I feel blessed to have been introduced to DnB and Jungle as a kid, the funny thing is that the person who introduced it was my mom! I wish you love and happiness! ❤
I'm a 43 year old American who grew up in whatever we called a jungle/drum and bass scene in the late 90s. I will to this day never forget being on the same bill as Goldie for a show at a rather small venue in Tampa, Florida. It's my claim to jungle fame. I was a shit DJ, got by soley on my eagerness and hardworking for the street team of my local DJ crew. I always appreciate them letting me in and giving me a taste of performance. I wouldn't say it was a phase, cuz I still listen to drum and bass to this day, albeit not at all caught up with the current music. Cool story bro.
I have a similar story.. Played on the same stage as Goldie. But not on the jungle night. Was an outdoor party. I was w/ a production group who had a side tent. It was around 2am. Had a busy day, and was turning off for the night. Had a beer in hand. Had just done a big ole line of K. Then someone busts in the tent. The headliner for the main stage is late. (sadly can't remember who :( Someone from the UK.. This party was in the US, middle of nowhere). They needed someone to DJ, and couldn't find anyone, so came and got me! I was well practiced, but basically a hobby DJ. I threw raves, and DJ'd w/ friends all the time, but I was not a professional DJ. But, I grabbed my record crate and headed to the stage.. High on K. Unable to walk straight. But it was all good. Crowd had a good time. I played for almost an hour, when the dj finally showed up.
So good, always good to here stories from people in the 90s (and today as well), as I was only a wee nipper back then, so never got to experience it, but as a 90s kid, it runs through my veins and I love it, love it, love it.
Ah yes. Spending nights at the radio with the tape deck getting ready to record some new tunes so I can bring it with me on my walkman. How time flew...
Hi Venjent my friend. I appreciate immensely your free videos. I have listened to them while walking at work, trying not to headbang in public. In solitude in a semi sober state thinking about life, at a party through a speaker that deafened anyone close by. I will buy each and every song i have listened and enjoyed so far. Thank you. Also make more of the songs that i liked the most, (its the one that i am purchasing) I know its a selfish request but i am a hedonistic human. Drums n bass baby.
