What are your favorite Captain America stories? 🇺🇸
The Winter Soldier Saga, Captain America: White, and Sentinel of Liberty
Mark Waid's run during Heroes Return
Yay Cap!!! Happy 4th to me!! (and to you)
@@jennifferelliott1053 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Happy Fourth!
The current run by JMS is actually great.
@@dadp12780 I’ve been curious on that, it feels like a greater pairing of writer and character. Happy to hear it’s enjoyable so far!
Gruenwald Cap is best Cap
@@ChrisLovesComics and we’re finally getting an omnibus! 👏📚
Good video. 👌
The J.M. DeMatties run is amazing including Deathlok Lives (Captain America #286-288 wiith Cap in the future year of 1990) and the Red Skull storyline that comes to a shocking climax in Captain America #300 (volume 1)
@@afroscifizianzcomix7836 thanks so much!
As always, I appreciate your recommendations :)
@TheComicBookReport Hey no problem 👍I love your Silver Age reviews and I really appreciate you doing them since they may not necessarily be your highest viewed videos.
@@afroscifizianzcomix7836 they never do overwhelming well but I’ve got love for the silver age. Some of that art and those stories are just iconic!
I’m currently reading all of the collected modern runs of Cap. I finished the Marvel Knights run and I have read through the first Brubaker Omni via trades and am about to read the thick trade of Death Of Cap (which has two more issues than the Omni…). I have the last 3 Omnis of Brubakers run, as well as everything through Ta-Nehisi Coates run. I’ve been reading the current run via singles and it’s soooo good I decided I needed to get all caught up
@@RobHopkins1 oh right on!!
Thanks for the recommendation :)
I love Rick Remender’s Captain America run. I got the omnibus and read it in like a week. The dimension Z arc is one of the trippiest most fun stories I’ve read. The art by John Romita Jr. is so good on that. I’m working my way through Nick Spencer’s run, although I like it, it’s more Falcon centric. Just pre ordered the Captain America by Mark Gruenwald. The current JMS run is very cinematic and I’m enjoying it as well. Cap is my favorite Marvel character.
@@Carlos-xz3vi love feedback on more cap runs!!
I’m still making my way through dimension z Remender actually but so far I like it!
@@TheComicBookReportOne I need to check is Mark Waid’s. I have heard great things and is Mark Waid, so I don’t doubt is great. I’m hoping Marvel reprints that Omni.
Fun video! I’m looking forward to the upcoming Gruenwald omnibus because that’s got a lot of stuff that’s supposed to be great! I’ve read the John Walker as Cap part of that and it was fantastic
It looks like an amazing run I’ve heard like universally good things
I like the Kirby stories "Madbomb" (isses 193-200) and "Bicentennial Battles" a lot...both have elements apropos to the 4th and to where we're at culturally. Also the JM DeMatteis/Mike Zeck 267, 278, 286, 293(?)-300 are excellent (hopefully that run gets an omni someday). I haven't read the Gruenwald stuff but I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for the fun video.
Oh some of these I’ve never read! Thank you for the recommendations :)
@@TheComicBookReport no problem!
Ed Bubaker hand down. But then again, it's the only stuff I've read 😂
Its the top
Of the list for me
I read all of the Brubaker run last year and it was Amazing! I kind of want to reread it this year loo
@@lexofpower2822 amazing stories there! Brubaker nails just such a specific tone for cap and I love it
@@TheComicBookReport Captain America #25 by Brubaker and Epting is one of my favorite single issues of all time.
@@lexofpower2822 👏👏👏
Solid choices! Brubaker's Cap is definitely my Cap run. The spy/political thriller vibes throughout most of his run are my jam.
Curious if you've read Captain America: The New Deal? I feel like that was a solidly written story that doesn't get mentioned all that much by people. I'm not from the States myself but I still found it really moving and inspiring, especially in the aftermath of 9/11, which the story focuses quite heavily on. It's a quick, but touching read. Worth checking out if you haven't already!
@@LongBoiComics I don’t believe I have read it, by chance do you know the writer for it?
@@TheComicBookReport a fella called John Ney Rieber, I believe
@@LongBoiComics I’ll have to take a look!
I picked up the Dan Jurgens omni for like $50. It's in my reading pipline. The only cap story I've read is the winter soldier storyline, and I loved it.
Super curious about that run actually
The Brubaker 5 omni run is all I've read for Cap, but I really enjoyed the first and last omnibus in that run. The middle 3 were good, but fell off a bit for me.
It’s an incredible run, that first volume for me is just amazing
The Winter Soldier
The Death Of Captain America
He Who Holds The Cosmic Cube
The Secret Empire
Captain America Reborn
Castaway In Dimension Z
Cap-Wolf
💯💯💯
In my opinion, no Ta-Nehisi Coates issues of Captain America should ever be on a best of list. Especially when you’re using it to celebrate the 4th of July. Marvel hired an anti-American to write Cap. It a disgrace to the character. Just my 2 cents.
@@TheNERDWay1 everyone is entitled to their own opinions of course. I felt some of his stories were a lot of fun and the one I chose for this list I found particularly moving personally. But again, to each their own.
What are some of your favorite cap stories?
What did he do or say that makes him Anti American?
Hoping we can keep discourse civil here, if not comments could be deleted :)
