@@CowboysVa71man it's a well known fact that Jimmy Johnson was fired coming from Jerry Jones mouth. Jimmy Johnson wanted in as part owner of the Cowboys because Jimmy knew he had a DYNASTY. Jerry Jones wouldn't budge.
Jimmy Johnson walked out. He quite.
The team Jimmy assembled was so damn good that Jimmy didn't have to be coach of the Cowboys. The proof is that Jerry Jones hired a college coach Barry Switzer & he own the SB with the team Jimmy Johnson assembled . That goes to a coach that knows how to evaluate talent, Jimmy Johnson.

Nothing but the truth. With Jimmy that team would have won 5 in a row! 94 and 96 would have been a lock. I won't swear to anything after that with the loss of so much talent in free agency but I 94 and 96 I absolutely believe he would have brought home the Lombardi Trophy.

Jerry fired Jimmy because he was jealous of the credit Jimmy got (which was well-deserved of course). Jerry said any idiot could win with that team. The team was still good for a couple of years because it was still the team that Jimmy built. After that, not so much.

He set that team up so they had an answer for everything on offense. In 1991 Irvin has breakout year and makes teams scared of him, then Emmitt has lanes to run in behind that classic O line. Emmitt and Irvin getting stopped? Toss to 84 or deep route to 80. Hell, even 85 Williams could go deep. 48 Moose was always good for a short run or a shuttle pass on 3rd down. Was unbelievable to watch how fast their defense was able to swarm the run or limit passing effectiveness. The 91-95 Cowboys were a work of art.

That's why he's got two rings. I'm from time of Buddy Ryan and Buddy didn't care about anything except destroy and he was the best defensive coordinator of all time. The 46 with the Bears 46 with the Eagles

Johnson and Landry were the best coaches cowboys had. Remember when Landry was coach the huddles were the perfect circles

I want to coach LB and my first questions I will as is “what’s the first thing you notice” a lot of them will probably call out a formation or point out where the best player is. I say “wrong” focus on the conditions of the field before you look at the formation.
Over the course of a game the surface will show last game wear no matter how great of a job the grounds keeper does.

I'm sorry. Don't want to diss Emmett, but I never played or coached for a team that didn't have at least one coach who did those things. It was standard standard procedure!

Jimmy Was One Of The Greatest. Won A Championship In College, Went To A National Championship & Lost To Joe Paterno. Lost A Controversial Game Against Lou Holtz Which Cost Him A Chance To Play In A National Championship Game. Went To Dallas & Pulled Off The Biggest Heist In Trade History. Left His Starting QB In San Francisco & Won Back To Back Superbowls

This is what 90% of the world's population never really understand, greatest isn't being blessed with great skills or intellect. It's paying attention to all the details and being willing to outwork the other person, whoever that may be. It's just grinding everyday and gaining whatever advantage you can and exploiting it.
