Mamamoo - 4 incredible women who refuse to be pigeonholed. I can't think of another group who move so effortlessly from one style to another. 30's Jazz - 60's retro - R&B - Rock - 80's pop - Comedy songs - Rap - Disco. They can do it all. Not to mention they are the absolute queens of the power ballad.
Wheein and Hwasa have matching tattoos btw! They were best friends and auditioned together for rbw (their company now) when they were in middle school and both ended up passing!

My favourite tone and voice is wheein. I definitely see why people are drawn to each person because they really are all so different and that’s the beauty of it. There isn’t one that just stands out because they all do in their own ways. I love it.
I can proudly say, their ballad songs make you so emotional. “I miss you” was so meaningful. You would like their ballad songs, R&B songs, or other powerful songs. They’re so talented soloists too. I mean, their songs /+210 songs/ are just amazing. Whatever song chooses will be awesome.
For something a bit different (but *very* Mamamoo) I recommend reacting to the famous 11-minute video of Mamamoo playing in the car. It’s a combination of total silliness and immense flex. It’s episode 6 of the first season of MMMTV. The version on the official Mamamoo channel has English subtitles.
And if you loved "I miss you" you might want to check out the killing voice performance of Big Mama (an earlier girl - scratch that! - woman group who served as inspiration for Mamamoo creator). They too slaaaayyy! 😄

The jazzy track is ‘Mr. Ambiguous’ (their debut song). Another jazzy track you might like is ‘Piano Man’. Mamamoo is better live and there are plenty of their live video performances on YT.
I’m so glad you two had fun listening to their songs, they are so incredible. I absolutely loved the fact that Britany had to write a note to register her love for I Miss You 😂 She’s gonna love the full version they did live even more. And I bet she’d also like Where Are You Now. It was recent-ish release and seriously I get goosebumps every single time I hear it, it’s so beautiful!
Mamamoo baffles me. They each have the vocal power and talented to stand out on their own and be successful at it, but after years and years they still choose to be together. Yeah, sure, they have their own solos, but they’re still a group. The fact that we get to hear these 4 amazing voices together is mind blowing. If there is a heaven somewhere, I want their harmonies to welcome me to it.

OMG, they’re my top ultimate bias female group. They’ve every genre of song. For me, their songs are just masterpieces. I love their personalities, vocals, songs, and live performances.

Just a fun note for you in case it hasn't been mentioned: Dingga Dingga is about covid and just wanting to go out with your friends, but you can't. If you pay close attention to the lyrics, they're all pandemic/quarantine-related. Lack of Vitamin D from going out, summer flying by, delivery fees from ordering food, just wanting to go and drink with your friends...etc. Catch the references in the MV when you watch! lol
Mamamoo gets a lot of flack from other fandoms, they get the haters because of their abilities. Others just don’t want them to succeed because they know they have that special something that could take them to the top. They do various genres and are great dancers. I wish their company would promote them overseas more, and let everyone see that all Kpop girl groups aren’t girlie and trying too hard to have a sexy image. These women are well rounded and have their own style. They are unique in the girl group kpop industry.
I love egotistical and Aya for the videos but anything live is great.

I've watched this video like 45 times I kid you not they are everything to me 😩 The crazy powerful vocals, belted high notes, and beautiful harmonies is exactly what I love, and the fact that they can easily pull all of that off live just makes me love them even more!!! I have like all of their songs on my playlist lol. Hwasa's raspy tone, Solar's clean and clear high notes and Wheein's breathy voice with Moonbyul's deep rap- omg I love these girls so much and I'm glad you guys are loving them too!!!! 🥰
My favourite is Where are we now, it’s a ballad along the line of I Miss You and the mv is beautiful.

everybody else in the comments has said everything already so I'll just say I'm excited to see your mamamoo journey! i know you'll enjoy their diverse music and solo music. also I do have a newer guide on my channel for 2022, it's two parts (~50 minutes altogether) if you wanted to check it out! since mamamoo releases stuff very often and do many different things, it's good to stay up to date lol

I'm glad that you liked ''Wind Flower". That's their most underrated song though it's the fandom's favorite.
Wind Flower is their only title track that didn't chart or won awards (of course, exempting their first 3 title tracks since they were rookies from a small company)

A good term for hwasa’s tone I hear a lot is “husky” in a sexy way and I’m here for it. Moon star with the lower register is so AMAZINg, wheein with her slightly angelic airy voice and solar with her very stable voice. Love love all of them all so talented . Wonderful video 💜

Is it possible the word you were looking for to describe hwasa's voice was sultry? That's what came to mind for me. She has that deep low voice that's like a seducing whisper at times.
I think my favorite title track of theirs is Décalcomanie, even to this day. Egotistic is a close second.
If I remember right, I think Dingga was released during the pandemic? It was a pre-release single for the album Aya is on. I think you would love the MV. It's really bright and fun.

They've done so many styles and genres over the years and everything seems to work because they put a lot of effort, passion and talent into it. So you cannot put them into one genre - they are their own genre because when you hear a mamamoo song you know it's a mamamoo song.

Mr. Ambiguous is their official debut song. Make sure to find the MV on the Mamamoo channel because that's the only (official) one with subs.
I get what you mean about Gogobebe, but I definitely recommend listening to the whole thing. Such a fun song! Personally gives me the same happy fun vibe as Dingga.

"The jazzy one" was Mr. Ambiguous. If you watch it (I know it did not end up on your short list) make sure you watch it on MAMAMOO channel; you _will_ want the subtitles. This is generally so with their music - very often another channel pops up sooner, like 1theK, and sometimes they won't have the subtitles. Anything you can watch on MAMAMOO channel, watch it there. I know of only one song that doesn't have subtitles on their channel, and it is untranslateable anyway. :P
Also, other Killing Voices are also mindblowing. Especially Taeyeon. Based on which songs you liked here, I am 100% convinced you would love Taeyeon.

Dinnga is my fav! highly recommend! it was written about quarantine, halfway through 2020. They talk about how lonely they are in their homes and how they wish they could go out with their friends.

Big Mama is also a Korean female group of 4, and they’re more mature version of Mamamoo. They debuted in early 2000’s. Their vocals and harmony is INSANE! Please check out Big Mama’s Killing Voice!

Love the reaction! Just as an aside on AYA. It's hard to get on first listen but that whole refrain from the first verse is a genius pile on of metaphors. The line, "You got me jumping like a crazy clown" could be taken literally and kind of doesn't make sense with the next line, "What are you doing, A rotten tooth needs to be pulled out AYA (ouch)" until you realize how Wheein sings the word "clown" like it's "crown" as in a crown of a bad tooth. This happens a lot in Korean songwriting where they play with different meanings of words based upon their pronunciation. Just thought it was really interesting tidbit to throw in here. 😁
Oh also, if y'all react to AYA's MV, you gotta do their performance of it and DINGGA at the MAMA Awards 2020. The performance itself is super dramatic and epic.

Im late!! There is no video for I Miss You but I recommend Where are we now or Paint me mv if brittany wants to here similar vocals in mv form. I love these girls so much I always want to recommend everything. I knew anitra would gravitate towards windflower just because it is fun and Aya. Mamamoo's mv especially the older ones are always interesting sometimes even funny. So i will be excited when you get to see that in the future.. so glad you enjoyed

It's like MooMoos anthem. Kmoos adopted the phrase 놓치 않을게. They made the song about us when they rewrote the lyrics on Queendom. It first appears on Memory which is their third album.

For I Miss You, you want to react to the Queendom performance, there is not an MV. It is safe to react to. One thing that should be on your list to get to is the Immortal Songs Medley. It's their ultimate vocal flex from a 2017 concert. Immortal Songs is a competition show where groups cover songs by famous Korean artists. The actual performances will be blocked but the medley is safe. Kpop groups have not generally done well on it (this has changed recently) but Mamamoo has appeared 14 times and won 3 times.
All 4 also have very successful solo careers. I see you reacted to Hwasa's Maria (other choices Twit, LMM, I'm a B). So for the other 3 I'd suggest: Moonbyul (Eclipse, Absence, Shutdown, Lunatic), Solar (Honey, Spit it Out, Adrenaline), Wheein (Watercolor, You Make Me Happy, Easy)

You should really check out their dance practices, cause that's a whole new world! I recommend Dingga and Hip for their fun sides and Aya for a serious dance practice. Also I prefer the ones not under 1Million Dance Studio, the ones in their own practice room are more fun 😁
A HUGE departure for them is "Waggy", any performance. Just go by the costumes to pick which live performance. Yes, costumes, not outfits.
