Have you ever wondered what it takes to capture images for National Geographic? I had the opportunity to ask our friend Bob Holmes just that and what his approach is to making images that are worthy of National Geographic. In Bob's wonderful style he rolled out his tips for "accepting" images that you truly love. As Bob said, "That’s what I’m always striving for."

I hope you enjoyed these tips from Bob Holmes, be sure to share with us how you use these tips in your own work!
It's great to hear these insights from a photo expert.
Very good. I love the insight shared here. We as photographers are responsible for what is in the frame. What a great point and you cant stress this enough. Get out
There an shoot till it's automatic both for adjusting camera setting and finding compositions.
Yes that’s the truth response for what’s in the frame and never distracted by the camera!
It is a pleasure to have a flavour of the behind the scenes of a NG Professional photographer. Useful tips for most of us that are not professional photographers to improve the way we photograph.
Glad to help! Which of his tips stands out the most for you?
I really enjoy these videos. I can't binge, too much to listen to and process. Thanks for sharing.
Be sure to pick up our new course with him. silberstudios.mykajabi.com/secrets-with-bob-holmes
Really great interview!
A life of travels! Great photographer
Yes Bob has traveled 🧳 and has returned with so many fantastic images. 💥
Excellent advice and gorgeous photos!
It's a really nice insight to have. It's very rare to see into the workings of documentary photographers so thank you for the video. We've just started up our own photography channel to help out our online course students. If you've got a couple of minutes we'd love it if an experienced hand such as yourself could check us out, not expecting you to watch all the vids. It's just nice to touch base with great creators and hopefully catch up with you soon! Have a great day :-) (Stephen)
What equipment he used (lens, body)

An amazing photographer, stunning images, and some very valuable lessons. If I may interject, however, I´d propose that he´s (or maybe it was the editor) is leaving out two of the absolute main principles in documentary/opportunistic photography, which are A) shooting a shit-load of rapid-fire photos and then simply pick the "right" one, and B) cropping; i.e. shooting wide with super high-res setting/equipment, and then take care of composition - i.e. zoom in or out, move things around. etc. - behind the desk. These two "tricks" are VERY valuable to know for any beginner photographer; in other words, anyone who would benefit from an "instructional" video such as this one. Just my two cents.
Interesting but he does neither of those.
Exact opposite philosophy of a seasoned documentary photographer. Just my two cents
no no nooo this is terrible advice
Have huge DSLRs and a valid passport.
