    My mum made me read history and civil rights books from 6/7 years old I also had yo write essays and give her a synopsis of what I read, bear in mind these times she was in pan African groups and also used to take me to some meetings

    Raising a black boy is a real balance. He is only 5, and whilst we try to explain the world he grows up in, we also want him to remain innocent. As an example, we teach him to hit back if someone hits him, but only after he’s warned them a couple times and told an adult. Because no doubt he’d be the one to get caught hitting and he’s seen as the aggressor, simply because he is a bigger black boy. 1:05:31
