It's a interesting show. I'm growing to like it the more I see it. They don't sound that bad in other videos. The audio in this video just doesn't show them justice. Keep up the good work everybody.

    Musical Arrangements: A+
    Drumline: A+
    Hornline: A+
    Color Guard: A+
    Design: Not specific enough.
Notes: What is this show about? How is the end different from the beginning? What's the show's point of view? Because the designers are hiding and refuse to talk about the show, it's clear that they have no specific intentions for each movement. They have not selected a subject matter, and they have not selected a theme. Can you imagine how powerful this show would have been had it contained a specific arc of action? Some pattern for the audience to grasp? This show's subject, action and theme are too generalized and vague.

I think the mandarins staff actually explained what the show was about and how the props meant certain things at Family Day. For example the props the trombones stand on in the opening are a symbol. I don’t fully remember what they said about it from memory but I am sure they explained it. Not only that I think that you can see how the show evolves as it goes? Or maybe it’s just me? Some of what they explained was that they are trying to get to the Otherside and in the course of that they face challenges like the wall blocking them, struggles, excitement, and happy moments in life. The chains trap the sections until two people take the chain an throw it to free them. A colorguard member is also not able to make it to the otherside as she is being blocked by the brass until she opens up a pathway for her to go through and join the rest of the guard section on the Otherside. There is a few things you might not notice right away but once you see the show a few times you start to see them. They also said something about it being futuristic but again, i don’t fully remember their explanation. I personally love the show and see how it does fit together but it would be nice that mandarins put the explanation of the show out there more. :)!! Audience wise I think many people loved it and forsure has been a fan favorite!

@@v.o9215 Thank you. This show needs to make the dramatic action clear to the audience. What is happening? How is the end different from the beginning?

I might be off on what the show may be about. However I feel it is very literal. I get that it's about getting through a difficult situation an arriving on the other side. To me is the ultimate release after obtaining everything you've been working for. The music gives off that very expression with the ending chord progression, that sense of resolution.

@@fatherf5550 Thanks. That's not enough substance for a $750,000 show. This isn't a middle school production about "the golden rule", or "honesty is the best policy." This is a college level production that needs specificity, a thematic argument, and a high stakes point of view about the world as we know it or imagine it. Don't get me wrong, it's better than Santa Clara's, but it needs more depth.
