Why isnt any of this explained by the specislists in hip surgery and how to attempt to avoid hip replacement? They look at the x-ray or mri and say "bone on bone" or "no cartilage left" and immediately recommend surgery.
I have hip arthritis (some bone-on-bone) and have been prioritising glute exercises over the other exercises recommended by my physio as a result of watching your recent videos. Do you have any advice on determining when the glutes have been strengthened enough to move on to other leg muscle strengthening exercises. I'm 70 years old and would like to build up general strength in the legs as occasionally one leg has a tendency to 'give out'
I’m in the same place and would love to know too. I bought the hip recovery program and as great as it is, it doesn’t really address what to do for your legs, and when, once your glutes are stronger. You talk about how to keep the glutes strong, but do not really address the leg muscles.
I am certain you may have covered this issue but what I notice is my side glutes burn and fatigue - they fire as I have been working on them but maybe not correctly or maybe they’re “ out of condition “ ..I noticed this same issue just before my hips went south. All that sitting in trucking I guess. Surgery would be an option but I live alone and it’s honestly not the best option for me. All this issues you spoke on - I am dealing with. Checking all the boxes.
Dr. David, is this hip arthritis recovery program that you mention be helpful for me?, i had a hip surgery and are having the other hip done in January 2025, Thank you
Thanks Dr David. I purchased the H.A.R.P. because I don't want to do hip replacement surgery. I have hip arthritis and Degenerative DISC Disease in lumber region.
I´m wondering if this program could be also suitable for me if don’t think my glutes are weak? For sure there is some imbalance but can´t say where exactly. I’m 49 and have been strength training five times a week for the past two years, in addition to other activities, paying extra attention to lower body and glutes. My hip started bothering me more than a year ago, and I was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and mild arthritis. I added exercises I found on this channel and more, as well as started taking several supplements. However, since spring, the condition has worsened quickly. Two months ago, the pain became severe, especially at night. An X-ray revealed that my arthritis had already progressed to stage 3, and the doctor said I need a hip replacement. Despite doing everything I could, I’ve ended up in the situation I was hoping to avoid. And I do have lower back pain as well bordering me more and more.
I asked on another video yesterday and just hoping you see this and respond. I have both hips and left knee OA. Already had rt knee replacement. I need to know which of the programs you offer I should sign up for. Hips or knee?

@@epmanualphysicaltherapy the knee is most pressing I believe as it renders me most immobile. I just got an offloader today and it seems to be helping but I haven't had to go anywhere today to really test it out. I have been using a cane til today hopefully when I have to be out and about. Dr David I so appreciate your "common sense" approach to taking care of the problem and I look forward to starting the knee program after the holidays. (I've already started strengthening my glutes) Man that left one is lazy but now I understand the WHY. :)
Same I walk a lot everyday and because of this I can’t sit in recliners or soft chairs like couches or car seats it has to be a hard chair where my glutes sit and back or else it starts to ache and burn
By God’s grace, you saved me from two years of suffering with SI joint pain and spending tons of money on doctors..I really hope you become a Muslim one day.

Because the surgeons want money.....they would loose so much if everybody knew about this.😮
@@cinders1413i agree with you.
The only thing a surgeon wants to do is to perform surgery. If they were smarter, they would become physical therapists.
So very helpful you are Dr. David! Thank you. 🙏

In your 30 day program is there many glute exercises to strengthen your glutes to alleviate your hip flexor , lumbar spine overload?
