You are truly blessed to enjoy this adventure. I appreciate the work it takes to make videos for those of us who will never be able to experience this. Thank you so much!
Great to see you taking every opportunity to get out on the water, thought the boat was big enough for more than just one ...... or at least an Engle. Also good to see you guys starting to use a woomera, don't put too much into throwing it hard, it's a bit like bowling or golf ..... more about balance and rhythm. A lot of woomera are traditionally used like a bit of a multitool ...... just thinking how much B2B love coconuts you might consider binding a coconut scraper on the handle end (could try and fashion one from a bit of giant clam or pearl shell) ...... just a thought. Looking forward to another action packed adventure, cheers
I had a 24-ft robalo open fisherman in Miami Florida. I used to go out all the time by myself with my dogs I would gather lobster and if I couldn't get any of those I'd go What's similar to what you're doing I enjoyed it for many years and it was a long time ago when women really didn't own boats and do things like that so it's very grateful to have that opportunity and to be on the forefront of that
Great video, will have to keep an eye open for your videos. I always love watching the videos because I just can't do what you guys do. After 4 back surgeries and now breathing problems and diabetes can't just do much anymore. So I live your adventures with you.
You're the man Az. Keep on keeping on. Stay healthy and safe always. Love your energy and adventurous spirit. You're a 'Proper' gentleman. Australia's Great Barrier Reef is on my bucket list and I wish I was there now, as it's some what chilly here in Quebec, Canada. Cheers my good man. Cheers
I'm the right mix of nervous & excited for this trip. Appreciate you for watching. I don't take it for granted. New Episode will be going up every Sunday. If you haven't watched the first series of " The Blue Highway" the whole playlist is right here ua-cam.com/video/rwrEiId8MgI/v-deo.html Stay safe out there. Big love. Az
Absolutely love this series if you ever need company or just someone to hold the camera I am willing😂😂. I live in middle of south africa and see the ocean probably once every 5 to 6 years watching these videos keep me full and updated but when you start making food my mouth waters because thats all what you need. Love the series Azz you are a legend we need 20more of these series and from 20min push it up to a hour and half video people would stream it in cinemas🎉 Would love to do something-like that just once in my life. Best regards all the way from Bloemfontein South Africa we wish everything great for 2025 and that you can keep going out and keep entertaining us beyond our expectations. All the best from Loeks44😎
ADVENTURE! I don't have ocean and beaches. I do have snow and mountains. This video made me want to get out on an adventure. Leaving tomorrow. Great video!
That was a great episode Bro. I love watching you catch food and I absolutely love watching you cook stuff. Myself and I'm sure everyone else would love to see you and Stick and Fran and your woman on the new boat for a long adventure. Man that would be so Amazing.
If you scale and bake the fish, without too much charring of the skin, you will be able to enjoy the delicious flavour of the skin as well as obtain the most nutrition. Blackened--not burned-- trout is the best. Yum!
Regarding the refrigerator on the island, I can imagine something like that being there after being washed out to sea from something like the Japanese title wave for instance! Everything is not showing up on the beaches because of people's neglect, although some is. Natural disasters fill the oceans with all manner of detritus when whole towns get washed out to sea!
I know this is a older episode but I'm just getting caught up to back to basics. I've never watched before so now I'm watching them all.. But I just noticed that I actually paused the video your rinsing your rice in the ocean water rinse rents rents and then you're. Pouring out the water but you should save that water after rents in the rice in a separate container and use that from where your washing your hair. And your body it's really good for your skin. It's really good for your hair rice water.
Remote and bare essentials, Az 9 minutes in I saw an esky at your feet, I know you don’t have ice but surely you could keep your catch in there to keep it fresh for a while 🤫
I think that is where the navy patrol boats stop to play cricket and have BBQ. A friend showed me pictures of his crew on it... from a distance they looked like they were playing cricket on the water..
Lots of debris all over the world on just about every beach some very small, some a lot, the only thing I can think of about the fridge, is tornados or hurricanes.
Cheers mate! I could run a fridge in it, but thought might get wrecked on a long trip- and that would be too much of a luxury. There were times I very much wish I had one though haha.
I hear ya. Your channel is called back 2 basics after all. Back to basics with my 110l dual zone fridge wouldn’t really work as well haha can’t wait for the series!
You're really living the dream man! Really enjoying the videos from North Carolina, US. Just curious what you are doing for fresh water? Did you bring it with you, or are you distilling salt water?
Loved the vid! Pro tip: after cooking with the cast Iron: clean it, dry it on the fire and the rub some oil all over it. It will never rust again.
You are truly blessed to enjoy this adventure. I appreciate the work it takes to make videos for those of us who will never be able to experience this. Thank you so much!
Cheers Ken, I Agree- very blessed to be able to go out and do this. Pleasure to make and share. A

Your a weapon mate epic surprised the big rig doesn’t have a fridge on it. Is that intentional?
Cheers mate! I could run a fridge in it, but thought might get wrecked on a long trip- and that would be too much of a luxury. There were times I very much wish I had one though haha.
