I'm gonna say that whirlpool is a low win rate because of the amount of CC in the current meta. Aqua tail has better healing and range. Whirlpool HAS to go in, and with the lower healing, CC is usually a death sentence.
Generally agree, as its difficult to keep up if you get CC'd at all. Would do better if the unite gave more speed (like in the past) and/or Play Rough stuck to foes better. The toughest thing though might be when the team groups up. I wish Water Pulse was a better option in this instance perhaps by having its cooldown lowered when hitting multiple foes.
@Skeletonpie. I am a decent whirlpool player the problem is when there are 2-3 cc pokemons otherwise it does not matter to azumarill it's just brutal. I use attack weight ,scope lens, energy amplifier and I get my unite in like 40-50 sec and I can easily kill cc pokemons with that
I pretty much play Azu like a speedster and focus down the squishy backline pokes. I tried this out with the X Attack but I really missed having X Speed to close the gap on targets like pika. I’ve been running Focus Band to stay alive but I’m gonna try it with Attack Weight and see how it goes
Fair point about Pikachu. The items I've ran since forever have been Weight/Scope/Band + Potion and for me gives a nice balance between Damage & Sustain. Still gotta play it like a Speedster though.
Attack weight is a must and of course scope lense, you can go pre much anything u want for 3rd item but I run muscle band personally since it buffs play rough a ton and adds a lot of dmg in general
Gyro Ball Metagross is incredible and people just don't play it well enough imo. You always want to hit enemies on the edge of gyro, and I opt to stack (instead of using muscle band) and I pretty regularly hit the 100k damage benchmark in matches. Saving that unite move for key moments, like locking down a speedster or attacker at objectives and pummeling them can seriously change the shape of a whole match
Oh nice, not an expected Pokemon/Moveset video. Keeping it fresh! Agree with the points made about Azumarill and this moveset. There are certain items that take it to a whole other level. Personally I like Potion as the Battle Item, as I feel pretty good about damage in ideal situations but I want the sustain to be just a little better. It plays kinda like a Speedster and is good at that role. However, it definitely has that problem of late game fights tending towards grouping which can be really awful for Azu. Potential Buffs; - Unite giving a greater speed boost, more akin to what it was when unites were more universal in stat buffs - Water Pulse cooldown reduced each time it hits multiple foes (this is with Whirlpool in mind) - Play Rough sticking to foes better after the attack Would love to see its crit damage be on par with others but that might be too polarizing 😅
Scizor with double hit instead of swords dance I use the range for double hit to get in and out of fights also works for jumping between bushes to ambush opponents

It also allows me to flank and target squishies in the opponent’s back line, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve run around at Ray to get 3-4 enemy players chasing me while my team rips Ray. Having said that though - you’re absolutely right when you say that Azu’s biggest problem is its late game. A stronger Unite move would make such a huge difference to this Pokémon.
I’ve been addicted to Mean Look + Slow Smoke Umbreon recently. Nobody escapes the Tail Whips! Resonant guard, Exp Share, Focus Band for a mix of support and def. :)
The other reason is play rough needs you to dive in into your opponent, which is bad if they're a groupies. If the one or two opponents is a lonewolf, kinda fragile, and has a low assists count, you have a higher chance to hunt them down separately.
MidwayQ; This one is really out there but I think Glaceon's Icy-Wind/Ice-Shard build is actually quite good (specifically when jungled of course). Basically becomes a full on ADC. Definitely a whole lot better than its winrate would suggest.
Not even kidding, replace scope lens with focus band and use either potion or full heal, you become very hard to kill (and your passive is still definitely going to win you nearly any 1v1)
I actually love this build!! I use potion and take a lot of damage. Tbh i am kinda awful with aqua tail. I love using WP And play rough with attack weight and focus band though. I believe i use a weakness policy too.
Armorouge is also annoying for this build in the current meta I dont know if its a good strategy but i love starting mid with this build and taking half of the jungle for a fast 4 and an early gank. When i duo or trio with my friends, this can give them a nice early buff too
I think people don't really play Azumarill because there are so many other crazy all-rounders. Defenders are played even less but the devs don't try to fix that.
I think you should try score comp again the new goal hacker is really good with it if you run 1 or 2 pokemon with it and then goal getter on the rest you can help yourself stop scores and actually win base fights with the debuff I especially like it with tyranitar on score comp putting on your own base with sand tomb after the enemy team gets rayquaza is just a guaranteed shut down with ult
Just wanna know something according to Azumarill passive one theirs a one pokemon around attacks are always critical but when there's more attack will have zero crit (so using crit items is really worth or not) Btw which one should i buy Azumarill or Tytar
Eldegoss always a good pick, Blissey is a classic choice. But if you can waiting a little bit more for incoming supporter, psyduck, you might want to try it out first.
The main problem with Whirlpool is that it's a melee range move but neither Hydropulse nor Play Rough give enough mobility and slow/stun, so your best bet is just using Energy Amplifier and hope you delete someone with Unite.

I agree, Azu is underrated. Recently playing with Azu, he is awesome. (Tho I'm not ranking up that much) He is ray of hope.

I think people don't really play Azumarill because there are so many other crazy all-rounders. Defenders are played even less but the devs don't try to fix that.
It's one of those builds that only work if stars align perfectly, or else you die everytime you dive.

Forcing us to use an x attack and instead use playrought is hard. It is way harder to get in and fight. X speed is a needed thing.
