I'm a retired aerospace engineer who worked on combat aircraft at Edwards. It's overcast, cold, and raining outside, so relaxing at home and watching these videos is a wonderful way to spend the day. So thanks so much for providing these videos!!
Humble People in a usual peaceful package. I love the way the captain narrates his life as a pilot and for every event, he has a story full of life, very experienced, and very calm personality. I wish him good luck. Thanks, Patrick.
Thank you, Patrick, for bringing us another great video!! Many thanks to Captain TJ and FO Paul for hosting us on this great flight on the queen of the skies!! Congratulations, captain, on your retirement, and I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing time in retirement! Thank you for the walk-around as well. It's always interesting to see what goes into a preflight inspection of the plane. I am very well-acquainted with them, as I spent 22 years in the military in the aviation community. I love to fly! And now we know the key to success at National Airlines....exception skill and good looks...LOL Thanks for that, Captain TJ. That was great! I think it would also be really exciting to be a simulator instructor, as the captain mentioned for his retirement plans. And how great for Paul to be able to realize his dream of being on the crew of the Queen!! I'm very happy for him. I also liked his comments on flying the various Airbus aircraft. I really like the Airbus planes. I've had the benefit of flying on a number of them! Just curious...why did you smear out the crew member at 1:23:55 or so? Did he wish to remain anonymous? Beautiful landing, captain!! Best wishes to all!
The Queen of the skies...as impressive as always. The crew is very professional. The Captain is soooooo relaxed and in control - a sign of his incredible experience levels. I bet he'll miss flying big iron.
Wow!!!! What a monumental flight for the Captain. I wish you a great journey into your free time now. Have a wonderful retirement! My Dad flew RIO in the Thud! I turned out to only be a 40 watt bulb and couldn't see well enough to attain my dream as you have.
The French movie that required the DC3 was most likely Pierre Shoendoerffer’s “Dien Bien Phu”. Thanks for the incredible footage and having all those pilots share their incredible memories and strong passion for aviation !
It is also interesting to hear that two experienced pilots talking about their favorite planes and the differences between Boeing and Air Bus. Big fan of 747! Enjoy your retirement, captain TJ!
Patrick, I flew on a CRJ 700 yesterday! I went from KDCA to KMYR! I fly back to KDCA next Friday. I'm at Myrtle Beach, SC! I flew American Eagle (part of American Airlines). I also got to talk to my pilots before and after the flight! It was a quick 1 hour and 6 minute flight. I live fairly close to Myrtle Beach, but still too far to drive down, so we decided to fly down--and back. It was a great flight yesterday, but I wish the weather could cooperate. How's the weather in Germany this time of year? I've never gone, but one of my cousins is living there as a US Air Force member in the US Air Force band (clarinet). She lives in Lohnsfeld, Germany. I'm part German on my mom's father's side! I was in the band elementary-high school as a flute player! --Julia
Hey Julia, Well the weatcher is a bit cold for this time of the year but we got a nice clean sunny sky. The weather is perfect for some plane watching or for some air-clips to record. I hope you had a awesome flight and a good experience; I love the CRJ 700. Greetings from Patrick :)
Very nice video and a phenomenal big bird . Love the captain's sense of humor. Too bad the industry forces great pilots to hang up their wings once they reach 65.
So what was up with the FO's unofficial "walkaround", when the engines were not yet turned on, but were spinning faster than I would expect just from wind. Am I just underestimating how much a moderate breeze will spin them?
Interesting to see those JAL 772's parked without engines. Most likely the P&W ones as these are all grounded since that UA 772 incident where an P&W engine partly exploded during flight
Unfortunate he has to retire but it sounds like they are allowing him how to remain as an instructor, which is important Otherwise unsure how I feel about this rule, especially when you have someone so lucid.
What an awesome crew. Wish you all the best in your retirement Captain.

Pleasure Siddharta, thanks for your nice comment!
Funny who you see on UA-cam....Have a great retirement, T.J! Aloha, Vance
I wish I could be a young guy again, I would so do this! I love aviation more now then ever!
Now this is one that I am looking forward to as it’s on a 747!!!
The best. Great pilot and excellent sound.
They did a nice job ! : )
Like the captain👌🏻 Wish him another 65 years on a plane. Well paid and less work 😎 good luck man from germany !!
Patrick, new to this channel. Not how you finance these productions but they are more than interesting. Behind the scenes for sure. Well done Sir.

Captain what aircraft did you fly in the USMC? I worked at HA for a year during your tenure.
Very nice and interesting video.
Guess the relief F/O didn't consent to be photographed. Congrats on a wonderful career, Capt.
I like how pilots refer to their aircraft as 74 or 73 or 76
Very nice video and a phenomenal big bird . Love the captain's sense of humor. Too bad the industry forces great pilots to hang up their wings once they reach 65.
Then thegg y can meet the FA on trips.

Absolutely awesome video

So what was up with the FO's unofficial "walkaround", when the engines were not yet turned on, but were spinning faster than I would expect just from wind. Am I just underestimating how much a moderate breeze will spin them?
Oh yeah. That wind makes them look like they're running almost.
