand why Peter wants to make miniature Temples but how did he know it was Elijah and Moses? Did they wear name tags!

Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place: This statement of Jesus is one of the central reasons many have looked for all or most of the events of this chapter to be fulfilled in A.D.
Blessings as you continue to study Hod's word!
Do not spread confusion , not all people will experience tribulation because read all, Noah time, example of now,, rapture,,
Many false preachers are simply leading you astray with all of their end times nonsense.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”
Daniel 9:24-27 NKJV
Although I heard, I did not understand. “But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.””
Daniel 12:8-13 NKJV
Many people are foolishly believing that the last week of Daniel’s 70th week prophesy has not occurred yet and that this week represents a 7 year tribulation period that will eventually come upon this earth.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”
Matthew 24:1-35 NKJV
You really need to read the Matthew 24 scripture with an open mind since many are foolishly believing that the last days are talking about the final days of this earth. These people clearly overlook the fact that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord and a thousand years are like a day.
“But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
II Peter 3:8 NKJV
The abomination of desolation was when the Roman Empire destroyed the second temple on the 9th of Av in 70 AD.
Yes.
“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it.” Matthew 24:23 NKJV
Are many false preachers claiming then can heal others by the laying of hands! Yes.
“For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand.
Matthew 24:24-25 NKJV
Jesus was telling His disciples about all of the things that would occur over these last couple of thousand years since to God they are His final days.
He said that His gospel will be preached all throughout this world and then the end will come. You clearly are trying to read and add something to it that is just not there and so you are deceived,

Grateful Princess of God I do not make the rules, God does. You cannot divorce and remarry someone else and be approved in the eyes of our Lord.

How can you say it's the future generations when Jesus says it's that generation? I disagree with this video.
@John Carboni What? Can you explain pls?
Sorry to be contrary, but I hope this is helpful to the discussion.
It is not strictly accurate to use the term "the great tribulation." In Matthew there is no "the", it is simply great tribulation or great affliction. It is helpful to compare with Luke.
Matt. 24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Luke puts it as great distress, and wrath upon this people, the reference to suckling children shows we are dealing with the same topic:
Luke 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
In Matthew 24:21 , the tribulation begin for Israel , the only nation under the covenant of the God of Israel ( Romans 2:11-15 ) ; which means that all ( Israelites and the Gentiles ) must keep his laws to be justified . He was not created, he is God, The creed puts it clearly,
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made.
@@world-incrissis8314 Jesus is the Supreme God and yes he is in same level with God the father because he is God too. I could be wrong but it doesn't make sense to me how saying this will happen to "you" while speaking to the disciples who came to him privately could refer to anyone other than them
After the millennial reign, Satan is let out of the bottomless pit to deceive the nations of the whole earth for a little season (revelation 20). They knew Christ was reigning for 1000 years yet they somehow got deceived, whether actually deceived about Christ or deceived into being evil and following Satan. Could we be in this season and the history of the past 2000 years is fake?
Maybe because He knew His words would never pass away? Matthew 24:35
Why would He even say that unless He knew it could be for a while? We also know that the Gospel needed to be spread to the farthest reaches of the earth before the end would come. Matthew 24:14.
Jesus was aware that His words would be preserved for future generations. Just as it says in Psalm 102:18
"These words are written for a future generation still not born."
And look, a mention of His appearing in glory. Psalm 102:16
This tied to Zion being rebuilt and favor being shown to her stones and dust. Psalm 102:13-14
Who was cut off in the midst of His years? Yet He was established before there ever was an earth and before its foundations were laid? And He really lives through all generations and His years never end?
Proverbs 8:23, 35
Wrong. It was his immediate audience.
Nope. Has the great tribulation started, or has Jesus returned in the clouds?
Yes it has. It occurred 2000 years so just as Jesus said. Start believing what Jesus said if you call your self a Christian.
Hi. Thank you for your response in Matthew 24:34 .
We are at the end times
When animal sacrifice was abolished
“This Generation” that Jesus was referring to was about two groups of spirit-anointed Christians. The first group was on hand in 1914 and they readily discerned the sign of Christ’s presence in that year. Those who made up that group were not merely alive in 1914, but they were spirit-anointed as sons of God in or before that year.-Romans 8:14-17
The second group included in “this generation” are anointed contemporaries of the first group.
He was referring to the genea of his time not some generation thousands of years in the future lol.
