I was thinking of you while hunting knives at the local fleamarket today. Picked up some nice u.s. stuff for like $2 a piece. like boker, kabar mk2 , imperial, kingston ,ric-nor? Pal, and the exact same rh- 71 remington /dupont with the bone dragon grip. Yours was on backwards . I was trying to find out if that grip was factory option ."my grip had better detail" and your video came up...figures..lol
@@theknifedoctor thanks for response but you don't know either..lol! I guess I will need to research more about the rh-71 knife coming with the bone dragon head grip, I was hoping maybe your book would have it listed. Maybe they were limited production. Mines in nice shape still with no cracks. Can't tell if it's bone or ivory
Yeah…it’s terrible. I can say though. The mask I was wearing kept me from smelling it. Now when I took it off, the smell was in my shop hours after I cut it.
Several more generations of life left in that great looking knife.
Gosh ya did a super job on that blade ! Thnx Kevin keep on --keep on
Thanks 👍
Doctor, that was an exceptional job!
Great job.

It needs some leather liners at each end of the bone to fill in the gaps .
Thank you!
Loc tite amber 2 part epoxy will squish out and do the same . Still good job on a pre 1939 Remington

Great job mate! Cringed a bit when you got them pliers out though!
Thank you!! LOL
you need some spacers between the antler and the bolsters
Hey bud, it does look good, but you should glue the shaft in the horn.. epoxy
I might try that!! Thanks!
Dang!
I enjoyed this one!!
I can smell that antler through my phone 🤣 man they stink when you cut and grind them
Yeah…it’s terrible. I can say though.

Not trying to tell a fallar what to do.. but I've done it and seen my pap do it. Blade will never move
I have a Remington Rh 71 with a carved Inuit style handle and can't find out anything about it would appreciate any help anyone could give
Wearing a mask is a good idea, when working with antler.
From a zero to $100 dollar bill
Thank you!
@theknifedoctor your welcome. Thanks for posting
Antlers are bone they have marrow inside of them I just seen where some one commented antlers not bone how crazy. If it suits you suits me lol
LOL. Yeah, I just do me and let them do them. Thanks for watching!! 😉
Antler not bone, great job however.
Yes those antlers stink when cutting and really bad when sanding or grinding
Bone does stink😂
