- Another ripper of a test in the 1GD 79series we head into the high country set up base camp beyond the Dargo pub at Italian Flat and visit Billy goat bluff 2.8 towing our Jayco Expanda Outback
barely a minute into the video and the ‘ol Spinifex stove makes its first appearance….luv it
Cheers
Love it, thanks for your constant support mate..
love the vid, you should run 5-10psi in your airbags when empty it helps them work as bump stops.
100% good advice, my bad for not doing that...
Fabulous episode 🙂
Thank you kindly
Would you consider the transfer case reduction gears for the 2.8? I understand Marks 4wd sells them for the 70 series transfer case. As you know the V8 and 2.8 use the same transfer case. The reduction would assist down hill.
It would, would limit my "send it" though in low range, maybe a good thing hahaha
@@TeamBulletOffroad it’s only 25% reduction so would offset 33s and provide more parity to the manual on decent.
@@motorsportfreak1 Cheers mate, sounds the goods..
@@TeamBulletOffroad I have a 2020 GXL 70 V8 and impressed after driving the 2.8. In terms of autos, generally they run away compared to manuals on the decline.
If I recall the 4.5 has a 44:04:1 crawl ratio and 2.8 is 38:05:01.
The 300 is 42:62:1, based on my research, reduction gears in the transfer case will bring the 2.8 to 300 or V8 70 crawl ratios .
I’m very close to updating my 70 to the new 2.8. If I do will have the transfer case mod. Love the idea of maintaining highway gears by not changing diff ratios, and nice low low gearing for VHC where I go frequently.
Awesome work there on the specs... Thanks @@motorsportfreak1
Very well filmed and edited
Thanks heaps for the support...
In mine with 3 weeks ownership, the head unit needs to go. Android auto keeps on disconnecting. 2" lift with 500kg constant load happening on monday, already tyre scrubbing on 33's. Reversing without a camera to hitch up is painful at times. Got bullbar on order, off-road animal, but now is delayed till aug/sep 😮 brakes works heaps better than my 2010 with a few close encounters. Might have to re-evaluate other options.
Sounds like a lot going on there, but there's a Kenwood unit people are using now..
Good mate Hope you get to Billy goats bluff from the top
If not we going back... you coming next time?
On your gps you can change it to satellite be much better than following a blue line shows you the terrain 👍🏻
Awesome tip thanks Hayden...
Leave 5psi in their bags when not towing 👌🏼
Nice 1, cheers
missed the pinnacles up the top of billy goats 🥲
Sadly
