I recently received my GMW-B5000SS-2 50th anniversary square. Not sure how often I'll wear it, but I'm glad to have it.
you have it early.. I know I thought the exact same but when I have that feeling and do not buy I always regret it, every time... When Casio release a thing and you are not sure, for me, it means I am sure 😂

Yes I was watching a lot of the Japanese sellers/websites. Worked out cheaper for me to get one from Japan.
Here in Australia they're going to be about $1299aud.
From Japan it only cost in $900 range, also no import fee for Australia on an item under $1000👌🏼.
@@mwboost ah yes I think it is cheaper for you to get from JP and then you are assured the JP packaging also.
Spending a lot on watches, I love G-shocks for sporting activities like running and swimming, Tissot Sideral as a daily watch and Luminox at night because it shines all the time
ah thank you.. yes I do like a watch for occasions and I am probably the worst for changing the watch I am wearing.
Mine arrived yesterday, and I love it. The blue and gold highlights aren't too blingy, and the fluted gold inner bezel (rehaut?) catches the light beautifully. The only downside is that the mirror-polished case is a real smudge-magnet.
I have a 7.5 inch wrist, so I'll need to (carefully) remove two links - it won't fit anyone with a wrist larger than 8 inches. I regularly wear a Hamilton Khaki Field (in bronze) and a Bulova Hack (98A255), both of which are 38mm, so the Casiotron doesn't seem at all titchy. I'm now waiting for the 50th Anniversary 'Sky & Sea' version of the full-metal square: GMW-B5000SS-2. It's a bit steep at £639
ah yes I was going to say you probably need only 2 links removing. They are fiddly but if you remove in the arrow direction and put back the way you push out it is fine. Yes the blue & gold is nice and I think it is going to be a collectable one. I too am waiting for the B5000SS as I think the top part of the bezel that is blue is now a separate part of the outer bezel unlike the normal bezel so this is going to be interesting.

The gold accents and triangle design of the buckle are beautiful. By the way, many people in Japan think that the price is fair, but the reviews overseas seem to be different. If the product is made in Japan, I think it's inevitable that it will be a little more expensive.
I do think it is a classic watch design and colour way.
I heard that that there will be a lot more of 50th anniversary available than the truly limited than the 1st TRN50.
I hope so! I really like what Casio do and they way they deliver pieces to all segments of the market and I love the way they just do what they want to do regardless of what idiots like me say 😆

Great review 👍. I bought the blue/gold one last week as well. Unfortunately 50/50 as to wether returning it, for me a bit too much of a cash in yes the first one you bought looks near as damn it the original but come on 50th square and an Edifice coming along as well those are nothing to do with 1974. Last year was the 40th square anniversary (I ended up with several off that release) I like my casios and have quite a lot but feel this is a step too far. For me anyway 😀
blue and gold is an interesting colour way and I thought the same at first but then I thought how might I feel after a while and then I thought it looked pretty cool.
Are they not going to release this in the US?
I am sure they will release in the US I would be surprised if they did not.
Imagine a steel G-Shock or a Tron in the color and pattern of this Tron clasp.

It's good to see you back bud....at the first place, a piece of cardboard in that price tag is a poop, that's disgusting, together with that ''potato bag'' for a watch.
What was wrong with a good old fat cardboard JDM Casio boxes, like for the old Master of G's??
And also, it's extremely overpriced and overhyped for what it is. A genuine Casiotron has been basically a cheap female watch since it was tiny by today's standards (but it was a work of a genius). Casio should hire a good designers instead of a stretching of a dead cat. I love Casio, a lot, but this is something bit like a Swatch - Omega speedmaster.

I imagine other people think the same and at first I had to think but now I have the C-Tron I do like it. But what I would do is take a look at one as I changed my mind when seeing it in the hand. Thank you again.

@@douglaskrueger357 my guess is the UK got 50 pieces in total so from that you might be able to work out how many are made for the whole world. My guess is 1000 which it not very many for Casio. I could be wrong it really is just a wild guess.

@@douglaskrueger357 actually the number of 1000 seems too low.. perhaps it is between 1000 - 4000 but again it will be low for Casio. Yes the blue and gold GMW-B5000SS is on the radar 🤓

I hope to as I think it would be cool to compare with my other G's and of course the TRN-50SS. I thought someone would say that so thank you for your comment.
In Bangkok, they’re not available yet. I heard Casio Thailand will bundle all 5 watches as a set. I dont like it. I dont wat the other 3. 😅

the old originals are cool.
The gold and blue are still available so the demand isn’t as great as the original.
I've just had a look and it is not available on-line but I think the G-Shock store in Carnaby Street, London might still have this piece in store.

@@baldilocks1914 I think will be as popular and they are limited so I do think they will sell out. When G-Shock do this the models to all seem to sell out.
Only 4,000 of the original. Original will always hold their value. New one is not worth $550
for any other brand 4000 would be a lot and lifetime production but for Casio 4000 is not very many 🤓
We could solve the whole problem by buying watches that we like. I’ve never bought a Casio with value retention as a consideration. 😂
@@Brynn-be9zr you are correct only buy what you really want and not for an investment. If in the future it holds its value then that is a bonus.

I can understand that view but the new is still ok.. I expect having both is the best option.
As mentioned before, having both is a great option! As a watch enthusiast, I have a first edition Casiotron, and I bought this new blue-gold one for a daily wear. For my grandchildren, both will be vintages.😊
