Good to see some of the old faces on the move to the new hospital Ian. I was a 'mature' student at the time allocated to a spell at Scarsdale so I wasn't involved in the move. I remember my first day at the new building with all those corridors, so different to the draughty old building as you said we had a great affection for those old wards, wheeling patients from theatre outside in all weathers to the wards. Omg ..amazing ian. I ve found this by accident I was looking for old footage of the queen opening Calow hospital, i think it was April 1986 Me and judy yates ( my sister) were part of the guard of honour, the queen was beautiful . I also worked on nightingale ward after being seconded to do my paediatric training from a and e, and princ Charles came onto the ward and i had my photograph taken with him. I ve never been able to get either photograph. Both judy and i were 1st year students when the move took place, my placement was Devonshire and judy's Barnes ward...i remember it well

I watched it being built 40 years ago and now I’m enjoying your video from the Snowy River in Australia. What a small and wonderful world.
