*Apologizes for being old*
+p3achFUZZ69 no he apologizes for saying "I'm so old" because it was outta context
*acsent*
he must be Canadian
Next time I will be younger, sorry.
p3achFUZZ69 in Russia you don’t get old.... old gets you
The Russian guy is so adorable.
yea even my gf thinks he's adorable too like a "friendly soviet teddy bear"
Russian spacesuit, the best and very functional! Very interesting!!!
very little time to get the truth
I like how the Russian guy talks.
One of them are engineer with experience in space suits development, another one make wings for victoria secrets. that makes sense right?
Gregory Kadonsky hes smarter than you so shut up.
Gregory Kadonsky Makes perfect sense. ILC Dover was the company in charge of America's space suits from Mercury program all the way up to today. ILC (International Latex Corporation) made women's undergarments from rubber that was very durable but comfortable. It took them quite awhile to perfect the suit for mainly Apollo but they beat out several companies, including the Navy for the space suit contracts. It's only natural for someone who dealt in men and women's comfortable clothing that knows a thing or two about materials; past, present and future.
GuMpAkC ok. I didn't know that)
You'd actually be really surprised in some of the companies that played their part in both military and space design (and not just by giving them money) . Cereal companies, clothing companies, and the obvious one, computer/electronic companies.
Ted needs to speak up a little. I barely can hear him. His voice drops towards the end of his sentences.
This is a good example of camaraderie. Thumbs up.
Russian and American working together - in this case for something positive like scientific progress.
My name Jeff. I mean, my name Nick.
Spacesuits are the ultimate clothing. Everything that can keep you alive & well from the microgravity vacuum workplace of an EVA to walking on a Planet with un-breathable air! Ultimately in the future, spacesuits will be as common as mattresses or camping equipment?
Tom Cotter if that were so, than why are fireman wearing these huge bulky suits when nasa went to the moon in 1969...... almost 40 years ago. Why can't they use them at radioactive sights from nuclear meltdowns
Money of course
This is cool, makes me think of the challenges my great grandfather had when his team and himself designed the first suits for open space travel.
NASA ain't got shit on Bruce Wayne.
is it just me or are they really cute?
Betweentheatoms gaaaaaaaaaayyy
OGM, I just read "The Next Generation Space SLUT"... :D
Mee to
I like this, seeing two people from two diffrent places which used to hate each other, now working together for greater success. It's surprising to see how human have changed along these years.
This is one of the most heart warming things ever.
Fascinating, Gentleman. As a person who has had a great interest in space and manned space travel, and as one who is an artist, I am very inspired by both of you, combining the disciplines of artistic design and engineering. I, too, loved science prophesy (science fiction), as a boy, and when I drew astronauts, I attempted to consider logical issues pertaining to the suits I drew. In particular, I never liked conduits for water, air, CO2 and cables on the outside--despite the ease of maintenanc
NASA's comments:
"Does it come it white?"
Fantastic work. The content is engaging and stimulating. So inspiring to see where personal space exploration is going. Great video!
My name is Jeff
The Winter Gamer ... the moose
A depressing thing about space, is that even if we master space-travel technology, finding a way to propel vessels at light- or near-light speed, it would still take over 4 years to get to the nearest star (besides our own sun of course), and that's a bit of a stretch, just to get a tan...
A little over 22 years, to get to anywhere near a possible Earth-like planet, in the Gliese 581 system.
None the less, it's still amazingly cool to see continuing development EVA suit and such.
so when are these guys getting married?
I think of the same, too. They look like more than partners.
But still very innovative designs.
how and why is that "savage"?
+framb0isier I know, right? That gay agenda bullshit has got to stop. 2 men are able to word together and be workplace partners without being gay.
SalandFindles I'm really concerned by how much of an insult you all seem to think it is to be called gay
When are you saxons gonna win the battle of Hastings oh wait
The fact that a Russian and an American are working together to pave the way for humanity's future in the galaxy makes me happy. The fact that a few people from a few different nations are cooperating on the ISS brings joy to my heart. Slowly...very slowly, we're uniting as one race, it seems. Humanity. Now, if only what you see happen in this video could be done on a much larger scale. Hopefully it will happen soon, and that will be Man's greatest day.
l loved what he said at the end...,captured the wonder.very nice. Great documentary Vice !
Amazing documentary Vice!
Amazing, two people's dreams united... I wish I could take part in something as pioneering and exciting!
Thanks for the upload Vice. Nice to see you back on interesting content
What you hear "my name is nick"
what I hear "my name is jeff"
All I hear is "my name is Yanny"
I just checked that out, thanks. -As well other related videos.
Indeed it's pretty cool, but most of it theoretical.
However it seems a bit incomprehensible at the time, since we don't really harness the full control over that kind of amount of energy required.
I saw Dr. Michio Kaku was on the case and I always like hearing how he explains the theories through simpler, understandable terms and analogies.
Sept. 17, 2019---Thank you for this video.
These space videos are the best.
You know those big bulky iron deep diving suits from the 1800's? When you think about it, they are kind of like first generation space suits
Astronauts on the moon: "I like to skip along." "Not me, boy... skip?!".
The music in this bit is raw!
they are partners or partners?
Comrades
+Illuminati And Cheese u should tell that Russian guy...
+Illuminati And Cheese watevs edgy dude run along and be edgy somewhere else
+Illuminati And Cheese lol k. have fun brah
They are Partnёrs
Another great episode
Loved this!
Music Dealers, nice job. I love that bass
Very interesting and cool video. Thanks Vice
Keep up the good work! So cool.
Two brains are better than one. Bravo guys.
6:15 that one looks much more comfortable than any i've ever seen
An inspirational video, I wish them both the best of luck.
:I am so old. I am sorry." hahahahhahahahaha
5:00 "... market demand in the commercial space industry..." It's 2013, and still, hearing that is like I'm watching a sci-fi movie. Science and technology is fucking amazing.
Great great vid guys! thanks VICE
Been hungover all day. Been watching Vice videos for 10 hours and I am still not bored! Shit...... I need a life
5:22 these are perfect for whenever i wanna play with my rubric cube in space.
the music in this vid is awesome
Amazing how much these suits resemble what NASA and SpaceX is flying
Space suits have come along way from the Moon landing to the Shuttle launch.
Your profile picture make you look like your doing the hitler salute you should probably change it. Just a suggestion.
I wonder wich space suit it was that had the rotating helmet in the "Gemini Space walk footage".
those gloves look so cool!! wow and i alo need a rubics cube in my vacuum chamber hahaha
The song at 5:17 is "Etacarinae" by Pazes.
HAHAHA the Russian guy had me crying in laughter,
Interesting info and perspectives
Vice should really put the soundtrack of the videos they make in the description it would really help out people like me who enjoy sweet tunes.
This is without a doubt the company I will use to build Mad Mike Hughes's space suit as well as my supersonic racing suit. The combination of knowledge and creativeness is perfect. I need to get in contact with Final Frontier.
Awesome! Thank you vice!
i like the second suit from the intro.
I'm glad VICE does stuf like this sometimes between the dumb cute animal videos and the videos of people getting drunk or eating. These guys seem like bros and i'm happy their business is going well.
congrats gentlemen!
The old Gemini suit looked more comfortable to wear, worked well.
Content like this is why I love Vice, they are the Nat Geo for this generation.
This is awesome, seriously happy to see these two men collaborating together to help make space exploration more comfortable and more mobile. This is great keep up the work you guys and I thank you for doing this huge job because without you two it would be alot more money creating new suits/gloves. If you and nick could reply that would be great!!! Space is going to be my final resting place
2:35 i like that beat.
I was just trying to help feel a little less depressed about the space being so big and us having no chance of getting places. And the fact that Dr. Kaku is on it should start us in the right direction.
wow, I was expectiong like a next-gen nano-suit :O
When they move around in the space suits, they look like a breakdancer doing "the robot" hehe
The ones from the TV show "The Expanse" and those from the game "Mass Effect" look pretty awesome. Let's make those for real😊
I like how private companies are taking on space travel technologies.
Have you fellows ever thought about a fluid filled suit rather than air filled. The one layer design lends itself to the concept. You do know about liquid oxygen suits for diving, right? They use Oxygenated Fluorocarbon Emulsion... Such as space suit would definitely extend the period of time the suit can operate immensely.
The danish dudes who are developing their space program in another episode of vice should get one of of their suits :D
Hopefully it all works out for them
Our species' destiny is either to unite and move on, or to become further divided and self destruct. Our decisions and life choices as individuals actually influence the bigger picture in more ways than what meets the eye. Good luck out there, and have fun. Thank you Vice for sharing these sweet videos.
Haha he said "work partners" and looked to the gringo and smiled ...they even have a dog at the lab
It's from the video. The guy says "I'm old, I'm sorry."
Wonderful video. Would love to know who supplied the music!
Still can’t beat the Apollo suits!!!
i really enjoyed this.
We could not open technology secrets, but our design technology is real next generation of space suit
Awesome video.
i love how he doesnt even try to solve the rubix cube.
Its so heartwarming to see the Russian guy put the cap thing on the other guy. Fatherly feels...
This makes me want to reread Have Spacesuit Will Travel, by Heinlein
Excellent adventure story; hard to believe it was part of his "juvenile series" like Red Planet, The Star-Beast, Between Planets, Rocket-Ship Galileo, and Starman Jones.
This is an amazing world we live in.
he is still working with them!!!!
I wish these guys good luck.
No you are absolutely right.Russia or before it fell,The Soviet Union, picked the "spherical" or round shape in their spacecraft, subs and jets. Now a jet or sub is not round but they designed the center of mass to be spherical like their spacecraft. They knew a object that was round would be able to withstand more pressure from all points. The only bad thing is the extra bulkiness that you have to have or it will come apart.I guess thats why other countries always worked around that problem.
I liked that last bit
This guy probably has the best job ever, he gets to work with Victory Secret models and Astronauts!
The music in this video in specific was great. Would love it if we could get some song names or at least artists.
oh my god i need this tracklist!!!!
Now, THESE guys are real clothing designers.
Ted Southern, thanks for making the angel wings.
Spasiba! Thank you!
Good stuff
best youtube channel
It depends. There was an article recently about scioentists saying that star trek style warp travel might be possible in the future. The problem now isn't that it's impossible, just that the current model requires about as much energy as the total US energy usage, though they have gotten that down from the previous estimate (all the power in the universe), with any luck we'll crack warp travel one day and distance will no longer be an issue!
I've seen a video with a woman working for nasa on the next gen space suit. it looked way more awesome and normal than any space suit i've seen including this video you should check her out and add it to this video.
her technology had something to do with tight lines running over the suit giving more compression to negate the pressure you need to build up by a noticeable amount.
Omg all the music in the back ground was awesome i neeeed to know the artist :( i neeed to
I'm rooting for these guys. I like 'em.
