  • Thanks to Jose for his request for a deep dive of getting one GX100 button press to activate several different assignments. It's an easy set up, once you get a couple of concepts down. When you do, the move from a tight rhythm tone to a spaciously thick, louder and prouder lead tone, can be done with the simple press of a single button. Whichever one on the GX100 you choose.

Well i didn't know that there was the possibility to do this only by pressing twice the switch for different state. So that is why the "current number" means. Thank you sir!

You’re welcome!! A lot of people don’t, so I wanted to make sure to include it in a vid. Thanks for watching🤘🏻

Hey, a fellow GX user! I don't use current number, as I really just use one patch and treat the unit kind of like a regular pedalboard. But I do have multiple effects and parameters assigned to each button. For instance, Man 4 turns on solo boost, delay, comp, and raises amp volume. CTL 1 changes to a clean amp, and turns on comp and delay. I even have the expression pedal turning down amp gain while it turns up amp volume to compensate--and when it reaches a certain point in its arc, it changes from hi gain to med gain on the amp. Big fan of this unit!

    Wow!
    You’re awesome!
I’d not seen the video until today when I was checking if you had any new videos. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this. So, if I understand this correctly, I will have to add the same effect multiple times. In other words, let’s say I have five different effects each assigned to MAN1, MAN2, MAN3, MAN4, and CTL1… if I want to turn off all except MAN1, I will have to assign them as current numbers and only activate the one I want on? Then, I will have to repeat the process for MAN2, ,3, 4, and CTL1?
    Thanks again Sir?

Well the Manual effects are for running in a slightly different mode, more as a pedalboard. So when you are setting this up, just use the effect itself in the assignment and the same source, or switch as I think of it, should be used to change the effect state. So basically whatever you have the Manual buttons set up to do while in manual mode, all can be done in patch mode and with one button. I find it really helpful, as I like to just stay on one bank and move between a couple of very flexible patches. Hopefully this helps! 🤘🏻
