One of the most amazing things about mathematics is the people who do math aren't usually interested in application, because mathematics itself is truly a beautiful art form. It's structures and patterns, and that's what they love, and that's what they get off on.

EVERY SCHOOL CHILD IS USUALLY TAUGHT THE OLD 9 multiplication trick. It was the the easiest number to remember because it the answer had to add up to 9 sideways trick. I remember my teacher writing it on the blackboard & then showing how each answer added up to nine . The rest we just had to memorize!

I have another tip for percentages for finding and multiples of ten and five percent.
For the multiples of ten, for example, 30% of 80, just multiply 80 by 0.1 or divide 80 by ten, and once you have the answer, 8, multiply that by 3 and you get 24.
Now for the fives. 45% of 70. Proceed with the same method to find forty percent of 70. Divide 70 by 7 or multiply 70 by 0.1. You get 7. After that, multiply 7 by 4 and get 28. To find five percent of a number, you take ten percent of that number and divide it by two. Ten percent of seventy, as mentioned before, is 7. Now all you have to is divide 7 by 2, which is 3.5. Then you add both 28 and 3.5, and get 31.5.
    Hope this helped!

    x*15=x*10+y*10
(For those who don’t know order of operations, the multiplications of x and y by 10 will be completed prior to the addition of their products)
(For those who have no idea what that means, look up order of operations)
(x= Any Number - in this case, 64)
(y=x/2, which in this case =32)
