- Several people have sent me this viral video involving San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Office Deputies relating to the arrest of a robbery suspect. The UOF is currently under investigation and the Deputy seen throwing the knees to the subject’s head is currently on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
Coincidentally, I was sent another video this week from an incident at the Douglass County Sherrif’s Office in Colorado, where the deputies involved received their in-service GST training exactly THREE DAYS prior to the incident captured on video.
Even though these are unrelated incidents in different states, and we don’t have all the details, the contrast between the two serves as a powerful reminder of the difference that training can make.

@@Spiritof_76 I don’t disagree with that. But this guy is like “oh you know they were being recorded so they didn’t do anything” that’s BS. If you know how to handle yourself on the ground and cuff people and have experience doing it, then it shows. If you do not it also shows. There are cameras everywhere and for people to say, “oh well these cops were being recorded and they knew it and these others didn’t” is stupid. Everywhere and everyday day you are being recorded as a cop. Doesn’t have anything to do with knowing how to fight.

This is what safe effective protect and serve policing looks like. The only use of excessive force I condone is forcing all police departments to take the Gracie course. “But it costs to much” How much is renewed trust in the police worth?

Here's the challenge. Put on all that gear; vest, belt, radio, gun, cuffs etc... and then try and grapple with someone on the ground. It is incredibly difficult to move efficiently with all that on. Forget even getting to the back and getting hooks in our anything like that. You use what you have available.

Please hold judgement for the deputy sending knees to his face. Unless you know all the details, the suspect could easily be trying to reach for a gun or his partners gun. This would he reasonable force in preventing him from doing this
