That tone is fucking insane. I actually prefer it to Rikk's. I got OTOP within the first year of it being released...which should tell you how long I have been listening to this song.
Sounds great brother! I’ve seen a couple people cover this song but never get the harmonics right. I think that’s the highlight of the riff. And damn your taste in guitars is impressive, I usually see guys your age playing shredder guitars from Japan. Charvelle- schecter- ESP etc. Nothing wrong with those brands at all I have an ESP myself. Just nothing is better than a Gibson when you find a good one. My opinion obviously. The only thing missing is an SG in your collection, maybe you have one I’ve just never seen it. Anyway another awesome cover bro!
Thanks so much Mark! A little known fact about me is that I LOVE Rikk Agnew's guitar playing, even in his Adolescents days. The harmonics/octaves are the biggest part of the riff for sure. A lot of people play the single note line, but I'm certain that it was octaves and not just single notes. I appreciate your words about my axes as well! My first guitar was a beat up $60 Ibanez Gio from GC. It would bug my skinny bony frame so I knew I wanted a Gibson once I could upgrade (so I got to practicing!) I bet your ESP is very cool. I would LOVE to own a SG Custom like Glen Buxton/Nicke Anderson's some day. Thanks for always commenting and talking music!
@@DevinRyanVitek Yeah the harmonics are definitely being played on the song. That’s awesome you can play by ear also, that’s how I learned as well but now with UA-cam I’ve been playing some songs wrong, not a lot but a few. I wouldn’t really say wrong just not the exact chords as the original player and sometimes my way is a lot easier. You don’t have to thank me I enjoy your videos and talking gear talk never gets old for me especially when you have pretty much the same taste as I do. Yeah I had a Norlin era SG custom that was amazing. Got stolen a few years ago with all of my gear, talk about heartbreaker. Anyway keep the jams coming my friend!🍻🤙
@@markrosenquist8259 I am sorry to hear about the theft of your beloved gear! And yes, I agree, using your ear trains it and also allows you to really hear *what* is going on. I used to have a lazy ear but over the years I would really be able to start picking out details. Now I force myself to figure out parts of songs I like, specifically Backyard Babies' more obscure tracks! Don't beat yourself up about mistakes either. I've been playing 4- 4 1/2 years and I made a mistake in my most recent Backyard Babies cover! (The chorus is C-D#-F-C. I thought I heard in the mix C-D#-A#-C). The great thing is that we can just fix that mistake and keep playing. After all, if we gave it up after the first mistake, we wouldn't be able to play guitar! It's a mental game.
@@DevinRyanVitek Yeah Thanks that was probably one of my worst experiences in life. 5 guitars 3 amps, cabs the whole 9. I’m just now getting my collection going again but will never be able to replace what I had. But yeah I don’t let it bumb me out the only time I really got bummed was when my other guitar player stopped playing in the middle of the song live. It was his first show with us and he was super nervous but still never stop playing in the middle of a song, the audience will never hear the mistake anyway.😅
@@markrosenquist8259 Hahah, yes, just keep going. I actually smile- nobody notices and people instead see you happy on stage. Which, in turn, makes them happy about seeing you.
Very fine, great tone ! Keep it up !
Thank you very much!
Very well done! I like your style, man!
@@derrun9692 Ay thank you very much!

Thank you so much STARRATS! I really appreciate your words and you taking the time to listen. I love Rikk Agnew’s guitar parts a lot.
